Hi, Johan & Malin. Great videos that I am catching up on at the moment. The best thing for securing the dinghy is stainless steel cable about 4-5mm diameter with loops both ends and a good lock. I use this setup to secure my kayak when leaving it in a public place. An alternative is go to a good motorbike shop and you can buy a device which contains the cable with both a built-in lock and an alarm. You fix the device to a solid structure on the dinghy and release the cable which unfolds/unravels to be secured to a fixed point. I use this setup on my adventure motorbike where I might go into a remote area, or just the beach, and leave the bike to go rock climbing or for a swim, respectively.
After listening to the interview you two did with "On The Wind" I immediately looked you two up on RUclips and here we are. You are producing perhaps the best-produced videos currently on RUclips. It is apparent each scene is well thought, from the openings to the closings, and especially props should go to your Editor. I know the amount of time it takes to put together a finished product and it is apparent you are putting in that time. Once again, thanks.
wow, thank you so much Mark! So happy that you found us through On the wind and that you like our videos :) We do put a lot of effort and work into them. But it's so much fun to share it :)
All caught up on videos now that I'm home from the hospital and I can't wait for the next episode! Just turned on the little notification bell so I won't miss it when it comes out! Keep doing what you do! Loving every minute of your videos ❤
So funny to see the two of you at the American chain stores we are all familiar with, BestBuy and Home Depot. I still like watching the first episodes when you are leaving Sweden in the winter wearing the flotation suits! Another great episode.
The tank on the beach as others have said, is indeed a Sherman. What a lot of people don't realize is that the Sherman was a medium tank, that was designed to engage the Panzer III and IV medium tanks (as well as Italian tanks) in North Africa, for that role they were superior to the axis armor. This model, the M4A3 had a 105mm cannon and was especially damaging against the lightly armored axis tanks. This lead the US Army to the erroneous conclusion that the Sherman was going maintain that advantage through to the end of the war. Another consideration is that the US had to ship every piece of equipment they used overseas. The Sherman being a medium tank and fairly compact meant more tanks got shipped. In the end the Sherman was no match for late war German tank designs BUT for every tank the Germans were able to field there were ten Shermans to face them. There were tremendous losses in the US tanker forces in Europe, but shortages of fuel, vulnerability to air attack and the swarming tactics used by Sherman platoons meant that many of the German tanks Shermans ran into in Europe were already disabled.
Just binged watched EP26-37 Crossing the Atlantic. Really interesting stuff. What is very noticeable (as well as everything else) is, the Swedish people's handle on the English language, it's AMAZING. Spent some time in Thailand thirteen year's ago a year after the tsunami , met a lot of "Svenskar" and they all spoke the queen's English. Well done and and happy sailing. Loved it.
I really like your videos. The photography is very good, the scenery is beautiful, and it's a real pleasure to watch two people who are laid back and who treat one another so considerately. Good stuff!
You guys are getting really good at telling an entertaining yet visually nice story. The right pace and different scenes is very pleasing. Feels like your right there with you two. Look forward to the next video. GOD bless, JC
Great video. Loved it as usual. So much fun watching. Someone is stoked to see the big city. First stop Ray Marine and Best Buy. Malin wanted to play so bad.... Crazy watching you guys fly down the busy roads.
Good afternoon I Watch you from first and slowly I m in 57 but I begin only like 3 weeks ago. Thanks for you beautifull share. If one day in Alicante Spain See you Christophe
Another perfect.....everything. Johan just needed a few hours and a pocket knife and we could have seen you two driving a tank down the beach. ,,,,,,,,,,/),,,,,,,,,fair winds.
Based on the boggie, drive sprockets, V8 gasoline engine, turret design - M4A3 Sherman. They were large by interior volume and height, small footprint. Most of the height is in the sand.
Hey guy great to see you, as usual a great video, always look forward to seeing y'all. I really like Puerto Rico it's such a beautiful place. from your friends here in Central Florida safe travels
That particular tank is an M4 (105). These were fitted with a 105mm howitzer instead of the usual 75mm main gun. The mantlet at the turret end of the barrel is unique and distinctive on these tanks, making it an easy identifier. There are 2 hoist rings at the top of the mantlet, while the M4A3 had only one. Also there are 4 screws in the mantle which are visible in the closeup at 2:27. Also, you mention that the gun is about 4 inches diameter (roughly 100mm), while the 75mm main gun would be about 3 inches.
Really enjoy you guys!Your out there really doing it.Wish you could come up to Maine, wife and I would love to meet you and show you our crusing ground's. Cheers... Steve.
Ahh Johan you were in the Royal Swedish Army (Cavalry). I'm an Ex-Royal Dutch Military guy myself (infantry) but my brother was in the Dutch Royal Cavalry he was in a Leopard 2 tank as the driver, my other brother was a Royal Dutch Navy diver, he's a commercial Master diver now and sometimes gives lessons to the Aruban Royal Dutch Militia and the Dutch Royal Marines on Aruba and Bonair and he's an Auxiliary Police diver in Aruba.⬅yep, he was smart, moved to the sunny side of the Kingdom :-). Again, great video 👍 thumb's up. (the tank is a Sherman, but i'm unfamiliar with the model)
Its a Sherman Tank. The standard gun was 75mm for most variants. Later upgrades included the 76mm gun, and 105mm gun, but they were not deployed by US forces, and given away after the war, or used for target practice.
Cool to see a ship (Mimer) from Åland in your clip. I really like your channel and it is so inspiring. I am trying to sell my motorboat at the moment to be able to by a "långfärdsbåt". Wish you the best from Åland!!!
Excellent ep again! But I think "the old Swede" is starting to look like Shabby :) Time for a change. The "old swede" should be the highest flying flag of them all! ;D
Love your videos and your boat!! It’s easy to see your passion in all your travels. Was wondering what kind of boat is Ran and what are her dimensions? Length & beam? Is it plenty big enough for your blue water cruising adventures live aboard lifestyle?. Keep up with living your dreams! It’s very intoxicating and I like it. Hope to hear from ya soon. Fair winds my friends...
WELCOME TO MY BEAUTIFUL PUERTO RICO ! HOPE ONE DAY CAN MEET YOU GUYS ! WHEN YOU COMEBACK TO MY PLACE ! CAN GIVE YOU A RIDE FOR OTHER BEAUTIFULL PLACES HERE IN PUERTO RICO ! JUST LET MW KNOW WHEN YOU GET HERE AGAIN !
We are sitting here putting our pins into where you are now on our map and My 11 looks at me and says Mommy That Johan is such a gentleman. I want to sail with someone like him one day. LOL Did she mention the beach, the tank, or the other Swedish boat. No but she got what was important. Johan is a gentleman. Now we are on to watch salsa dancing. Save travels. Hugs from GA.
What interests me about the tank is that somebody went over the entire surface with paint. My question is what sort of marijuana would enable you to have the patience to paint those funky patterns on the entire surface of a defunct tank on some Caribbean beach?
Great video, as usual! Can't believe you sailed all the way from snowy Sweden to Puerto Rico! It seems like a long time ago. That water...! So jealous. We're on the same route you took initially, but we're not heading the same way. We're a youngish couple sailing from the UK to the Med on a tiny budget, on a small boat. We'd love it if you guys could check our channel out sometime x
Johan, it looks like a Sherman tank. The reason those islands aren't used for bombing practice anymore is the people of PR didn't want the Navy using them anymore so the Navy picked up their stuff an abandoned the Roosevelt Roads Naval air station with all the support personal and left. This left a BIG hole in PR's finances that has put them in deep bankruptcy. I always thought the Stridvagn 103 was a pretty advanced design for what it was designed for. But, ya can't go wrong with a Leopard....................unless it gets penetrated!(;>) I saw a Sherman on Guam that had a 20mm hole clear through the frontal armor where the driver sat. That kinda turned me against being a tank jocky!!!!(;>) As to the oil you use in the boat, Delo 400 15x40, ya can't go wrong with it. Anyway, another great video.
love your chanel..i just subscribe to your chanel..am Puerto rican but I live in New York..but if you want to eat..good Puerto rican food...eat...mofongo with chrimps..or..meat..noooo tacos...tacos are from mexico...
it is a M4A3 Sherman tank. The US refused to pay the PR Gob. to clean the entire island. They just gave a small money amount to clean the most affected area.
sure you have one of the best channels but please don't buy anything in shops with automatic cashiers or choose the cashiers with persons . your are reducing jobs!!!!
She needs to go shopping Johann , another very fine video, thanks

It's a Sherman tank, badly weathered 😄 and a wee bit sandy in the engine area.
Its a Sherman Tank. The standard gun was 75mm for most variants. Later upgrades included the 76mm gun, and 105mm gun, but they were not deployed by US forces, and given away after the war, or used for target practice.

That Captain's hat really suits you!
Sure hope you didn't anchor and go ashore in La Perla!🤣
nice new shades Johan ,try on a pair of Maui Jims, you'll never buy another brand again.
great job with the video
Thank goodness for HomeDepot.
Did you get the captains hat? It looked good on you.
The tanks are old shermans from WWII
It's a tommy cooker !
No, it is a ronson lighter.
Got one on display in my local town in Avranches, Fr. 1 careful owner, very low mileage. VGC.
Wish I was there...
I can't wait to see this salsa dancing......lol.....lol.....lol.....
It is an Sherman tank - and the engine is a Ford GAA v8 ..

Fair winds my friends...
Think about getting stainless cable from a rigger, to lock your dinghy.
That is exactly what I was thinking.
Super sejlads. Fik I danset salsa? Marine butikker er som en slik/candy butik... Rigtig god tur fortsat.
Your actually right on the money that's exactly what it is. I used to watch the US Navy drop bombs over on Viequez all the time.
I agree, it's an older Sherman tank
looks like a M-60 used in the korean and Viet Nam wars.
I never find what I need at West Marine either. The store I love to hate.
nice
How did you get out of the dingy when you parked by the seawll?
JIM
WELCOME TO MY BEAUTIFUL PUERTO RICO ! HOPE ONE DAY CAN MEET YOU GUYS ! WHEN YOU COMEBACK TO MY PLACE ! CAN GIVE YOU A RIDE FOR OTHER BEAUTIFULL PLACES HERE IN PUERTO RICO ! JUST LET MW KNOW WHEN YOU GET HERE AGAIN !
That's an M3 sherman medium tank from WWII. It seems very worn out.
West Marine ...the most frightening prices in yachting ......!
We are sitting here putting our pins into where you are now on our map and My 11 looks at me and says Mommy That Johan is such a gentleman. I want to sail with someone like him one day. I was in Leopard 1
Pantelis Christidis That's a while back then, we all use the Leopard 2 for quite a while now.

Anyway, another great video.
West Marine, where the boater goes to be ignored by the staff.
Tacos? PR isn't Mexico!🤣
Definately a Sherman tank ...
Heah I only go to puerto rico for tacos
Sherman
Careful walking around with a camera in old town SJ. Beautiful place but not exactly crime free.
Sherman tank world War 2
Ustedes se creen que en Puerto Rico lo que viven son cavernícolas, que se sorprenden tanto al ver los edificios.
Un exploded ordinance, tank wreckage and tracking numbers? Get out while you still can.
love your chanel..i just subscribe to your chanel..am Puerto rican but I live in New York..but if you want to eat..good Puerto rican food...eat...mofongo with chrimps..or..meat..noooo tacos...tacos are from mexico...
I certainly have no idea about the type of tank, but it is pollution for sure. It really should be removed; it is also an eyesore.
it is a M4A3 Sherman tank. The US refused to pay the PR Gob. to clean the entire island. They just gave a small money amount to clean the most affected area.
Angelo Attard it shouldn't have been left there in the first place but now it's part of the history of the island now and should remain.
oh johan that's terrible news I hope you are OK just take it one step at a time mate.Salsa dancing sucks.
Haha I know man! Thanks for the advice ;)
OK Johan did you to any torture training in the military? You just have to channel that .Try and smile and move your arms a lot you can do this!
Dogs can b so irritating...
sure you have one of the best channels but please don't buy anything in shops with automatic cashiers or choose the cashiers with persons . your are reducing jobs!!!!
