In Winter Soldier, Arnim Zola implied that Hydra/Shield assassinated Howard Stark. He said, "Accidents will happen" and at the same time a picture of Howard Stark came up on the screen. It was a blink and you'll miss it moment but that's why Steve said that he didn't know it was Bucky but he knew they were murdered by Hydra.

He couldn't exactly tell Tony that though. "Oh yeah, by the way, my best friend from WW2 got turned into a brainwashed HYDRA assassin and killed your parents. Cap’s shield that was made by Howard Stark in the MCU is simply made out of Vibranium just like Black Panther’s suit.
In the comics however, it was actually American metallurgist Dr. Myron MacLain who was tasked by the US government to create a near indestructible substance as a use for tanks during World War II that created the shield out of a Vibranium/Steel alloy mix plus a third unknown substance that mixed everything together when he fell asleep, and because he fell asleep he never found out what the third component was nor was able to replicate the shield again, and ended up calling it Proto-Adamantium (which incidentally, pure Adamantium is also what Wolverine’s claws and entire skeleton are made of as well). Adamantium is even harder than Vibranium by the way, so if his shield was made just like how it was in the comics, Thanos would’ve never been able to break it with that other weapon of his…

Ross showed a lot of footage, but he overlooked Thor’s fight with Malekith in London, Hulk vs Hulkbuster in Johannesburg, and the Avengers vs Ultron and his sentries in Seoul.
Steve and Tony swapped ideologies. There was a time when Steve trusted the government, but the times have changed in more ways than one. After what happened with S.H.I.E.L.D. in the present, he knows better than to trust the powers in charge.
As for Tony, he always did what he wanted and refused to listen when people tried to dissuade from going overboard. He’s late but he’s finally starting to take accountability and wants to able to continue as Iron Man.
Vision delivered a good argument without being hypocritical. He literally knows his own strength. To ordinary people, he’s basically god-level like Thor.
For Sam and Rhodey, they didn’t have much of a choice. Even if they did, they were still gonna side with their respective best friends - and not just because of their friendships with them. Rhodey, for instance, is still an active member of the American military whereas Sam has seen the things that Steve saw during the HYDRA uprising.
The language T’Chaka spoke is Xhosa. It’s widely spoken in South Africa which is where his actor John Kani is from.
Zemo’s actor Daniel Brühl grew up speaking German through his father. He also learned Spanish and Catalan from his mother. Daniel reprised his role as Zemo for the German dub.
Sebastian Stan is good at speaking Romanian because he grew up in Constanța, and unless I’m mistaken he did his own motorbike stunt.
The elite death squad included some of the actors’ stunt doubles at the time.
In a deleted scene when Clint and Nat were fighting:
Nat: Don’t you think Laura would be disappointed?
Clint: Who, in me or you?
In another deleted scene, Nat watches the fight in horror after recovering from Wanda’s attack. While evading War Machine, Cap loses his shield. Bucky grabs it and throws it to War Machine. It bounces off of him and Falcon throws it back to Cap.
    Cap: Nice save.
Bucky: I gotta get me one of those.
What’s most interesting about Zemo is that he messed with the Avengers without laying a finger with them. CinemaWins goes into further detail as to how and why his plan worked.
In the Latin Spanish dub, when Tony grabs Bucky in the silo, the dialogue gets changed a bit but holds the same meaning:
Tony: Do you at least remember my parents?
Bucky: I carry them in my mind, too!
I also think that Nat and Sam knew about it as well. Nat was with Steve when Zola showed them the article. She also dug up some info on Bucky which might have included some info about that night. And of course, Sam would help Steve look for him.
“Tony Stank” is still my favorite Stan Lee cameo in terms of comedy. Also, you know it’s a cool scene when you put three legends in the same room.

He doesn't have enough information about what Bucky's been through for the past 70-some odd years. If Steve had said that Bucky was his brother, who knows if that might have caused Tony to pause. Tony already knows that Barnes was framed for King T'Chaka's death. Steve chose to go lone wolf (with Sam) to search for Bucky instead of telling the rest of the team. The Comic book artform (and by extension the movies) when done well can be a great vehicle for discussion. In that way you can see its sci-fi overlap in the way it can explore themes and subject matter that is more difficult for other genres. Superman is an illegal alien trying to blend end. The X-men started as one long metaphor for the civil rights movement. Joker is an excellent view of whether individuals or society is responsible for crime, and the role of mental health and how we treat it. Winter Solider (the movie) is an excellent narrative of the surveillance/security state and "Big Brother". It allows an audience to explore issues that might split the general population without actually getting supporters of either side offended.

People usually misunderstand what she was saying and think she's telling the world to do what she wants. That's not it. She's saying that sometimes to do the right thing means going against everyone and everything. In this case Capt needs to go against the government and some of his friends to do what's right, even if that means he has to go rogue and become a criminal in the eyes of society. And that takes a lot of strength and courage.

Both Tony and Steve had valid points of there stances. Tony wanted someone to hold the leash because in his hubris he went overboard created Ultron and it destroyed Sokovia, yes we can easily say Wanda was to blame for the vision but it wad Tony who made the conscious choice to plug the sceptre into an otherwise faulty program he never even asked input of the rest of the team he manipulated Bruce simply as a means to his end. And what does he do later he tries it again with Jarvis assuming with no cause the outcome would be different. Its a miracle Vision didn’t become another killing machine.
Steve also has a point too. After Winter Soldier with SHIELD secretly being Hydra Steve no longer trusts institutions to tell him what to do if a person like Pearce can come off as a good guy with evil motives whose to say one person in this panel won’t do the same.
Few things about the movie Tony’s ‘olive branch’ was a lie. RDJ himself said Tony had no intention of following through with anything he promised Steve. He was just saying whatever he could in order to convince Steve to sign. This is confirmed in a delete scene that shows that Everett had already agreed to release Bucky into T’Challa’s custody, which Tony would know.
As for Steve knowing about Bucky and Tony’s parents. According to the Russo brothers, Steve’s initial answer to Tony that he genuinely was unaware of Bucky’s role in the whole thing and it was the truth. The most he knew was Hydra was behind it and that was only from what Zola said in Winter Soldier. It also wasn’t a conscious decision to keep it from Tony, he just didn’t think about it. Steve knew Hydra might be involved based on Zola's word, which was before he found out Bucky was the Winter Soldier, but that was all Steve knew for sure. Steve didn't know if Zola was just screwing with him or not until the bunker he was being honest when he said he didn't know it was Bucky he never revisited it, he never thought about it again until he saw that video.
Now I am not Anti-Team Tony or Anti-Team Cap. The main reason for this is the Accords they don’t offer oversight, they offer control. The Avengers cannot make a move without asking the UN, who aren’t known for speedy decisions. How many lives do think would have been saved in previous MCU films if the Avengers had stopped to ask for permission? The Accords are a deeply flawed and unconstitutional piece of legislation that should never see the light of day and the start of a dictatorship I mean it denies people lawyers for one so that is unconstitutional as it gets. I’m anti-Accords especially when they are coming from a thoroughly corrupt man like Ross. People like to pretend what Ross did in ‘Incredible Hulk’ doesn’t count.
Movie also is the MCU introduction of T’challa AKA Black Panther. I really loved how he serves as a counterpoint to Tony in this movie. Like Tony he is pissed because he believes Bucky killed his dad and he will let nothing and no one get in his way for revenge. When the stuff in the bunker pops off and T’challa is confronts Zemo he has the chance to avenge his father but seeing the damage his path to revenge caused seeing how its effected the Avengers T’challa stands down and listens to reason. It was in this moment that T’challa wasn’t an impulsive prince but a wise king.

I do enjoy watching people take the MCU journey for the first time. Especially without much comic knowledge. Its a pure experience. You're able to let things unfold naturally before your eyes. Now Civil Wars central conflict is ideological, a debate over freedom vs. security, Cap believing more in the freedom of heroes and Tony believing in accountability, Both are reasonable positions to take & that's what makes it such a great movie. It makes you the viewer choose within your own personal ideology & This shows that these movies within the MCU can be meaningful, both personally and politically. It's not your simple black & white, good guy vs bad guy story. Even Ta'Challa realized it at the end. With that said, keep doing what you're doing, you two 👏

They are the ones who tried to nuke New York City and Hydra was working, in hiding, inside the Government for years without getting caught. Ultron is a result of Wanda mind fucking the avengers, too. Tony had the idea for ultron, but it was just an idea of how they could protect earth, only she caused Tony to see all of their deaths and the warning of Thanos. And of course he reacted as expected to try and prevent it. Bruce also helps to make Ultron. yet he and Wanda skate by on any blame from Captain America or anyone else, whatsoever, instead it all gets put on Tony and he accepts all of the blame for it. When really Wanda was working with Claw, and later Ultron, and she mind raped all of the avengers to ensure they relived or experienced terrible things, like Black Widow’s painful sterilisation, or sending the Hulk on a murderous rampage in Johannesburg.
And in Tony’s case he saw them all die, but nobody ever mentions that part or Wanda vital role in his decision.
And as Tony said in the movie, it was only a prototype model he made, Ultron built himself from that prototype which shouldn’t ever have been possible to begin with, but likely was because of the mind stone being in Loki’s staff.

I think that Tony would build Ultron no matter what at some point . There isn't quite a good or bad version of the serum. The german scientist in the 1st Cap film explained it. The serum amplifies a person's characteristics. So good people become great people, bad people become worse people. Since the other Winter Soldiers were Hydra's main hit squad, they were already evil and murderous, so they became mindless killing machines with no regard to life. But Steve was already a good man, so he became a honorable fighter that defended against evil people. Same with Bucky until he gets brainwashed with the coded words that turns him into a killing machine.

25:40 Well Spider-Man does start off in high school. So they actually had it his age he's supposed to look like right in this one. Although I wish they'd stop redoing the high school bit every time they do Spider-Man

I won tickets to the premiere of this movie and loved it. I love the chemistry between bucky and Sam and Giant man ( ant-man) I was not expecting that at all. I believe originally they weren't sure yet if they could get a deal done with Sony to use Spider-Man so that's why they added Black Panther and then when the deal was done the stuff with Black Panther was so good they just kept them both in it.

One thing ive noticed alot of youtubers either forget or dont mention. But 8:17 the footage they show .... 1. The government was gunna nuke New York, 2. The Helicarriers would've killed millions of people thanks to the Hydra agents in SHIELD and 3. Rumlow would killed a lot of people on the ground had Wanda not done what she did. I'm surprised none of the avengers point that out

The scene with Scott inside Iron Man's armor is a nod to an issue of Iron Man from the late 70's-early 80's. Tony is hurt & unconscious inside his armor, and SHIELD can't figure out how to get him out ( without killing him) so they can provide medical support. Scott as Ant Man enters the armor through a boot thruster & is able to work his way up inside the armor to open it. At one point he has to deal with the armor's fire suppression system.

This is in my top 5 or 6. It is hard. Avengers, Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War, Guardians 1 (I still like it the best of the Guardians although 3 was great), Antman, Iron man 1, Guardians 3, Spiderman No Way Home, and Dr Strange are all terrific and probably my top ten right now (pretty much in order until the last few which could go almost any order). All these movies are really good to great to near perfect.
I am team Cap all the way. Tony is too emotional. He fought CA and WS even when he knew WS was forced to kill his parents. That must suck but he has to control himself enough not to fight. Same thing with the Sokovia Accords. He just signs them because he is feeling guilty. It was not his fault really but he feels it is because the meeting the mother and her grief put him over the edge.

Don’t know if anyone highlighted it. The reason cap knew about Tony‘s parents was he saw in winter soldier when the Zola AI was showing/everything Shield/Hydra was responsible for while he was asleep in the ice was the death of Howard Stark and his wife. The file never specifically shows the winter soldier did it, but Hydra initiated it all and made it look like an accident.

Regarding the Superhero Problem, it's true that superheroes spawn the creation of the supervillain, but then you're kinda stuck. Removing the superhero isn't going to remove the supervillain. Putting Batman in jail isn't going to make the Joker go into retirement, it'll just make it that much easier for him to take over Gotham.

    • @daleunderwood7407
      @daleunderwood7407 Год назад +5

Yes but you forget the initial rise of Heroes is because of the Villains. There's no hero without the villain being established first, the hero is the response to bad behavior and criminal acts. But I do agree with you, you remove the hero that does nothing but make villains more prominent and undeterred. It's kind of like the gun control argument in real life. If the government forces gun laws all it does is restrict responsible gun owners but it does nothing to stop criminals from getting guns so now citizens don't have guns but the criminals and the government do. But we all know criminals don't go robbing the government they rob the citizens. That kind of society wouldn't make sense either unless society believes only the government and criminals should be able to defend themselves while the average citizen is just left as prey. But hey we live in a complicated society.

I don't think it's the least little bit true that superheroes spawn the creation of supervillains. Cops don't spawn the creation of criminals. You can't blame one person's evil on another person.
