You can get the M4 iPad here, they are starting to go on sale: 2024 13" M4 iPad Pro: amzn.to/3V6onPu 2024 11" M4 iPad Pro: amzn.to/3ULXkHM Apple Pencil Pro: amzn.to/4asL9Fq Using the links do help support me in continuing to make videos like these, much appreciated. I think, in a month from now when my schedule is better, I will try to do a Final Cut Pro review on the M4 iPad Pro if anyone is interested in that.
@@soto9128 I’ll consider it. I was actually supposed to test out the galaxy tab S9 FE before the iPads came out but they lost my package so I never ended up having time to do it.
Ugh believe me. I would upgrade if I had the funds (not necessarily to the latest m4, but the m1 model); I will have to stick with my little iPad 9th gen until it dies lol.
If you are in the US, you may be able to find an M1 Air for $399. The value is actually insane for that. I upgraded my brother’s 9th gen to the M1 Air. I think Apple’s trade in gave me $170 which I put toward my M4 iPad Pro and just gave him the money for the Air. Nothing wrong with the 9th gen. $230 difference just seemed reasonable to do.
Worth considering when last date of OS upgrades. Although many still get security updates for many years, they may not get the full OS updates with new features. -- My personal example is the 9.7 iPad. it will not get 13, and it's last security was at 12.5.7. I upgraded back then also because some of my apps no longer supported that OS version.
I am waiting till later this year to upgrade from my M1 M4. I just need more memory and I want to see if Procreate uses all the new features of the IPad Pencil Pro. The main reasons I would upgrade to the M4 is more memory and the newer features of the IPad Pencil Pro with the barrel role and the new screen. More Ram would be nice to get more layers for Procreate just not sure it's worth that huge price bump to get to 1TB.
i just got mine around a month ago and when i finally got my apple pencil i decided to draw and my battery drain really fast (it take around 2 min for 1% battery) i searched around and someone suggested to restart the ipad and it does help but for some reason its back to its 2 min 1% drain (this is after like a week or so after restarting it- and also when it was "fixed" it takes around 5 min for 1% to drain)- idk what i did wrong. turned of the background apps thing and i set auto brightness and im not opening any other apps when drawing 😭 i hope they somehow fix this on the next os this is my first ipad but ive heard theres times os update helps with battery life problem
Does setting a project to DCI-P3 have an impact on the ram usage/layer limit? If not, is there an option to set the bits-per-channel/color depth and what are the effects?
Best video ever, I am also an artist and I was thinking of buying ipad pro, But Had a lot of doubt in my mind. Thanks to you I mad up my mind. I am gonna invest in this device.
I think I am more sold on OLED at this point. I dont think there's gonna be much fomo if you already developed an efficient way to draw with what you have though.

I am interested! Also, have you thought about reviewing the magic drawing pad from XP pen?

Yes pls
Have you tried Art Studio Pro for more layers on larger canvas size .
No, I only use procreate.
my ipad pro coming in on tuesday!! Thank you for the informative video
Appreciate it! Enjoy your new iPad! It’s a great device 👍🏻
With the advent of good-quality upscale AIs, it's less important to have a huge canvas - I prefer to have more layers.
What upscaler actually gives quality results??? I’ve been majorly dissatisfied with the ones I’ve tried

Please tell layer count of ipad air 5
It would be the same. They both have 8gb of ram.
Hello thanks for the video.
Quick question - what screen protector are you using ? Does is degrade the screen quality ?
@@LukaS_VisualArt I talk about it in this video. ruclips.net/video/5JM5vwydgKs/видео.htmlsi=qzJ3HHUoojQ4S7ru
could you do a review on elecom paperlike screen protector? The smooth one.
Nice comparison!
should i be worried about burn in issues with ipad pro's oled screen?
It’s too early to tell but burn in typically has been less of an issue on smaller screens like this and phones nowadays
no protective paper on the ipad? THANKS
I used a removable one for some portions of the video but just ended up using a tempered glass one for 95% of the video.
i use an m2 pro but i really like the new pencil, but i can’t justify a new ipad just to use the pencil🥲
