@@dmrsk1899 it's been two years I last heard it. Still touches me deeply. I think this could be one of the best videos of this song that have some (rare) moments focusing just on the guitar playing
He is so talented! The riffs on the early albums were so overlooked, like Chemical World's Riff is so amazing! He has such a unique way of expressing the guitar, unlike any other! My favorite Guitarist by a mile!
Chemical World? I love a tune with a busy riff like that. This is a great video, if it was 3hrs long it'd still be too short. Watching Bugman's glorious noise segway into the melancholy of "No Distance" is a real treat. Also, I've been trying to nail that There's No Other Way riff for 25 years or so, and watching this I realise I'm still a mile off.
He makes you think outside the box as a player, which is just hugely liberating. What I've learned from the Graham the most, is that I cannot play like him. You have to find your own way; your own little tricks and trills, and your own little weird chords and riffs that you throw in the mix. Create your own pallet of sounds.
Inspirational! I got caught up in the whole late 80s shred thing and thought that unless you played a million notes per second then you weren´t worth exploring.....then I started listening to Blur and the penny dropped...the greatest guitarist of the generation.
No ego at all, very humble, but highly talented and willing to share! An absolute joy to watch the interview. Someone said, 'Like George Harrison with a handful of Hendrix thrown in!' I agree. On all the interviews I have ever seen Graham Coxon never disappoints. With Graham it is not so much about the guitar. That is just a sonic paintbrush, a tool if you will. You have to know how to use the tool BUT what is more important is the sound. That is what Hendrix was all about too....the sound.....the sound that reaches inside and touches the soul. Graham is off down the same path, and he will push it well past where Hendrix left off. Unselfish, inspirational, and a credit to music. For all the wonderful music so far thank you Graham. I feel sure that the future holds many more wonderful musical creations from this musician.
I reckon you are right. I think that the Grayling that you made for Graham looks absolutely freakin beautiful BUT more important, it has such a superb sound. I absolutely love it. Bravo to you sir. A superb instrument. I would not take long to learn on that guitar because it is definitely a 'cannot put it down' instrument. I would never be off of it! It would have to travel with me to Thailand. That's where I live now. And guess what.....there is a music treaching service down in the town. Even better! Don't know about prices, but I suppose a top class instrument like this is not so cheap. Maybe you will surprise me if I come to your web site and ask.
No distance left to run? Wow.. Love Graham's playing but always admired that song in particular, perfect playing, I'd love to sit opposite graham with my guitar and jam and learn from him
Gray Guitars very jealous, I always get the sense with him that he has the technique to rip up the fretboard if he wanted but expresses himself for the song only, I have a sunburst 80's tele made in Japan which I treasure, great to see him being recognised as one of the best tele players, liking the guitar you made for him sounds great, thanks for the upload
Graham Coxon, definitely one talented gifted musician. Self taught, just like Hendrix and Clapton. Reminds me much of a younger Eric, and like Hendrix, very interested in the sound he can achieve. The music.....just listen to his riffs in the Blur songs.......superb! So open, and prepared to show his genius. What a lovely fellow. Wonderful.
Lovely guy. Even with the ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ :)
This is a great interview. But I would HIGHLY recommend the one he did with That Pedal Show as well .. he goes quite a bit further in depth into some of the chord shapes, specific tones, pedals, guitars and amps etc he used for certain songs. AND the sound is loads better (!) ... some of the tones sound exactly like the albums. its amazing.
Man, I always wanted to play that VERY SPECIFIC part of Parklife and it was hard to see in live videos , I'm so glad you asked the master himself! He's amazing, thanks a lot for this!
I enjoyed this interview very much and then melted when he started playing NDLTR. He is my true only guitar hero and role model. Thank you so much for the video and keep them coming. Cheers.
Great to hear more and more good demonstrative stuff by the master of telecaster himself there wasn't around 10 years back when I started mimicking him. Always from time to time I forget and then remember again how interesting player he is, one of a kind really.
great camera work. I always want to see people playing guitar from their chin down to the 6th string not further than 13th fret. That way I can make wild guesses where are his hands. it also helps with my ear training immensely! top job!
Such an amazing musician. No distance left to run and chemical world, among many others, are gems. Graham seems also comfortable in sharing knowledge and experience. Thanks for this video mate.
That distortion sound!!! this may not be such an inspirational story but Graham is the reason why I wanted a Proco Rat ...sadly I couldn´t find or afford one. I ended up with a Metal Core ML-2 hahaha. Graham is the reason why I saved my money for years to be able to buy pedals and experiment with sound.
Yes! Underrated and heavily influential! for years I´ve been searching for videos where Graham show us more of his amazing playing so thank you so much for this videos man! greetings from Bolivia :D
He just mentioned Slint, Sonic Youth, and Unwound. That fact alone should make it clear why Blur achieve something vastly more compelling than fucking Oasis. Slint fans: can you detect the Don, Aman vibe going on with the chords in Bugman? Makes me enjoy that song even more.
Just like graham loves the RAT my go to is the Big Muff. Best advice ever - get to know your gear. You dont need 100 pedals. At the end theyre all the same in a way
He`s not a virtuoso...he`s not a "guitar hero" but this man (like Edge...Andy Summers...Morello...J. Greenwood)....changes the way a guitar can sound. Saw him a few years ago here in my country...Argentina and blew my mind
Graham might have absolutely no personality and be as boring an individual as watching paint dry BUT he is a totally brilliant guitarist he comes alive on guitar Brilliant
Alberto Molina It's Crossroads, the Cream version of the classic Robert Johnson song. Listen to the live, 'Wheels of Fire' version - the solo is epic! 😊

Scary amazing how he sounds studio quality whenever he plays their songs.
Yes...I got goosebumps more or less instantly when he started playing it.
Thanks for your bookmark... I totally agree
He played it so well... You can really see and hear all the little bits he does, it's such a lovely way of playing.
what's the song name??
No Distance Left to Run has one of the most beautiful guitar riffs ever!

23:18 I absolutely love that chord progression in No Distance Left to Run. What a beautiful song.
The reason I ever picked up a guitar! Fav guitarist of all time!
Couldn't agree more!
I picked up the guitar, and then I realised I couldn't play any of his parts. Took a lot of practice to get close to approximating his playing.
saaaaame same same same. inspiring dood
13:05 my guitar teacher playing a sick riff while i sit there and pretend i know what im doing
Very nice! I could listen to Graham all day.
I can tell with the way Blur riffs creep into some of your demos!
Same here
'No distance left to Run' is just such a beautiful guitar line..
No Distance Left to Run is magical in so many ways. Beautiful riff ever
23:20-24:30, what an eargasm!
Goosebumps
12:20 OMG 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 the only person in the world who plays this riff properly. I think it must be magic or somethin.
I think the same
So true, I can slow it down and play repeatedly, but I can’t get whatever hitch rhythm he has

Thanks very much Gray Guitars! I really appreciate it!

By the way.....I am looking at your guitars. They are BEAUTIFUL! I am not a player, but I would love to own one.
In fact, owning one of your guitars might give me the inspiration to have a go at learning to play guitar!

So is Graham playing 'No distance left to run' in open G, drop D or standard tuning a whole step down?
Adrian Tyler drop d I think Adrian. Whenever Graham plays an acoustic guitar he always drops the low E down to D.
So is oasis :) blur and oasis fan friendship 😊🙌🙌

The way he made the guitar cry during No Distance Left To Run.
