I saw their video on TikTok and now here I am finishing their other videos because I am so amazed with these brothers! Kudos guys. You turned that boring-looking silo into an amazing man cave 💪.
AWSOME WORK! You guys have proved that if it doesn't the first time don't give up. Keep figuring it out until you are satisfied with the final result. I wish I had seen this video in my younger years as I also like to work off the cuff and I have learned a lot from you young bucks!
My Brothers, I am so proud of y’all working together & your creativity adjusting durning the build. I remember when I was once young & had the strength you do as young bucks. Very impressive. Great job. Awesome outcome. 💪💥
@@leif1075 We grew up on a farm so hard work was in our blood and we got used to it at a very young age and when you find something your passionate about, it doesn't always seem like work but rather fun!
This is the video that started the whole thing.I watched this video and then I binge watched all thirty two of your videos. Today. You guys are awesome.
That is an awesome project, looks awesome guys. For the heavy stone step you can use ice so you don’t smash your fingers and it slides around easy to get it into place.
Can’t believe all the progress, creativity, and hard work you have put into this build. It’s so fun to watch you guys work. The railings are a great feature and I like how you carried the same design outside.
An original beautiful staircase. At the top end of the staircase I would not make corner railings, but for the convenience of moving to the floor I would make a landing and 1 simple railing just on the side.
Good morning 🌅, nice job, it’s a pretty that the treads were not longer and scribed into the stone structure of the building, and a post fitted on top of the threaded rod, all in all a nice job, from France,
Although I’m relatively new to your posts, I’ve gone back and watched this entire build. While the roof on the silo is absolutely amazing, I am truly intrigued by your circular stairs solution. Like everything else I’ve seen so far, it is simple, elegant, and abundantly sturdy. Can’t wait for your next post. Godspeed!
I love the stair case, it’s so beautiful and really came out well! I especially love the look of the bow ties and wish every step had one added one even if it didn’t really need it.
You guys never cease to surprise and amaze me with your creativity and skills. The spiral stairs look great. The over-sized rebar is genius. I can't wait for more vids!
Love the attention to detail: putting plastic on the siding. I always tape things off, put plastic around posts, etc. Most guys I see slop concrete on everything. Good work.
This has been amazing to watch, so satisfying. The use of cracked wood scares the living daylights out of me but the bowties are a nice touch. Great work you guys can't wait for the next video!
Thank you! A lot of our lumber tends to split when we dry it in our kiln but we over engineer our lumber for the project so there is no real concern on the integrity and we also stabilize cracks with dowels, bow ties, and bolts, thanks for watching!
Great stuff guys, got one possible pro tip and that is when you're making the 2nd or 3rd cut of a section of trunk on the band saw (starting at 3:40) you can turn that log 180 degrees and put that flat cut side down on the band saw cut table/platform, then you're much closer to a good 90 degree angle (what you want) along the resulting corner/edge where the two cut sides of the log meet.
Thanks for the tip! Much appreciated, there are definitely a lot of tricks to milling wood we are still learning so please continue to send us the feedback!
After seeing the compressed reel, found and binged all 17 parts. This is absolutely amazing work, looks incredible, can’t wait to see additional “episodes”. Also, as others have noted, excellent video production / production editing. Top class work guys!
Doing this by “the wing of our seat” 😂 that an epic combination of flying by the seat of our pants and winging it. Beautiful work and skilled craftsmanship!
Cool idea , looks good . The treads are narrow , having an under cut on the front of each step ,would give a safer set of stairs . But they will work .
Hey guys, what an amazing job! You are a complete team. I haven’t even seen this on National Geographic. We are eagerly waiting for more beautiful videos. Keep it up; your work is impeccable and truly outstanding.❤
Looking great guys! I agree with what others have said with the rails, make the balusters vertical. Pain in the ass to redo, but better in the long run.
The stacked blocks looks good but you should have placed a nut or an anchor under each tread. Depending on the wood species and the grain direction, the wood can be expected to shrink from 4 to 12 percent as it goes from green to dry. In a 9 foot height, you can expect the wood at the center line to shrink between 4.3 and 13" inches.
Hi, We do kiln dry our lumber before installing and managed to get these slabs around 15% which is the rough EMC inside the silo, I sure they may shrink slightly more but nothing too significant, thanks for watching!
The Jenga steps are fiya 🔥🔥🔥!! Another amazing piece of the silo puzzle! The bros are killin it! Be safe please 🙏🏼 (macaroni 🤣🤣🤣) My relatives in Illinois call pasta, macaroni too. No such thing as too much! I could eat pasta 🍝 everyday!

Glad I found your channel, you guys do some amazing work as a fellow carpenter I really appreciate what you have built , That is one hell of a planner don't fancy the kickback with it though
I’m thinking an iron spiral staircase painted black with 2.5”-3” thick wood inlay steps would’ve tied in well with the railings. Also would allow for light to pass through the stairs.
Prolly hundreds of peeps have mentioned. But if you chamfer the inside corner of the tread so when you walk up the staircase you will avoid hitting your shoulder and it’ll make it seem like you got more space then you took off. My thought. Also I agree with the youngling and to the same to that handrail post.
You are doing a great job! Everything is fantastic. I would however carve the all the corners of the staircase and blend them in a little bit. But I guess it's more rustic this way.
Thank you! Ya I think if we built these again, we would do a little redesigning on the inside edges but for this project it ended up turning out very nice, thanks for watching!
So, I'm saying to myself... "Who makes a 53 minute video on RUclips? " .... then ..... " Who watches a 53 minute video on RUclips?" ...So, turns out the answers are the brothers ..... and me. Holy cow! What a project? I cannot fathom the price tag. Such stunning work! Keep it up. Be careful. Teamwork makes the dream work.
The stairs are beautiful! Please for children’s safety add a handrail that meets code. Also disassemble the current railings and add metal tubing over the rebar so if a child climbs on the horizontal rebar it will spin so they can’t climb up and fall over. Love the way you push through even when things go wrong!
Very creative work but i think the wood is not wide enough for foot rest and stability olso your mid post is not strong enough use one half inch steel tube i think its better,im not expert only from my view other videos from YT and a little experienced. Good Job Guys👍
I would have preferred a ready-made metal spiral stairs with a matching colour. At this time the wood spiral looks odd in shape and poor in finish. Just a thought tho I wouldn’t mind a straight elevator too. Thanks for all those magical moments, especially with the concrete. 👍👍👍👍
Most codes will not allow windows in a staircase like that unless they are at least certified tempered glass or laminated safety glass or have substantial guards. Imagine someone loses a step and then falls right through and out the window onto the broken glass.
I'm worried about the big square openings in the floors with no railings. I see some electrical violations, small stuff, not life threatening. Is this a customers property or their property? Their parents did a good job raising them, they should be proud.
@@bigredc222 Oh yeah, put a foot through one of those and you could snap it off easily. Stairs like this take more forethought than just using identical treads. Each tread should have been a different length and gone all the way out to be scribed to the wall.
I honestly thought you guys were doing a steel spiral staircase. So when you started, I was like Matt and skeptical too. But the finished result is perfect.
By welding some supports to fix on the side of the first metal roof, and bolting big wood brackets around the tower, you could shelf a deck all around it and put a door instead of the fixed window. And put glass and reclaimed windows above to grow plants. You can also replicate the centerpiece of the carpentry twice, turn them updown to make thick chandeliers, and fix them with a copper painted chain or a pipe passing through the central empty square of the floors. The base of the supports of the bannister needs an angle cut to look more organic. + steampunk stuff (copper pipes)
I hope this is your parent’s house. I will give it to you, you guys work hard but you have a lot to learn. What was the moisture content of those treads? Those stairs are not safe. Hope that is tempered glass in those windows. That rebar railing should look real good when it rusts, should give it a nice patina. The rebar in the concrete needs to overlap 24 inches.
Hi, We do have lots to learn! We do kiln dry our lumber and managed to get these slabs down to about 15% which is about the EMC inside the silo. Stairs are not fully complete, we still have to install custom curved handrails going down (stay tuned!) We are also aware that all glass needs to be tempered that is less 24" AFF or steps. This 1" rebar comes with a coating directly from the factory so it should hold up well but we can always add a finish later on if needed. We did add some more rebar to the patio for increased overlap after we drilled into the surrounding foundations and slid the rebar in, Thanks for watching!
Absolutely loved the earlier roof construction. Something bothers me about the spiral staircase but don’t quite know what. I have done similar things over my 77 yrs and they stood the test of time but they “felt right”....so I’m 15mins into this...let’s see...if you uncover a law or principle of physics you are fighting.....🙏🏾
Great job guys, I liked the part were you guys where pushing the steps in place & the edit was cut sped up and you were all 3 bopping it into place with your feet , that was hilarious. I hope the window next to the outside handrail and maybe the wood siding doesn't endup with rust pits later when the grinder shaving from cutting off the excess bolts on the base oxidizes. FYI in the future always cover anything that the grinder shavings will hit. Live and lurne is what life is all about.
Hahaha Thank you, ya those stone were definitely a challenge to move by hand and thanks for the input on grinder shavings, we will definitely take that into consideration in the future!
We did a lot of debating on making the landing bigger but because of the way we enter the staircase from the second floor, it felt natural with just the one step, thanks for watching!
@52:34 to help the esthetics of that 4x4 post just hanging there and looking unfinished, you could take a piece of that rebar and weld some plate steel sqares to them so that you could mount it vertically to one of the treads below. It would make a nice hand rail and finish the corner off nice like it was intentional.
