I think my favorite read in December was Remarkably Bright Creatures Shelby Van Pelt. It was intimidating for me all year and once I dove in I couldn't put down and can't stop thinking about the characters ❤ I'm looking forward to joining this book club for 2025
A Sorceress Comes to Call by T. Kingfisher was my top read in December, it is one that I keep thinking about and is so vivid in my memory (which is saying a lot because I usually forget books too easily)
I don't know I could reach another 1000 pages in each of Joey and Aiofe's books, I feel like if you're truly invested in the characters then the story flies by. I love their books so much, and their story, and bc it is so character driven I feel like every page has a purpose and it's not just filler. Chloe Walsh is building that world where you fall in love (or thoroughly despise) every single character and side characters in the book - the siblings, the parents, the friends, etc.
Ahh so happy you tried Anxious People. That was the first Fredrik Backman book I read. He definitely has a unique writing style (though I also wonder how much that’s due to the fact that his books are translated to English from Swedish). I had so many good reads this month - I flew through The Naturals series in like 4 days and I loved To Catch a Firefly by Emmy Sanders. I also hopped on the Heartless Hunter and Shepherd King duology trains and found them to be pretty good! I didn’t think their magic systems were too hard to digest. Always appreciate your thoughts on books :) Also just wanted to say that the length of Redeeming 6 varies depending on the edition. The ones I have are not 1K pages haha (Redeeming 6 is my favorite of the series so far, but I loved Binding 13, Keeping 13, and Saving 6 too!)
How my Neighbour stole Christmas was so good in my opinion. I love the verses at the beginning of each chapter. LOVED the grinch references ❣️❤️🎄 Happy New Year Delaney!
it’s one of the worst books I read this year. The candy cane smut? Kill me please. When i ate a candy cane a few days after reading those scenes, I was reminded of the smut and wanted to projectile vomit. 😂
I had so many favorite reads in December My song by harry bellefonte memoir if you're curious about old Hollywood definitely check out this book Be my baby by ronnie spector memoir she was a singer and was married to phil spector the music producer Wild eyes by elsie silver Blackwood farm by Anne rice book 8 in the vampire chronicles definitely give this series a try Only for the holidays by abiola bello it's a Christmas book The true love experiment by christina Lauren Just for the summer by abby Jimenez i was shocked how much I enjoyed this book
How my neighbor stole Xmas - is aunt Cindy supposed to be Cindy Lou who from grinch😅😅 also this may be a stretch but “Story” could be a play on words w a Christmas story or just whimsical. Also Cole. COAL!????
The only book I managed to finish was The Ghetto Within by Santiago H. Amigorena. I gave it 4 stars because I genuinely enjoyed it, though I was a bit unsure about the rating. The novel beautifully delves into themes of identity, guilt, and the impact of historical events on personal lives. Amigorena’s writing is evocative and masterfully captures the emotional turmoil of the protagonist. However, it did feel like a lot to take in within the 150 or so pages

Wait what platforms are "up in the air" right now? ...
😊🩷
From a fantasy reader- I didn’t like Caraval. It was overhyped same with OUABH. 😅
