- The historic Plough and Harrow pub, Monknash in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. The pub dates back to the 14th century when the building was part of the old monastic grange.
The grange belonged to the Cistercian monks of Neath Abbey.
The Plough and Harrow is a short walk from the Glamorganshire Heritage Coast and the Wales Coast Path.
We visited midweek on a cold January day, luckily they did have an open fire in the bar. Mellissa is happy because they have pie on the menu.
We’re also joined by Sean again.

Curry! Mah- hoooooosive chips! Beer! A proper fire to cocoon yersen in front of! No Wifi! All it needs is a couple of friendly dogs to be perfect.

Went there today for the first time - had to try the food after seeing this. We had the steak & ale pie and the St. Donats lamb burger. Very tasty and great service. Will definitely go back to try something else from the menu - probably the cawl 😋
Glad you enjoyed, it's a nice place to visit in the summer too when you can sit outside.
What a superb eating pub, lovely fire too, the pub grub looks fantastic, and when you looked out back in the field behind, wow there was so much history there, totally forgotten about? glad your taking us on your tours, great stuff.

My old cottage was similar length+haunted.I bought it 4 my children when they were 3.Sadly as i left it so long empty it kept getting burgled+instead of renting it out i foolishly sold it.Terrible tales you spoke of @Pirates,makes me sad for refugees who tried 2 enter uk.

Don't know if any are related. This one is listed as being in Cowbridge, UK.
Plough and Harrow is a common name for a pub.
Hello from the States. Yes, another pub lunch in sunny Wales. A little bit of history of the area and the food looks great. Sean’s lamb cawl looks especially delicious. I saw on the menu ‘Barratt’ special homemade faggots served with mashed potatoes and onion gravy’. Is that sausage and mash? Anyway, enjoyed the video as always. These videos along with the Marcus Walks videos help keep my spirits up during the winter. Take care, be safe and stay well.

That looks yummy. Is Port Nash Light house near by? If so I have been here. It is a wonderful place.
Yes - The lighthouse is about a 45-minute walk away.
That’s not a pie though, that’s stewed meat with a puff pastry top. A pie should be capable of being picked up & eaten by hand, so fully enclosed in (preferably) shortcrust pastry.
That's also the view of the food critic Jay Rayner, he says a pie is something you should be able to pick up and throw at someone
