"You're a stranger till she whispers you can stay. You're a stranger till she whispers that your journey's over." Love the progression and layering in this song. This album is 🔥 plain and simple. Always on rotation. Please do "Monsoons" next, also the next track on the album. ❤🤘
Monsoons is incredible. I can’t wait for you boys to do that one. There’s a live performance at there that’s really good. I’d love to hear what you two have to say about it.
This song is based off of where he lives. Jerome, AZ and surrounding desert. The Verde river etc. He fell in love the beauty of our state. Has his vineyards, produces his wines etc.
@@krislars3852 Yes sir, been there. I live in Phoenix. Jerome really is a gem. And him being there, his businesses have done a lot of good for that area and the locals. Jobs, heightened tourism.
My wife and I own a house in Clarkdale, just down the hill from Jerome. Moving back up there next summer (currently in the suburbs of Phoenix.) We can't wait! The Verde Valley is a gorgeous place!
I think this one is about him being a journeyman and wanderer most of his life. This is about him finding an attachment to his vineyard in Arizona. The nearby river giving life to his land and him finally feeling at home. There are several songs like this on the album. Have you done Horizans yet? So touching.
The Verde River runs through AZ. It wasn't easy getting grapes to grow in the area and my guess is Maynard is thanking the major contributing body of water to his vineyard.
I always thought this song was about his journey trying to wrangle the Arizona desert to grow his wine grapes. The Verde River runs right near his town. And Farmers come and go but, if you don't learn the tricks on how to work with mother nature out there, then you don't make it. So you're a stranger until you respect the Verde River wether during floods or drought and her power over you.
In interviews, that and the quirky locals, the desert he said what made him fall in love and stayed. So many Puscifer songs are inspired by his experiences in Jerome AZ and surrounding deserts.
I’m sure it’s been said , but this to me is the story of a man that went somewhere on intuition, but was finally accepted by the power of land itself after the man proved his worth. Dude moved to Arizona on a spiritual prompting. After weighing his worth, “she” whispered you can stay. And he did btw.
Tiny Monsters, the opening track on this album is absolutely mind-blowing. As is the rest of the album. As is every Puscifer album. As in basically everything Maynard touches. 👍🏻
I used to live in Prescott AZ and I’ve been to Jerome where he lives, a very small town. I think he’s singing about how you are a stranger to the land until you understand how to live with it and thrive with it. I think he’s talking about when you go anywhere you need to grow to coexist with the land symbiotically, rather than in a destructive way.
His winery (and I believe his vineyard) are in the AZ Verde Valley. Listening to all these songs driving through Sedona to Jerome makes the journey even more awe inspiring
I used to live in Flagstaff, about an hour and a half from Jerome where Maynard lives. Wine farm. Verde river is around the same area. Camp Verde, Middle Verde, and the Verde river flows through there...🤔
One of my all time fav Puscifer songs! Loved this album so much, my wife and I took a vacay to Arizona just to see some of the landmarks he references in the album.
This song is about the verde river here in AZ near where he lives. Had a great 🍄 trip there back in the 90’s with my friends and family. This song hits different for me 😊
Bring the noise. Dj is Terminator X from PE. The dude from Anthrax raping is Scott Ian. Check out the soundtrack from the movie "judgement night" every song was a rad rock/metal band paired with a rapper.
Y’all gotta listen to the pusifer live album. It’s called This is Pusifer. These songs are outstanding in a kinda stripped down unplugged versions but it’s not all acoustic. You won’t be disappointed.
🦋Smokey With The House Of Pain Lyrics I came to get down, I came to get down, So get out your seat and jump around! Jump around! Jump up, jump up and get down! Nice! 🙌 I Love These Fire Lyrics. As Always Maynard Never Fails. No direction, but to follow what you know No direction, but a faith in her decision No direction, but to never fight her flow No direction, but to trust the final destination You're a stranger till she whispers you can stay You're a stranger till she whispers that your journey's over. I Agree With Your Breakdown Of This Song Guys!
Some believe that this song is about Gary Ridgeway the serial killer of the Green River (washington). But I don't think so the only things that link this song to that person is the name of the song Green Valley and the fact that "verde" means "green" in spanish.. pretty slim.
cast your heavy stone before it drags you down cast your stone at me here and hope I still come back around cast your heavy stone before the weight keeps you down cast your ugly stone right into the air and pray it doesn't come back down it hits you where it counts it hurts you every time it gets you while you sleep it kicks you when you're down
"Conditions of my parole" WAS the Puscifer's best album, and ooh, don't let me start on the ritualistic beauty of "Green Valley"..But then on 2020 came "Existential Reconning".
You guys were right that this songs lyrics aren’t that deep. Verde River goes through Flagstaff, near Jerome,AZ (where MJK’s vineyard is). The song is about the helpless relationship between man and Mother Nature. His vineyard relies on the water from Verde River.
It *might* be about something spiritual, but I'm pretty sure it's literally about the Verde River in Arizona and probably has something to do with the history of how people settled in that area of the country. Perhaps some early settlers had to travel the length of the river (or something like that). I think this because Maynard's vineyard is right next to the Verde, and when he first started there were a lot of naysayers who said it couldn't be done, wasn't worth it, the grapes would be too bitter, etc... So, Maynard himself had to "weigh his worth" in a sense vs the terrain of the region. To my mind, that seems like a reasonable source of inspiration.
Dudes- so an album suggestion for some album start to finish would MGLA, AGALLOCH, or the Solitude album from DRUDKH. 6-7 songs each album from different genres you guys already like.
Y'all don't have any Warren Zevon on your channel. Why not? Warren was edgy AF way back in the day. Y'all should react to Warren Zevon , "My Shit's Fucked Up ". His lyrics sounded like something Hunter S. Thompson would write about in a novel. He was trying to get his final song recorded before his death. It was called "Keep Me In Your Hearts For Awhile ". Eddie Vedder does a beautiful rendition of it when they're doing a tribute to Warren. Both Warren's and Vedder's version are cool.
I really like your videos guys, I've been listening to Tool since the 90's when I bought Ænima just because the cover that had a lenticular effect caught my attention. Hearing it blew my mind, since then I have waited for each album like the messiah. I know what I'm going to ask you has nothing to do with Tool but it's worth it, listen to Grinderman please. Thanks!
When you guys eventually do By and Down by A perfect circle, can you please do the original version first? It's just called By and Down as opposed to By and Down the River on the eat the elephant album. They're both good, but the first version had a lot more emotion in my opinion that didn't quite translate over onto the album version
Been enjoying your reactions, as always, guys! This was definitely unique to me, will have to check out more myself! I was wondering if you guys had checked out the Babymetal "farewell" version of "The One"? If not, here is the link: ruclips.net/video/WHphfTnJj90/видео.html. You guys had a good run with them, and I'm sure you will check them out if (when?) they come back. Anyways, keep up the good work!

One of the best Puscifer tunes ever. Tear up every time.
"You're a stranger till she whispers you can stay. You're a stranger till she whispers that your journey's over." Love the progression and layering in this song. This album is 🔥 plain and simple. Always on rotation. Please do "Monsoons" next, also the next track on the album. ❤🤘
your always spot on with your comments...
Monsoons is incredible. I can’t wait for you boys to do that one. There’s a live performance at there that’s really good. I’d love to hear what you two have to say about it.
Yes finally!! One of my favorite Puscifer tracks, the build up gives me goosebumps everytime..enjoy guys🖤
Yeaaah, the goosebumps..and there's no other way around it..
This song is based off of where he lives. Jerome, AZ and surrounding desert. The Verde river etc. He fell in love the beauty of our state. Has his vineyards, produces his wines etc.
This song became apparently clear once visiting his vineyard, and Jerome Arizona in general
sunrise and sunset here are amazing! red sky, red mountains, and puffy clouds👌🏻
maynard has a music store in jerome called puscifer. its a cool place.

Same with the yearly blessing or non blessing of the Southwest monsoons. He fell in love with our desert, stayed and made it work.
I always thought this song was about his journey trying to wrangle the Arizona desert to grow his wine grapes. The Verde River runs right near his town. Hearing Green Valley live just sends tingles up your spine .
Though a stranger, you can rest here for a while.
I’m sure it’s been said , but this to me is the story of a man that went somewhere on intuition, but was finally accepted by the power of land itself after the man proved his worth. I just love y’all!! Love from Chester SC!!
Tiny Monsters, the opening track on this album is absolutely mind-blowing. As is the rest of the album. As is every Puscifer album. As in basically everything Maynard touches. 👍🏻
I’m thankful every day to be on the earth at the same time that Puscifer is.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE the drop on this and the haunting, beautiful backup vocals of Corina🔥

The Sugarcubes! Love Björk 🖤🙌🏻

They opened with this when I saw them live. One of my favs from puscifer for sure! Smokey’s face when the drums come in is me every mf time.
This song is about the verde river here in AZ near where he lives. Had a great 🍄 trip there back in the 90’s with my friends and family. This song hits different for me 😊
This was my favorite opening song seeing them live
Time to do some Carina Round (female vocals) her solo stuff is pretty fire. Do "Sit Tight" it is sooooo good.
I’m addicted to “For Everything a Reason”.
Another great song, Elegy, Do You, Shoot, lots of others!
Haven’t even started the video, but this gentlemen is the shit.
Beautiful ❤

I Agree With Your Breakdown Of This Song Guys!
Verde river is in Arizona & green valley as well
Fantastic song, one of my favourites
The Verde River is by his house near Jerome AZ, near Cottonwood AZ
Y’all. Y’all. Y’all. Wonderful idea. Into this song!
I did twice maybe it was me! LOL
I love this song!!!
Some believe that this song is about Gary Ridgeway the serial killer of the Green River (washington). But I don't think so the only things that link this song to that person is the name of the song Green Valley and the fact that "verde" means "green" in spanish.. pretty slim.
I know y’all mentioned Cocteau Twins in a very very very footnote manner but it’s definitely something that you should react to. Mind-bending.
TRULY AMAZING 💯🙏🙏
2:55
Hollywood, what on EARTH are you doing, catching imaginary fish? I swear, you two are hilarious!
Life is the Verde River.
RUSH THURSDAYS!!!
Greatest band of all time
Never heard this song so here we go
My favorite Puscifer song. Only Maynard could write a song this Kick-Ass about a river.
cast your heavy stone before it drags you down
cast your stone at me here
and hope I still come back around
cast your heavy stone
before the weight keeps you down
cast your ugly stone right into the air
and pray it doesn't come back down
it hits you where it counts
it hurts you every time
it gets you while you sleep
it kicks you when you're down
Yes you need to experience the ALBUM in order the way that God and Maynard intended. ✌
Perfect album
"Conditions of my parole" WAS the Puscifer's best album, and ooh, don't let me start on the ritualistic beauty of "Green Valley"..But then on 2020 came "Existential Reconning".
Still waiting for "Grey Area" or Bread and Circus" reactions
Quit saving sour grapes please I need reverend Maynard
Grandson: oh no!
Pucifer is so heavy
Maynard is an enigma.
Love this song there is a remix version this album.
Iron Maiden Rock in Rio 2001 "The Clansman"

(* Tool ) " Taco 🌮 " Tuesday ...
👋🏻😸✌🏻
Oceans is amazing.
Dudes- so an album suggestion for some album start to finish would MGLA, AGALLOCH, or the Solitude album from DRUDKH. 6-7 songs each album from different genres you guys already like.
Listen to the first minute of The humbling River and then listen to the first minute of this song. Do that a couple of times.
Y'all don't have any Warren Zevon on your channel. Why not? Warren was edgy AF way back in the day. Y'all should react to Warren Zevon , "My Shit's Fucked Up ". This song and Grand Canyon are just songs about Arizona. It takes a certain type of person to live in northern az.
Thanks!
check the live version on What Is.... kinda puts the album recording to shame, though it of course has it's charms.
Great album. I have to start buying the physical copies of albums again before this digital blackout happens....you think I'm joking.
I come here to chew bubblegum and jam some Maynard. I'm almost out of bubble gum
hey guys.. if you like progrock so much ( rush) you should listen to Jeff beck with savoy or big block.. two masterpieces!
Its talking about a long time traveler finding his ideal home with a woman in Arizona...
He's still searching for her
Never fight her flow
When you guys eventually do By and Down by A perfect circle, can you please do the original version first? It's just called By and Down as opposed to By and Down the River on the eat the elephant album. They're both good, but the first version had a lot more emotion in my opinion that didn't quite translate over onto the album version
My personal favorite version of By and Down is from the Stone and Echo tour. There's so much more feeling in it.
I'd recommend the live version at Red Rocks. Imo it's so much better than the studio version. I've never heard the original tho.
Been enjoying your reactions, as always, guys! This was definitely unique to me, will have to check out more myself! Deadpan Smokey is the best Smokey.
Weigh your worth before Her Majesty the Verde River!
The Rapture is excellent too!
