      Hi i need reassurance 😂I’ve always wanted to visit there I live in America and hope to visit this yr however I’m nervous i know there are bombings there and kidnappings or is that really NOT in Istanbul more on the outskirts ? While we can’t mask the truth should I be worried ? And does Istanbul get more then 3 earthquakes per year? And do they speak a lot of English there
      Thanks

      @@ABOVETHECLOUDS007 As a Turk, I would like to help. Sorry for my bad grammar 💙Turkey is a country with fault lines under it. So, of course, earthquakes do happen, although not very often. So I can't give you an assurance like "an earthquake will definitely not happen", sorry😿. Things like bombings and kidnappings are very extraordinary events and no, it's definitely not normal for us. Speaking English is more common among young people. Young people in Turkey speak English better than the elderly. So trying to get help from an elderly person can be difficult. It would be better for you to consult a young person. I hope I was able to help you with your questions. I suggest you come and experience it with your own eyes. Because you can't know any country as much as it is told from the outside.🫶🏻🫶🏻

It's funny because I've been living in the Netherlands for 6 years and a Dutch person also asked me if we were riding camels in Turkey... I mean, come on.. • @lb3843
      @lb3843 Год назад +1

      Oh my goodness seriously they asked you that? wow! people are ignorant period. Turkey is a Eurasian country, not MENA. And you guys don't ride camels, you drive cars, and use the metros like any other modern city in the world. The only thing is that Anatolia is known for having its history of horses but that's the only animal that's been ridden. The Caucasus countries don't even ride camels and also Lebanon doesn't either. People need to do their research before making assumptions. Camels are ridden in countries like Egypt, Morocco, The gulf states, and Jordan. oof

      It's always been a Turkish thing to eat well at breakfast, but it this thing with 15 different dishes called Serpme Kahvaltı/Sprinkled Breakfast is a trend less than a decade.
      Then again, going out for breakfast wasn't really that big a thing before and it can be viewed as a more glamorous version of what we do at home at Sundays

It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!

    15 years ago, the city felt breathable nowadays most of it is an ugly mish mash of concrete and seeing woods in Bosphorus area doesn't really change that.

    Generally, people see Turkey as Arab-Islamic countries, which is a huge mistake because there is an unchangeable law in the Turkish constitution, which is secularism. Especially in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, millions of secular Turkish Muslims live but you know western countries want to see our more "conservative" side.

    Hi Kaja! Your video has just come up after correcting a judgmental , uneducated Belarus RUclipsr. I know now why your video came up mentioning " judgmental " So she goes to Dolmabahçe and from Dolmabahçe she says " I don't know how men have 400 wives, in our culture men don't have 400 wives" 😂😂😂😂😂 I had to explained Atatürk didn't have 400 wives but 1. And Atatürk was the one who has given women right to vote and freedom after 1. being New Zealand.
    Some Ottoman Sultans had 400 women in Harem in Topkapi but that was like private Tavern, Strip Show, Br..tel in 14th century. Some English Kings had to kill their wife to marry to the other one in 14th century but that doesn't mean English culture. Probably some rich Belarus men go to br...el had s... with 400 all different women.
    Thank you for not being ignorant. All the best.

    Are you aware that 100 years ago these people perpetrated a final genocide on the remaining Greek and Armenian Christians of Anatolia. Are you aware that the sheer unbridled violence faced by the non Muslim populations that the Colonial powers saw no other solution than to recommend that 1.5 million Greeks have to leave these lands which they had lived in since time immemorial and the Turks had only lived in for 500 years. Are you aware that in 1955 the last remaining 50000 Greeks were attacked in their homes and businesses by a fanatical mob of Islamic zealots who proceeded to kill, injure and rape indiscriminantly and now only 2000 Greeks live in a City their ancestors established in 200 BC. Are you aware that Turkey illegally invaded Cyprus in 1974 and this occupation has never been accepted by any member of the UN in 48 years. Are you aware that most of the population of Turkey are actually the descendants of Greek and Armenian people's of the 1400's who were forcefully converted to Islam by threat of death or economic discrimination. Are you aware that the Government derives it's power from a backward Islamic subculture and is guilty of oppression of media and academic non conformists. Are you aware that all those progressive European looking and acting people you think you are safe around stood back and allowed and now ignore the atrocities that have gone into building this country and nation you call Turkey today?

      Things change, get over it. You say it is the original people who were christian before and islamic now. Well, most of europe was paganic, then became Christian around 2000 years ago. Cultures change over time..

    • @chrismardas8
      @chrismardas8 Год назад

      @@kocahmet1 this was not an example of cultural change. This was not a situation where the pagan people where presented with a “one God” model of peace and love but rather a relentless militarily invasion under the flag of a new religion concocted by a soldier who lied about speaking to God directly. This was specifically inflicted on a people who had developed into land of peace… who’s main directive was loving their neighbor… who would have opened their lands and hearts to these population movements without realizing the sinister nature of these new people. We’re the specific genocides of the Assyrians, Armenians and Greeks in Turkey in the 20th Century Cultural Change too. Was the final extermination and need for 1.5 million Greeks to have to leave everything behind Cultural Change too? Get over it? What does that mean? You mean that if your grandmother had to run from her homeland at the age of 6 and she spent her whole life in black clothes to lament the death of her parents, siblings, cousins. Is that what I have to get? You have so little understanding of how stupid you are is absolutely astonishing…. The next time you have a thought, try and remember that you have no intelligence what so ever and then maybe you will avoid that mistake again. And when cultural change comes to your home in the form of a direct order from a military power remember me and your advice to get over it..things change.
