Thanks for the review. I'm upgrading my Galaxy Watch5 Pro to the Galaxy Watch Ultra. I'm 70 and won't be running any marathons in the near future and wanted to get my health data more concise as well as a larger display for my eyesight. I always wear my watch and only take it off when charging. I get my Ultra day after tomorrow and really looking forward to the adventure.
Was an android user for 13 years and switched to apple two years ago (iPhone 14 PM/AWU1). I used to hate apple, but felt good after making the switch. Lately, I’ve been finding myself more frustrated with some things on apple and am intrigued by the Samsung Watch Ultra. May consider an ecosystem switch again in the future if the second gen of the Samsung Watch Ultra is a good follow up device.

Quick question, so which watch would you trust the most when doing cardio, such as running for HR tracking as well as steps taken; Apple watch or Galaxy watch ultra?
I appreciate Apple devices. They look good. I like their if it works approach to design. But... I don't use Apple products. So that made me buy a Galaxy Watch Ultra easy. Outside the orange band pairing and orange button. I don't see the similarities, nor has anyone noticing me wear my Galaxy Watch Ultra. Then again, I went with the silver and orange trail band. 2+ 'ish' days of battery and ability to manage my podcast, including phone calls on the go, is a plus. Having the help apps naturally accessible is a great thing. I don't care much for them but they are a swipe away with whipping out the brick I call my phone. S24 Ultra. One critique I have for both is their misleading sizing promotion. Ultra 2 is not a true 49 and the Ultra is more of a 44. Very noticeable for me from my years wearing 51-30s.
Would highly appreciate any feedback when it comes to the heart rate accuracy on the galaxy watch ultra, specially during weight lifting ( chest / Biceps / and such ). I am asking because my Fitbit sense 2 logs a steady 85-100 range during my workout, while my galaxy ultra logs 95-145. Got my ultra and upgraded from my Samsung watch 4 classic, though missing the bezel physically, but still it feels much upgraded and a beast, the screen is freaking awesome, plus the ability use whatsapp, internet is very handy than apple watch and also using apps are convenient with very durable, bought for 580 SGD (equivalent to CAD as 1:1 for ref) with trade in and multi buy offer and education store, so feels worth it for me. A big win but would have been total domination if they had the physical bezel too.
Hi guys the momentum sport earbuds gives you skin temp and heart rate during exercise. For athletes it may be useful to pair with your watch bike comp etc. Sadly the apple watch ultra and Samsung watch 7 ultra from 2024 only give skin temp changes during sleep but the Polar temperature sensor is so accurate that it matched the digital thermometer that I tested on myself during my training. It is a really high quality temperature sensor and endurance athletes win or lose races off of core temperature over or under heating

That run tracking data was interesting to see. I always find it intersting that some key locations will pull certain location trackers more than others.
I have the Garmin Epic Pro but when I start a run activity mine does not say all+multiband even though it is turned on for all of my outdoor activity profiles. How did you get yours to say that?
According to another poster , the galaxy watch does not have depth sensor , so the deep diving is out apparently , no skin diving function , no doubt most people wont use that function , however , it is a point .
Had the ultra for a week, but I don't use the health features as I personally find those gimmicky. The Ultra does get 5 days worth of battery life when it's properly optimized as it fits my needs for what I'm using it for. Performance is smooth and I still got the same size battery as the watch5 pro.
I think it will be a pretty good experiment to make to take the average of the body composition measurements. Supposedly Samsung is as accurate as a dexa scan, but it will work for the top half of the body. The inbody scales are the best for a consumer base, claiming to be as accurate as a dexa too. but this gives a better estimate for the bottom half of the body, meaning your actual body fat % should be 13.2 + 21.7 /2 = 17.45 which I would say is actually close to your real body fat %.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is just around the corner and is rumoured to feature a more efficient screen and 3nm processor which will also increase efficiency. Let’s see how the battery life compares with AWU3 vs GWU.
I'm Apple for my MacBook and iPads, but when it comes to phone and watch, I have to pick Andriod. I recently switched back to my Samsung S23 Ultra after forcing myself to run the iPhone 15 Pro Max and Apple Watch 2 Ultra for about 6 months. I just prefer the Android ecosystem when it comes to the watch and phone.
Interesting you say that. I find that using my apple watch ultra 2 and 15 pro max is way smoother with the watch/phone combo. I have a 23 ultra and a watch 5 pro and pro and definitely wasn't impressed.
@@mikeh4650 Did you start out as iPhone/Apple watch user before trying the Android versions? I went from Android to Apple and there's a lot of actions and motions I find easier on Android. It may be just what we're used to. I won't pretend there are a couple of things I liked about the Apple combo, but it wasn't enough for me to keep stay with them.
@ChrisCollins001 Actually no. I've used Androids my whole life. At 45 just switched over to Apple after years of saying I would never lol . In terms of phone usage I mean honestly it's all the same shi# but combined with the watch I think IOS is just way smoother . Seems a little more professional. Idk maybe it's me.
@@mikeh4650 My gripes were more iOS than the watch. I mean, I prefer the side swipe action of the Samsung watch, the vibration is stronger, I prefer one swipe up to the apps and swipe to the side for my most used apps. The iPhone, however, I can't stand how the notifications are handled. The keyboard is trash, IMO, I'm not a fan of the App Library, I would just prefer the list of apps by default. My alarms never went off at any volume I could hear so I missed important things. I want to be able to archive my messages and that's not an option. Don't get me wrong, there are some things I admit are cool and I love how the airpods switch between devices, but the cons outweighed the pros for me personally. I have respect for both and truly believe it's up to the person to decide.
I would like to see you do an overall on the samsung so I know it's not just me! The ECG software sucks also the HR feature sucks it's not as accurate as the apple watch! Why is no one talking about this? These are major features of the watch!
I’ve had the Apple Watch Ultra since it released a couple of years ago. And while I can’t speak to the ultra 2 or the galaxy, I can say that the apple is damn good. I also have the Garmin Marque Athlete and getting a month out of a single charge is unbeatable. But aside from that my Ultra is what I wear anytime i go out.
Thanks Shervin, always love and apprexiate your reviews. I'm currently trying to decide between my galaxy watch and apple watch. Its a tough decision. But there are some features on the galaxy watch that the apple watch either doesn't have or aren't as accessible. Your 'uh oh' made me laugh. Have a great day!
@@shininglightoracle4238 The worst thing of the Apple Watch Ultra for me is that ugly black bezel. This is not a problem with the Samsung Ultra. No black bezel at all. I think Apple probably will reduce it with the Ultra 3 in September.

Accuracy is paramount , it's the software that is important the other channel that make a scientific comparison shows that apple watch ultra 1 are more accurate than ultra 2 and the Se are more accurate than both forget about others 😅

Sadly I got the flue so running to test the GW ultra is not an option right now, but it meams I got time to configure it in all the way I want. 2 things I miss is the Quick button not have a crown, and boy do I miss the mechanical ring from calssic 6. With these 2 options it would have been a 10/10, now it's a 9.5/10 for me
11:41 what software do you use for this data
Finally a good review of comparing against other smartwatches, so far i only liked 3/4 videos sofar about this topic haha.
Haha what else did I miss or what did you love that I included in this video?!
@@ShervinShares i liked the sleep comparison, that i could see the Rem/deep how much it was different, and it was almost closeby, and seeing HRV/hearth rest rate insleep. Will be fun to see how VO2 max, will be.
I like the depth reviews, like with real information what you can do with it, and how accurate they are. Rest of reviewers i see its only about (squircle design copy)".
Loving my galaxy watch 7 ultra!!!
first time watching your video and I love it❤
Been waiting on this one
great comparison, Shervin
thank you Ben!
you need an orange tshirt since you have a very awesome ultra quality youtube channel...
im gonna give it a go when i get back to canada from greece...
i am trying the iphn15pm for the month with ultrawatch2....
i find i love watch but prefer my s24u so i might buy samsungs ultra watch when i get back...
mybapple ultra2 isnt supported in LTE so i have just used it based on bluetooth to phone and it works just fine..
both set ups are awesome just preference i guess...
great channel....great watches...orange is more than just a color of jello....
That run tracking data was interesting to see. I always find it intersting that some key locations will pull certain location trackers more than others.
Do HRV numbers compare Samsung and Garmin? Great comparison in the battery life department!
I like the samsung because its black. But thats just personal preference
I wish we had a black Apple Watch Ultra!
one of the best and detailed comparisons .. thank you for your effort .. the video was really helpful
I have the Garmin Epic Pro but when I start a run activity mine does not say all+multiband even though it is turned on for all of my outdoor activity profiles. How did you get yours to say that?
Great review. Samsung Rules
Your review is so helpful.
You can use any android phone to use the Samsung Galaxy watch ultra
Which one is more organize?
How did you get a graph and compare all of them
Woo! Been waiting for this video!! When’s the Samsung ring review coming out? ❤
100% percent on samsung watch 7 ultra gives me 19hrs only don't know how others getting more than 1 day
@@billsmith-rx8cg for my watch ultra is 2days
If you’re running beta why don’t you mention that as getting vitals in only in beta bro and beta is horrible on battery life
Dont think you need a samsung phone for the samsung watch. You can use any newer android phone. A few things are samsung to samsung exclusive though
Just got the black Apple Watch Ultra 2 can’t wait
Fabulous as usual! ❤️
I'm a Samsung fan , but I watch have scuba dive basic computer and that's a big deal for me .
According to another poster , the galaxy watch does not have depth sensor , so the deep diving is out apparently , no skin diving function , no doubt most people wont use that function , however , it is a point .
I just got my samsung ulyra in the mail and wow i love it cant wait to show it off to my apple sheeps friends.
The Samsung Ultra is just a newer version of the apple ultra same same
Haha 🤣 good. I just bought an ultra, I have an Apple Watch and a Samsung classic w the buds2 pro. But I’m an iPhone user.
Great comparison.
Had the ultra for a week, but I don't use the health features as I personally find those gimmicky. The Ultra does get 5 days worth of battery life when it's properly optimized as it fits my needs for what I'm using it for. Performance is smooth and I still got the same size battery as the watch5 pro.
Does the Samsung have a phone modem, meaning can I make calls during runs while my phone is at home?
@@KingFozzie1 yes
@@edu_hunk5199 now you I’m very tempted to switch over… just bc of the longer battery life.
I think it will be a pretty good experiment to make to take the average of the body composition measurements.
Supposedly Samsung is as accurate as a dexa scan, but it will work for the top half of the body.
The inbody scales are the best for a consumer base, claiming to be as accurate as a dexa too.
but this gives a better estimate for the bottom half of the body, meaning your actual body fat % should be 13.2 + 21.7 /2 = 17.45
which I would say is actually close to your real body fat %.
Why didn’t you go into detail about the AGEs function ? Or show your index ?
was waiting for you to drop this vid.😂
we here now!
Im finally glad Samsung UI is not freaking laggy on the Ultra but premium Price for the chip. Incorrect im using the watch on the Oneplus Open.
The watch 7 has the same chip
Does anybody know if the screen refresh rate is 120 hz ou 60 hz? I can't find information about it.
You dont "need to have a Samsung phone" to use the Galaxy watch.
Does it still show texts and all that jazz?
Only the Apple Watch is discriminating against other devices. Apple needs to get sued just for that.
@@3811eric nah
@@daddycastro Yeah
Yes it does
I like those glasses bro.
You’ll have to get rid of your iPhone if you switch…. I’m sticking with my Watch ultra 2, but I understand.
Also…. Samsung battery health deteriorates faster than Apple.
@@socity13 that's no true.
@@franciscolodix1214 I am a former Samsung user and I can say with certainty that it is VERY true. 🙄
@@socity13 Battery health depends on how you treated your battery. They use the same battery technology.

Super informative video, well done, thanks
I think you do the best watch comparison videos
I've always been a Samsung guy, then fell in love with apple. Now I jump between ecosystems like every other year. Im the kind of guy that buys an ipad and a galaxy tab s ultra. I can't choose lol
Love the vids
Accuracy is paramount , it's the software that is important the other channel that make a scientific comparison shows that apple watch ultra 1 are more accurate than ultra 2 and the Se are more accurate than both forget about others 😅
@@achekholbeckal889 how many percentage in term of accuracy between the two?
Anyone knows the brand of that small camera he had on his hat?
Great content. Subscribed
Great vid🔥
I feel like the Samsung Watch 7 ultra is like Gatorade. The target audience is "athletes, people who do sports and gym lovers" but man... the real users are regular dudes who are thirsty for new looks.
Last time I did a push up was like a decade ago, LOL.
You can use the Samsung Ultra with any other phone as well though, you only lose a little portion of the functions. Apple watch with android though it's a no no
First thing I hear is "You need a Samsung phone for the Galaxy watch" and I'm done watching... I'll keep using it with my Pixel 8 Pro 👍🏽
You can use the Galaxy Watch with your pixel. It works flawlessly.
Hi! I love all your videos. I love my Apple Watch!
