Autumn Watercolor set by Da Vinci: my review with swatches and fall trees.

- Hello friends! I’m Elisabetta, an Italian watercolor artist with a passion and a curiosity for art supplies and pigments.
Today we I'm swatching a new Watercolor Palette by Da Vinci.
Da Vinci is a family art supplies manufacturer located in California. Apparently they are excellent but they are very hard to find here in Italy/Europe. Here is the link to their website davincipaints....
My husband Marco bought me 3 sets as a present, such a lovely thought. Today I'm swatching my third palette, the Autumn set.
I will also try a quick demo sketch.

Lovely to get a new video from you. I agree about the single pigment myth, we almost all mix to some degree or another, so that become mixed pigment anyway! More important is to know and understand what the mix is, so you do not muck it up by adding something inappropriate that will make mud. I love some of the mixes in their own right. They give a depth of colour and a complexity that singlepigments often do not have. This set is very nice, but I have too much paint already. Besides I have made a new palette only last week! Thoroughly enjoyed the video, and the little autumnal trees are fun.

Great video, Elisabetta! I love Da Vinci, they are kind of a hidden gem, but I'm in the states so the value is better here. If there are particular paints Europeans love, ordering the 37ml tubes could help preserve the value that gets lost with the shipping costs, etc. Some of my favorite paints that I think Da Vinci creates that are superior to other brands are raw umber, opera rose, yellow ochre, cerulean blue genuine, Manganese blue hue (uses some real manganese blue with phthalo blue, it's beautiful with lovely granulation), perylene green, cobalt blue, permanent alizarin crimson, benzamida orange deep, and cobalt turquoise. They also have some unique mixes to note such as Joyce's mother violet and green, soulshine, and Denise's green.

I usually prefer a Lamy Safari with deAtramentis archival ink.
Sono dei bei colori, molto usati da artisti professionisti americani ma da noi praticamente non esistono (insieme agli American Journey, Kusakabe Harmonia, Holbein). Il set mi sembra davvero autunnale 🍁 (quel Gold Ochre è super promosso)
