Really good video with all that freight variety. This line is the GN/GE Joint line. By the way Lincoln station is a good place for photography as there are 2 centre tracks.

I was surprise Syd how much Freight train traffic gets up and down that line, I suppose it keeps it off the ECML which is a good thing for me as I don't have to see that plastic shit. Cheers Mike.
Ah, I grew up about a mile from here (the village just north), there's a white house near Papermill Lane, on Moor Lane, now surrounded be trees, you could see that from my bedroom window 1 and a quarter miles away before they built new houses in the village. Yeah this line got made into the ECML freight avoidance line around 2015, you can see there's new bridges, those were built in 2014 as the previous arched bridges weren't high enough for containers. Sleaford also had the junction east of the station (Sleaford South Junction) upgraded to carry the extra weight, as well as reinstating the double tracking over the section on the East side of the town, where the tracks split North side of town, that's where it went to single track for both west and east traffic, was like that for as long as I've been alive. After leaving via Sleaford freight goes through Spalding and then joins the ECML at the new Werrington junction near Peterborough.

I know many of the locations here (i live in Sleaford town centre) and frequent them regularly videoing, the one I don't go to nearly enough for some reason is the raised foot crossing just after Boston Road bridge heading towards Ruskington that runs next to the Eslaforde Park football ground, do you know that one?

@@antman09ful1 ah ok, this one is accessible from a footpath alongside the police station in Sleaford then past a sheep pen (!) and turn right then right again and you are at the metal swing gate, the other way is walk down Boston Road underneath the rail Bridge and turn left down a pretty hidden leafy and sometimes very slippery bank, walk alongside the pitches at Eslaforde Park then turn left and you can see the metal gate about 200 yards ahead of you, well worth a look if you are in town and it's the right time for freight, you never know you may see me there, I'm the stunningly handsome one haha 😄 😉
