Hi Chase - i actually bought a supply errant bag this year, off the back of your initial review a few years before this pro review. Product is indeed great. BUT FOR ANYONE WATCHING THIS, PLEASE BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT YOU BUY FROM BOUNDARY SUPPLY that is marked as "Final Sale". I purchased a port kitt marked as final sale and half the product came HEAVILY tarnished & had a sticky residue on it from the material expiring i guess? When I contacted their support on how they could be selling a product this way....they continuously told me they try to be clear that their sale items are old inventory and is not eligible for warranty or returns - which i can understand to a certain extent. But honestly, even at the discount i got this accessory for, if i had known it was in such poor condition, I would have never even considered spending my money. I literally cannot use this bag without it flaking black chunks everywhere from the expiring material & it will get on the stuff I have inside.
Many Thanks for the great review Chase. I purchased the Errant pack from their website several years ago, and it is a fantastic, long-lasting bag, despite too many straps hanging around. I then purchased the camera cube too. Sadly, for a company making such good products I still wonder why we were scammed by Boundary Supply on a subsequent 'Chase Pants' Kickstarter effort. It's 'been four years since we paid, yet no merchandise has been delivered, and after various explanations, Boundary Supply has simply gone cold on us, and it's business as usual for them.
Bought this after coming across your ancient Errant review and thinking I would buy v1. Whaddya know, the pro had just come out. Love it so far and am blown away by the execution/focus on improving all the customer feedback. Glad to see your review as your walk-through is more comprehensive than their site 😂 the team were amazing sorting out my delivery (went above and beyond to get it to me before I flew out) and mentioned they've been waiting with baited breath for this review. Awesome. Love the work man, rest up and respect the questioning consumer addiction/pepp talk ramble. Book rec: fully automated luxury communism, I feel you'll dig it.
Love Chase reviews, love business papers and love, love, love my new Errant Pro pack in Obsidian Black! Boundary Supply has made this Pro an excellent everyday carry bag for work, casual and hiking treks. I added the Aux Compartment and will be getting the Adventure Waist Strap to complete my setup. What I love is the Fidlock buckles and the inclusion of Velcro backing on the inside panels for added functionality.
The philosophy at the end of these videos is the reason I keep watching these reviews of bags I definitely don’t need and will probably never buy. Cheers mate!!!
I got the errant a year ago. I fell for the look and watched reviews; thought it would be the best bag for me. It was a mistake and I would not recommend it at all. It’s heavy. No stretch to accommodate things. Roll top offers no expansion at all. The magnet locks are a pain. I bike everyday and muddy splashes can’t be washed off the bag. It look’s permanently dirty since the first week. Just one side pocket. The only thing I like is the ventilation at the back, but a lot of other bags provide that. It’s just a fancy bag that doesn’t do anything well. I had a Timbuk2 spire2 before this and wish I had kept that bag. Save your money and get something cheaper, simpler and much more useful.
@@TreyHairston curious what problems you had with yours? I find the main issue being the hypalon material cracking everywhere after about a year including the zippers falling off.
I've seen in several reviews that the flap with the Fidlock V-buckles is fiddly to open. Honestly, I think Boundary installed them upside down for the most efficient use of motions to open the flap. You can buy the V-buckle with the ladder lock on the opposite end and reverse the direction that these are installed. This means that the "flap" of the v-buckle is attached to the flap of the bag, and when you perform the motion to open it, (a straight-out or slightly down motion), you are technically holding onto the bag flap already and you just continue the motion to open the bag with one motion. Compare that to the stock installation, where you need to first pull up on the tab (and look how the flap just moves with the buckle and you have to pull harder because it is not under tension in that direction), then away so that the strap falls away from the magnet. Perform this twice, one for each buckle, then separately open the flap. It may seem like not a big deal but as Chase demonstrates, this is enough to make someone not want to use the flap to access the bag. I think if I end up getting this bag, and I think I might, I will be changing out these buckles for the reverse style. There is one quirk to installing them this way however, which is that while this would make it a breeze to open the flap with one motion, when closing the flap you would need to slide the female part of the buckle underneath the buckle on each side. However given that these are magnets that want to find their home, I suspect this would have very little affect, if any on the ease of securing the buckles.
I saw the prima and the errant years ago and I held off because I needed a perfect combination of the two. It took some time but it was so worth it. Got it and love it
