Thank you for showing this to us, it's indeed an impressive van.
I have to be honest, this is my favorite camper I have seen to date. I have watched a thousand or so vehicles and this one matches me. Thank you so much for the tour.

DAMN!!!! 25 mpg?? 800 mile range?? This thing is amazing. And everything is so well-built. I guess it's true what they say about German engineering and build quality.
Yeah, Blake - cars with a low mpg are extremely unattractive over here. In Germany/Europe, fuel is relatively cheap at the moment, BUT even Diesel is around 4,50 $ per gallon - Gasoline is even approx. 15% more expensive. So you HAVE to build efficient cars, otherwise you won´t sell a single one. Example: At a normal average german highway speed of around 95 mph, my 2017 VW T6 Bus (2 ltrs Twin-Turbo TDI with 204 hp - similar to the one in the video, but the new type and without 4WD) drives around 25 mpg. Driving at 75 mph, it´s 30 mpg. With a bus of 2 tons and 8 seats and a top speed of 127 mph! Those modern Diesel engines are fast like hell and have excellent mpgs.
That thing is built like a tank compared to what exists here in the states. The craftsmanship on everything is so fine, well thought and the materials are real durable. That's a serious RV right there.
Very cool camper van. Owner seems like a super chill guy! Such a well engineered rig! My mom has a Rialta (very similar to this van) and we absolutely love it! Just as mentioned in the video, Volkswagen makes high quality products. From the latches to the electrical connections every fitting is manufactured with quality and durability in mind. Thanks for taking the time to film this video and a big thanks to the gentleman who owns it for taking the time to walk around explaining and demonstrating the different functions! Loved the video! -Mark
Yes...both the interviewer and the "camper" did an outstanding job in this video. I may have to watch it again. I'm still blown away by the "amphibious" part....wow!
This is a common feature in the UK and in Europe. I own a Vw Transporter T6.1, and it's very much the same minus the gas (propane) bottles and the shower/toilet area. I purchased mine at the beginning of the pandemic for just over £50,000. These campers never lose money here in the UK. If I were to sell mine today, I could make nearly £20,000 profit. There is a BIG market for the VW Transporters, along with the community that comes with it. The gentleman in this video is a very proud man, show casing his camper, and I don't blame him. It's lovely. He's a man after my own heart, prepared for any event that could take place. Great content as always. Keep up the good work.
@divine signatures....Most Swiss speak excellent English and as their country is made up of four languages, it's not uncommon for a Swiss to be multi-lingual. This guy is from Lucerne which is the German speaking area hence his "ja ja - yes". Switzerland is predominantly German speaking, then French, Italian and Romansh which is a very tiny proportion. But this is where it takes a twist. That guy, when speaking to another Swiss-German in his own country won't be speaking German, they use a dialect called Schweizerdeutsch.....not even German people understand it. You can hear examples on YT. My ex-wife is Swiss-German from Bern and she spoke five languages fluently. It's a very beautiful country and well worth visiting for a holiday.
My son moved to Germany and he loves it. Meet a girl got married and started a family. Says he don’t want to come back he loves it. People in Germany are awesome! So kind.
This is my favorite RV tour. All the details were shown on this video. Awesome Van. I would like to have this kind of unit someday. Small but spacious inside, all the important things attached on this cool marvelous RV. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
Oh my goodness! The quality and elegance in design are wonderful. So gracious of that lovely couple and you to share with all of us. Thank you very much.
Very kind and gentle human being. Brave at the same time, he and his wife threw caution to the wind, and decided to travel to South and Central America in an RV. Bravo well done!! Life's to short n we only live once.

And I have Swiss (dual) citizenship, too!

Wow, even though this video is 5 years old, I just have to comment on the brilliant engineering. They really know their stuff. We had a Volkswagen camper bus in the '60's, and I recall how it had so many neat features for that time, but this camper with all of the brilliant details is impressive. Thank you so much, and thank you for your knowledge that helps us appreciate the workmanship and makes this enjoyable.
This camper van is Spectacular! The best I've seen so far. They thought of everything. It's a shame the U.S. doesn't build such quality vehicles or takes any pride in this type of craftsmanship. We build (who am I kidding? We don't build anything anymore) cheap stuff to last a short period of time, and then have to spend more money to have it replaced. Again, this vehicle is AWESOME! Thanks for the thorough tour 🚐👍🏽😀
There's nothing made in America anymore that spell quality. Almost everything is made in Chinaland, Indialand, or some other hot bed factory country. Our mentality is buy cheap, cheap, cheap, today. doesn't matter if it breaks tomorrow. A cultural degradation I guess. The vehicle is fantastic and the Gentleman very friendly and well educated. A ten plus in my scale.
This is one thing I like about your videos... you're very pleasant and kind to the people you interview while showing lots of enthusiasm for their vehicles. Your knowledge of vans is amazing. Thank you. 💚💙 🚐💨
Awesome vehicle. So many options on where to travel with this well constructed amphibious vehicle. I bet they are having a great time touring the US. What a nice man to show you everything. He had to do some quick conversions to help us understand metric vs non metric capacities so we could relate. Their construction is far superior to our cheap thrown together plastic that usually breaks. I wonder what his gross vehicle weight was, perhaps I missed that. Thanks for the video. I’m waiting to order my amphibious RV from Denmark. It will be a lot smaller but well worth the wait! Happy travels all & keep posting!!
Nice rig...Use of space is excellent. Very spacious and lots of storage. The milage is unbelievable! A range of 800 miles is u heard of here unless you're driving a 18 wheeler. Thanks, this was interesting. Good job Patrick.
When he turned the living space into a bed.....dayummm!!! So efficient, neat, minimal. I was expecting 5 min American style table breakdown...I need one of these asap 😍
The best in class by far and it can go places that many standard 4 wheel drive vehicles cannot with the snorkel and waterproofing. Plus 2 weeks off grid and 4 days worth of cold storage. Awesome! Thank you for the excellent tour.
This is the most talk time patrick had in all the videos I have seen on his channel, I felt his excitement and fascination when he discovered quality features on the van. The owner was adorable so as his wife, I love them.
great interview and i like that you interact with the gentleman really well. i have watched other sites where they sound like they're showing off but not you. great job!
You can always expect high quality from Germany! They make Hymer, Dethleff, Burstner, and so many other motorhomes. One issue is that the electrical voltage system in Germany is 220 Volts so you have to modify that for the US or custom build a dual voltage system. They are so far ahead of the US in build, design, and fuel efficiency. We are dinosaurs living in 1950s for our RVs! Thanks for a great tour! Very enjoyable, esp this man, who is so sweet to show us his van. Danke!
I stay in switzrland 3 years one of the most wonderful people in the world you can walk in night with 1000000 Dollars and no one will say anything itS safe country and there famous favorite word is yeah yeah :)
Indeed, this is by far the best camper van tour I’ve watched. It doesn’t take away the kudos to those who built their own vans, its a God given art too but I like its resonance with my electricity setup of 240V in Uganda. I’d like to build one too and I’ve learned a lot in these two weeks of watching.
I've been watching van and rv conversions from a long time and this is the best one I've come across so far.. you cannot make it anymore perfect.! It's absolutely precisely designed..
Very nice, gracious man. He'd be a great neighbor in a camping area. I love this camper, one of very few I truly like and one I would absolutely love to own. Not to mention being able to cross in 3 foot of water, in the U.S most of this would be plastic parts. This is definitely built to last if taken care of. I love it.
"Is there anything else you want to share with us about your van?" Let's out a long extended laugh and chuckle. That pretty much says it all, no need for words. Just laughter. I get it. Good for you and thank you sir.
Just like @Like Kane said above.....I felt like he said plenty with that laugh 😊 What I got from it is that he is loving life as he travels the world with his wife in his freaking awesome camper van!! lol, I'd feel that much joy too if I were in his shoes!
@@007nadineL To the contrary, he knew EXACTLY what he was asking him. That answer or response came from deep within his soul as a primordial expression of joy. It happend very naturally b/c it was so real.

WOW ... I have watched a lot of RV conversion videos ... THIS is what I REALLY like! The construction and materials used should make this vehicle last forever with proper maintenance ...
He is an adorable man and so very nice to allow you to take a video of this gorgeous well built camper. We should be embarrassed at the workmanship of camper vans that are made here. It’s all about the corporations being greedy!

The USA is now only 60% White and on its way to destruction.
u didn't here me we don't like to pay workers
well I think you should consider to buy one in Germany. This is the lower average here :)
I live in Denmark 🇩🇰☺️
How could you register a foreign customized made camper in the United State? What’s the requirements? It’s must even very complicated, right?
Nice rig...Use of space is excellent. Very spacious and lots of storage. The milage is unbelievable! A range of 800 miles is u heard of here unless you're driving a 18 wheeler. Thanks, this was interesting. Good job Patrick.
Totally agree!
It’s awesome. Thanks for sharing with us. That gentleman is really been kind. Keep smiling!!!
When he turned the living space into a bed.....dayummm!!! So efficient, neat, minimal. I was expecting 5 min American style table breakdown...I need one of these asap 😍
Me Too, That Was Definitely Impressive.
I like that man - he was so pleasant and helpful.
The best in class by far and it can go places that many standard 4 wheel drive vehicles cannot with the snorkel and waterproofing. Plus 2 weeks off grid and 4 days worth of cold storage. Awesome! Thank you for the excellent tour.
Thanks for sharing
Fantastic unit... $120K, given the price of US conversions, this is very good value.
Correction 120 k euros
@Alan How are you doing
Hope we get to know each other with time and patience?
I think that man is The Doctor, that camper van is obviously a TARDIS, much bigger on the inside than the outside!
Beautiful, thank you to the Owner for Allowing us to See his Home !!👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This is the most talk time patrick had in all the videos I have seen on his channel, I felt his excitement and fascination when he discovered quality features on the van. The owner was adorable so as his wife, I love them.
Thank you. This is one of my earlier videos
great interview and i like that you interact with the gentleman really well. i have watched other sites where they sound like they're showing off but not you. great job!
Love European campers, thanks so much for taking us through this one! Very nice gentleman, wish he had a RUclips channel!
Thank you very much
BRILLIANT CAMPER VAN, AND A VERY SPECIAL COUPLE, MAY GOD KEEP THEM SAFE ON THEIR JOURNEY'S. X
Brilliant outdoor table design and storage. Very nice interior finishing. That couple is living the dream.
Danke!
Thank you for watching
This RV/ Motor home is beautiful! I want one like it. Well built and fully loaded. Thanks for the video
This old man so cute 😂 I'm going through comments looking for all the ones about him saying yeah yeah yup ya

A Great man visiting US with a big smile on his face.Have a wonderful time and Viel spass ( much fun).
Thank you
Thank you Switzerland, u r very kind person. Loved yr camper n I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.
Thanks for this interesting vid and greetings from Switzerland. 🇨🇭
To jednak nie ci glupi amerykanie szukaja pracy w polandii
Zygfryd Kuczkiewicz yes we do it in the mountains of Germany. he he he
I've been watching van and rv conversions from a long time and this is the best one I've come across so far.. you cannot make it anymore perfect.!
I love it.
Thank you for watching
I really like that one, the germans know what they’re doing!
Now that was cool! Thanks for making the video. These two are pretty adventurous driving through water like that. Wow.
"Is there anything else you want to share with us about your van?" Let's out a long extended laugh and chuckle. That pretty much says it all, no need for words. Just laughter. I get it. Good for you and thank you sir.
Language barrier I'm sure :-)
Just like @Like Kane said above.....I felt like he said plenty with that laugh 😊 What I got from it is that he is loving life as he travels the world with his wife in his freaking awesome camper van!! lol, I'd feel that much joy too if I were in his shoes!
@@007nadineL To the contrary, he knew EXACTLY what he was asking him. That answer or response came from deep within his soul as a primordial expression of joy. It happend very naturally b/c it was so real.
One of the best camper van I've ever seen.
Very cool to see the craftsmanship from another country. Imagine this amazing trip driving from South America up through Alaska and then across the continent!
Thank you for checking this out
The owner is such a kind soul. He was beyond gracious.
Thank you
I am from Maryland and I am very impressed with this. It is not everyday that you see something like this so thanks for sharing.
Love this guy...what a sense of adventure! From Argentina to Alaska!
WOW ... I have watched a lot of RV conversion videos ... THIS is what I REALLY like! The construction and materials used should make this vehicle last forever with proper maintenance ...
Glad you liked it!
That cpl is amazing. I wish I could hear of their adventures.
I love Volkswagens! Hey Patrick, great content, I'm glad that you didn't dismiss this vehicle when you saw it. Thanks!
Thank you it was a really good find
Excellent piece of engineering and Patrick, you’ve got so much knowledge on RVs too. Great presentation from you both. I love it.
He is an adorable man and so very nice to allow you to take a video of this gorgeous well built camper. We should be embarrassed at the workmanship of camper vans that are made here. It’s all about the corporations being greedy!

I wanted one of these until I heard the price! Folks from Europe are always so friendly!
