The Gibson Girl image was that of a lady who wore the latest fashions and always looked stylish as portrayed by the pen-and-ink illustrations of artist Charles Dana Gibson during a 20-year period that spanned the late 19th and early 20th centuries

So lovely to see them laughing with each other. So often what we see in photography is, by necessity, so stiff and posed and solemn. It's easy to forget people are people, and those from the past were every bit as silly and fun as anyone today.
