honestly the leusistic macaws are probably the most expensive pet parrots. They aren't even available in the states and their white and blue coloration is amazingly beautiful.
True. I met a man in the late 80s-early 90s that had one of the first hyacinth macaw in the states. He came into my business in carefree az. He had the hyacinth and another, cant remember what it was but it was a macaw. Those were the first time i saw well trained birds in person. He said the hyacinth was 40 grand. At the time you could buy a house for 60 grand in Phoenix.
His birds liked to be carried like suitcases which was good since they took up the whole store when they weren't hanging like bats.
We had a taxidermy of a juvenile golden eagle in the store and they were scared of it even though they were larger.
The stuffed golden eagle was from the 1920s. We called him dusty since we could hardly clean him without something falling off. The government would come by every year to make sure we still had it. Someone reported it in the mid 80s and they gave all this information that was wrong. Like we stuffed it and we sold one of its talens. Info that was all in the paperwork we got when we were gifted the bird.

The most expensive are the black cockatoo & the hawk head cockatoo with Hyacinthe.
I wanted a white Belly caique but ended up getting a Forsten Lorikeet. Messy but totally worth it. Love your channel

Hyacinths are beautiful but they are not the most expensive bird. If we're only talking about macaws the Spix macaw is almost extinct and in the hands of maybe 1 or 2 breeders and they are so expensive they are pretty much priceless.
Yes. You are right. Spix macaws are most expensive but also not available for the public. It’s illegal to sell and buy and hold a Spix macaw. Hyacinth macaws are the most expensive right now in the market of birds that are available for the general public.

I thought the most expensive bird was the spix macaw (idk how to spell it) worth about 200k
yes, but they are not for sale. It's illegal to own a Spix anywhere in the world. So the next expensive bird that people can actually buy is the hyacinth macaw
@@CarolinvonPetzholdt Wrong. There are racing pigeons who have sold for over 1 million dollars. There are also more exotic birds who cost more than a hyacinth, hyacinths just get the most attention.

I love your videos. Your videos got me to want to make my own channel on RUclips on my own bird Mikie except he is a parakeet not big like your birds. Your videos make me laugh. I fail inlove with your videos because of you and hope but i am scared for you doing free fly with hope because you come close lossing him, peope wanting to steal him, he getting chase by other birds wanting to kill him to eat him and comming close being attacked by dogs.
I keep on thinking oh no with this haening to him she might stop flying him for fear of losing him for good because i know after my first scare i would of stopped free flying my bird outside. You are a very strong woman to still free flying your birds after all the bad stuff that happens to them. That is i like watching your videos.
The crazy stuff you do and the things you do for birds as well for your kitten is the same i would do for them. When it comes to doing ctazy stuff i would do the same crazy things you do. I would like to meet you one day but i know it will not happen because i do not have the money. I do not drive nor am able to drive because i have seizures.
I do have one question from you . would be willing to help me learn to be as good as a youtuber as you are? I have posted two videos and one people can make comments on but the other people can't. I only ask for your help because i am a slow learner.
id be scared to fly a hyacinth, especially after the weekend we had, if someone would be so quick to steal a harlequin anyone in the know would jump on a hyacinth, we were so lucky to get bigbie back, definitely on the telemetry my heart if he was taken and not returned id never get over that..

@@CarolinvonPetzholdt i don't blame you one bit, i was to nervous to let him fly today, that and all the birds seem to be acting a little crazy with the harvest moon tonight, the wild birds and the pet birds, sprite and bigbie were so excitable today, we gave it a miss bigbie nearly lost his mind over an almond, so ill try early tomorrow see how we go..

There's a RUclips channel not specifically just birds but they were free flying there's not sure the breed but as soon as she let out fly a hawk got it. She talked to Bird tricks and she was flying at 5 pm everyday and Dave told her that BOP watch for schedules and take advantage of it. I had heard this from them before but anecdotaly. I don't free fly yet but it's something I've kept in my mind.
