Very useful video as I'm planning to upgrade my 2018 TCR as well with the R8070 groupset. 2 questions: * which tools did you use to remove and install the bottom bracket? * which parts did you use to mount the Di2 battery in the seatpost and where did you purchase it? Thanks, br
The tool used to remove the bottom bracket is: amzn.to/3lclTwx The tool used to install the bottom bracket is: amzn.to/3qnxH0U If you search TCR DI2 on this website you will be able to find the parts you need including frame plugs and grommets and battery mount. www.giantbikespares.com/search.php?k_m=Tcr+Di2
Bit late to this but great video, ( i got lost on the cabling side of things). Im looking to get a used Orbea Orca m20 disc with 11 speed mechanical ultegra r8000 with a 11-32 cassette. Am i right in thinking the di2 ultegra upgrade kits are only 12 speed?
It depends on the model of Ultegra, this kit was 11 speed, the new kit is 12 speed. With the 12 speed kit the levers are wireless so you won’t need to worry about connecting them to the battery.
Hi there. Very interesting video. I’m doing the same to my TCR of the same vintage. Did you get something to cover where the mechanical gear cables enter the downtube? And did you get specific gromits for the di2 hole under the top tube and the hole at the derailleur end of the chainstay? Nice handlebar drilling too. Thanks so much for the video.
Hi thanks for watching. All the grommets and covers can be found online here: www.giantbikespares.com/search.php?k_m=Tcr+di2 Have a great day and remember to hit the subscribe button to support the channel 👍🏻
@@TheCycleRenovator Ahh. I love that site. I used it to get all the weird proprietary frame bits when i built my TCR after buying a naked frame off eBay. Cool, I was just interested to know if you’d bought the special grommets etc or butchered the ones you already had. Lovely bike btw. Will defo subscribe.
Amazing I have the same color 2017 TCR on 105. I'd really like to do this update. What is that bit holding the battery in the seat post? Also how do you know how many and how long cables you need? Are they already the correct length with the Di2 groupset?
The part that holds the battery is an Internal Battery Holder If you search it it should come up no problem. The cables lengths depend on your frame size, I measured the distances on the frame ahead of ordering the cables. Remember to allow a little extra length for fitment.
Is there enough tire clearance in the front and the Rear area to accommodate the famous conti 28mm tire specifically the continental grand prix 4000sii 28mm which expands to about 31mm. even if It barely clears any idea if it does
Very interesting. Bravo from Greece and looking forward for the next episode...

I brought all the right grommets and plugs including the battery holder for the seat tube.
Did you have by any chance the parts numbers i want to do the same and i don’t know all the parts what i needed. Please thank you .

If I recall correctly 25mm is the maximum this would fit.
If I’m doing a 1x drivetrain can I just buy a right shifter?
You will need a left shifter for the brake, the di2 shifters are different looking to the mechanical shifters.
34 rear cassette, KOM, spin to win climbers bike 🚲 ♥
It climbs like a mountain goat 🐐
I'm doing the same swap/Di2 upgrade to my 2020 Ciocc Ryden. With the 34 cassette you had to go long cage rear derailleur didn't you?
@@lilhavin yes long cage RD.
did you drill a hole on the handle bar?
Yes to enable the cables to be internal, the bars were aluminium.
The music is so annoying!
What type of music would you prefer?
