Even though we are familiar with the "Skinnys", I still love making them! A few I made refillable, but no one came back for the refills!😅 None the less, I keep finding joy in using my scraps and making the skinnys to fold to the side! And, yes I make the Bellyband. I look forward to watching your tutorials every day. You have mentioned how the cardstock will crack sometimes when bent. I was making a Skinny Notepad from your tutorial today, and tried putting a strip of double sided tape down on the paper before placing the spine down, using a wider piece of tape than the spine so it covers the space between the folder pieces and the spine. (I hope that makes sense.) Well, it worked! The cardboard cover for the jacket did not split. At least for one of my pieces. I hope it works for you as well.

Sherry thank you for this tutorial. I decided to try making it and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to make. I think my chipboard wasn’t medium weight but it still turned out beautiful in my opinion. Thank you again and I’ve really enjoyed your videos. Can’t wait to try something else.
Let me add, I’ve been a crafter of all kinds of things over the years but have never attempted your craft. I currently make A2 greeting cards, and have most of the items necessary to start creating your gorgeous paper items. I often purchase smaller items like tape, half round gems, metal pieces and parts from AliExpress. Takes a while to arrive, but good pricing on many items. As soon as my chip board and glue arrive from Amazon, I can start creating. Again, thanks for great instruction and sharing.

Awesome way of showing how to do this, have you thought of putting a skinny piece of elastic around the book having the ends meet in the front and putting a tag over it like the one you used here. I finally found the drop down on what supplies were used and were to get them...lol

Very cute dear! I'm always looking for a way to have a small pad of paper around and one that can hold receipts too. I appears the width size of that pad would be perfect for holding receipts, so I will try one adding a flap to the front cover that will close over the receipts - that would be perfect!!! I just can’t seem to cut those pads in half so they look nice. Maybe my hands aren’t strong enough
I love your projects! Been watching you exclusively lately. I’m having trouble with my paper cracking when doing anything that requires scoring and especially doing these notepads when I use chipboard. I have researched everywhere and have followed advice given from a multitude of online crafters. I just started doing paper crafting within the past year. I notice you often use double sided paper, but when I use double sided paper it makes bending the spine even harder, which makes it crack more. Could it be the paper quality? I recently bought a lot of Cricut paper that was half off. Is Cricut more for cutting and not paper folding? What paper do you recommend? I would appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks so much! Mary P.
Hi, paper cracking can occur for a variety of reasons and with a variety of paper types. Adding more space when working with chipboard might help. Scoring then flipping the paper and scoring the other side might help. Since I am not there to observe your papers or processes, this is the best educated guess I am always to make. Hope it helps.

I know you use a variety of paper but I missed whether you use a paper weight or a card stock weight.
Paper is up to you. I use all weight when using chipboard.
Can you use thin pieces of cardboard instead of chipboard ?

What if I can’t find reptile glue? Do other glues work?

I love these so much! How can I attach a pen to complete this gift?
I bet you can use the paper, use a strip long enough to do a loop big enough to hold the pen and then adhere the strip to the middle of the book. I would probably attach that before I attach the paper to the inner cover. Her example would be, to attach that loop strip before using the Brown strip paper.
I just get adhesive pen loops on Amazon. They stick right on and work great.
