Kirby, your London content is out of this world. Absolutely outstanding. You genuinely know more about the city than many who live there, and certainly produce more fascinating and informative videos than others. I hope you continue to produce London content as there is so much to cover! Private members clubs, ancient shops and wine merchants, historic bars, traditional pubs, and of course the clothing and tailoring scene. We welcome you back to the city at your earliest convenience. You are an honorary Londoner as far as I’m concerned!

I too have had the pleasure of dining at Rules, with their history and importance to details I was a bit disappointed in their spelling of whiskey, in reference to Scotch Whisky on their drinks menu, ie Macallan, etc. Scottish whisky or Irish/American Whiskey is the correct spelling. As a Gunn, you no doubt will know and agree. 😀

It's lovely to see that the art of being a gentlemen has not completely vanished in this modern age, I would love to see men embrace this philosophy and way of life.

The mixed grill (at Wilton’s) is to die for Kirby. They have never let me down. At Rules I always start dinner with an excellent ‘Old Fashioned ‘. Can it get any better?

Two of my best dinners were at Simpsons and in a private room at Rules.
Fantastic food, service... and great company.

Good selection - and pleased to see Sweetings on the list. I've eaten there 20+ times and it's always a treat. NB, it is only open at lunchtime. Oh and what you showed as a red grouse is actually a pheasant!

Have you got the right Simpsons ? Simpsons Chop House in Balls Court, Cornhil dates back to 1757. Simpson's on the Strand is a relative newcomer.

The Simpsons you mention certainly is old! However I am correct in the Simpsons I was meaning. This one is the Simpsons that is famous for their Sunday roasts, and Sherlock Holmes. I think they were established in 1828, so I guess that is a newcomer compared to 1757!

After your mention, I read the Dying Detective short story. Simpsons is right there in the last sentence. Thanks for this. Enjoyable video.

Didn't even need to click on this to know that Rules would be No.1! You have to try the jugged hare next time, it's delicious. Excellent summary of quality restaurants that any chap will like.
