I like the lighter colour better than original darker colour. I had never heard of a combination of boiled linseed oil and bees wax before, I just knew about linseed oil.
Yes, I prefer the lighter colour too. Yes, you just do a double boil. Basically put a pot with hot water and then a bowl ovr the pot with the boiled linseed oil. As the linseed oil heats up add bees wax flakes about 50/50 ratio. Let the beeswax melt into the oil remove from heat and Bob's your uncle
Looks great! I prefer Lindseed oil and beeswax too. Every time I clean them I add another layer of wax. I've also got some made with a little bit of orange oil that works great especially if the suns out and I can let the wood warm up.
Hi Travis, I have never seen orange oil here in South Africa but it sure sounds like it would be great. I agree the nice thing with wax, you can keep putting on layers and it is much better for the wood
Hoi Tyrone mooi gemaakt zelf hou ik niet van een lichte kleur kolf, maar de video is weer heel leuk om naar te kijken. Ga zo door met leuke filmpjes maken Gr Rob
Interesting little workbench you were sitting on. Very handy to sit on and to use as a type of saw horse or a multi-function bench plus it has hangers for some tools included
@@African-Budget-Pellet-GunnerHi Tyrone , after you put linseed beeswax onto the stock , you let it dry for 24hours. That is it ? Is it good enough ? Do you need to put some kind of protection on top it ? I think I am going to give it a try. 😅😅 Thanks.
@klee2081 yes, you can leave it to dry for 6-12hrs if you have a sunny place to put it. Then just buff it with a cloth/rag and you good to go. You can also add layers, it will get a little darker with a few more layers. After buffing it will have a smooth soft touch and not plasticish
@@African-Budget-Pellet-GunnerBy the way Tyrone, did you just sand the stock twice ? The first time with 150 and the second with 360 ? I will definitely follow your way. I am a lazy guy. 😂😂😂😂😂
Hi Tyrone , I have one silly question to ask you , are you using industrial linseed oil ? Does it matter if I use food grade oil ? Have you heard of people using olive oil or macadamia oil plus beeswax for wood polishing ? 😅
Well it is an interesting question. I suppose you could use food grade oil, I haven't seen anyone use it on gun stocks though. I have seen it used on cutting boards but that is because it needs to be food safe. On cutting boards they sometimes use a mineral oil or even coconut oil mixed with beeswax. Paul Sellers uses sunflower oil on his cutting boards.
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner Hahahahaha ! 😅 That is why I think they are compatible. Who would mind if our gun stock is toxic free ? Thanks Tyrone ! 😆👊
Great job Tyrone! Looks brand new!!
Hi Anton,Thanks man, I was pretty happy with the outcome
You done a great job on the stock Tyrone. It looks a lot nicer finish than the original factory effect for sure.
Thanks Jay, glad you like it, it is actually a beautiful piece of wood once you can see it. Lots of elbow grease needed
Cracking job Tyrone, the rifle looks so much better. You’ve given me a spark to do one of my old webley’s now 👍🇬🇧.
Hi Steve, sounds like you are going to have some fun, happy to give you a nudge

Hi Rob, thanks glad you enjoyed it. I know the light colour is not for everyone
Interesting little workbench you were sitting on. Very handy to sit on and to use as a type of saw horse or a multi-function bench plus it has hangers for some tools included
It is a saw horse I built based off a RUclips series by Christopher Schwartz. I made the hole bench with only hand tools
@teddybeardiy3538 thanks for bringing it out I have honestly never seen it done like this
Hi Tyrone that looks amazing I can relate to all the sanding I still have to go a long way.
Thanks Phil, yes, I think all your sanding is going to beat mine
you did a good job , but i would have used paintstripper , 15 minutes ,all finisch removed with a softcopper brush
Hi Peter, Thanks I will remember that for next time. That varnish was a mission to get off
Nice really looks much better 👍🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯
Thanks I am glad you like it
Nice job Tyrone!😃👍
Thanks Chuck, pretty chuffed
Looks great well done 😉👍🇳🇱
Thanks so much glad you enjoyed it
Tyrone , I really need to acquire your wood skill ! 😅
Haha, no man this wasn't really skill just a lot of elbow grease
