Low Cost Entry level Speedrun Car Rlaarlo AK 787 and AK917 Single motor versions

- Your start into Speedrunning?! Today, we have the new Rlaarlo AK 787 RC Car Single motor Carbon RTR version and the Single motor Carbon Roller version. We test top speed straight out of the box, no gear change in the RTR whereas the Roller version has a Castle system with the stock spur and high speed pinion. The new Rlaarlo 8 channel transmitter and gyro receiver get a test. We also break out our upgraded power system AK917s that competed in the Speedrun Challenge. All of the AK Carbon versions 787's and 917's definitely impress. Enjoy

The wing does work on it.
With the Rlaarlo CT8A Transmitter the wing doesnt operate properly. I killed the servo trying to set it up and I reached out to Rlaarlo and they said at the time the CT8A Transmitter is not compatible to operate the wing with normal functions.

I burnt out the wing servo motor also with the new controller. You just need to reduce the range to where it barely moves the few degrees it needs to move the wing.
My wing now moves with the touch of a button.
Yeah I had mine working temporarily on a channel but the servo burnt up pretty quick. We have one now set to a DX5 Pro and control the pitch with a button.also🍻

Awesome video any tips on how to convert the 917 to mod1 gears? Im new to rc cars and recently hit 102 on stock motor and esc on the 917 and I want to go faster. Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you😁. Its a pretty straightforward swap. The stock spur gear setup has a 5mm bore. It can be removed and replaced with a 5mm Mod 1 pinion. I think we used a 28t Tekno mod 1 gear. You may have to do some shaving of the mod 1 spur to get it where there is no friction with the motor mount. I think I ran mod 1 28t spur and 27t pinion on 6S when I hit 139mph

If you were buying a roller for a speed run chassis which one would you choose, 917 or 787?
You cant go wrong with either one. They are basically the same car with different bodies and aerodynamics. Weve proven the 917s high speed stability but havent done so with 787 yet but we plan on it so stay tuned for next vids. And both cars can upgrade to dual motor if you go that route
