Also backed the Kickstarter, got my ring fine. Was too big and was able to get my correct size from another backer. Ordered one for my girlfriend November 14th (8 days ago). Shipped from Hong Kong on the 19th and is currently in California. I also originally ordered the wrong size for her and they responded to my email and cancelled my order. I would just charge back if I were you and they weren't responding

They have added one new paid metric since launching that you can unlock with a subscription for "Cardio Adaptability" with an AFib Detection one coming soon...but they have also added many free ones as well. Such as cycle tracking, pregnancy insights, Vitamin D, circadian alignment, caffeine window, etc.
@@the_indie_army The question is, can I have all the free stuff without an account, without cloudsaves? Does process the data on device without cloud? Or am I at the mercy of them not altering the deal?
Alarming that they spend their money on advertising and taking even more orders when they did not fulfil orders from kickstarter made years ago. Saying everything i need to know about their customer service and their priorities.

One thing I like about Oura is that when I come back to the app next day, it tells me the activities I did yesterday and asks me to confirm them. Pretty low effort, which works for me. Does not track everything, but generally I just care about my runs and bike rides.
Been pretty happy with my Garmin watch, personally. I was looking for a privacy-respecting medical and notification device and landed on that, and happened to get 30 days battery so sleep tracking is no problem.

Very short video. It also seems odd that Linus wouldn't turn on the sleep apnea monitoring. I have sleep apnea and I resisted a diagnosis for a while but it got to a point where I had to get some answers for the tiredness.
That 90% of accuracy statement is basically useless. If about 10% of all people have sleep apnea, that means I can have a device declaring everybody free from that and have 90% accuracy. These claims should include false positives and false negatives. Otherwise it is marketing BS.
That was funky-I started watching your video on RUclips TV, and at the very beginning, everything was hue-shifted, giving you a sickly green glow. For a moment, I thought it was part of the act! Then I double-checked by watching an older video from your history, and everything was back to normal. Honestly, the green sickly look might’ve been a good thing-it definitely grabbed my attention!
After this video I got intrigued by smart rings and did some research and settled on the ringconn 2 mainly cause of the no subscription. Put my order in on Dec 11th and got my ring today the 23rd. Not too bad considering its coming from Hong Kong and its around the holidays. So far I liked the different features and things it tracks and gives me ability to wear a regular watch instead of having to wear my apple watch all the time.
I backed this ring on kickstarter and I've been very pleased with it as a general health tracker. Especially for the kickstarter price of around €190. Still very impressed by the battery life. They also just updated the app this week but seems to mostly be a ui update
I have RingConn Gen 1 and I’m actually quite happy with it. My use case is exactly as Linus said: sleep monitoring with no subscription and no watch. The only complaint is that their promised 7-day battery life turned out to be more like 6.5, so I can’t just charge it on a fixed day and have to remember to check the battery periodically instead, so if Gen 2 fixes that, then it’s amazing (but I won’t pay again to upgrade, at least not yet, as other differences seem to be minor). For the record, no idea about Kickstarter, I purchased it last spring simply from the website and it arrived in less than a week.
I was part of the kickstarter and got my sizing kit and ring no problem. The ring was slightly delayed due to volume that they needed to produce and that I believe had a knock on effect to those who had then purchased post kickstarter, as they had to fullfill kickstarter people first. Really happy with the ring and nice to be able to go back to a non smart watch
I backed the kickstarter for the gen 1 and got mine in may 2023 so I had it over a year now and I have found it great they are constantly upgrading the app and giving more and better features and iv always found the data they give you very good compared to My galaxy watch. they advertised the gen 1 to have 7 days of battery but I have always found mine lasting around 5-6 even now. I'm not sure about the order problems people are talking about but I know they shipped the gen 1 rings in waves that was for both the sizing kits and the rings and I saw alot of the same complaints from people not realising thats how it worked even though they stated it pretty clearly not saying that's what is happening with the gen 2 orders just that was my experience. As for the customer service I have never had an issue with it I do wonder if it is the case of them just being overwhelmed from all the new orders of the gen 2 I believe they aren't a huge company so probably have a limited support staff and its only their second product. TLDR~ gen 1 owner love my ring would of upgraded to gen 2 but gen 1 still going strong and maybe give the support the benefit of the doubt they might be swamped with the new product release.
I love how all you guys are complaining about not getting your shipment but it literally says on the website they will notify you when the size and color you selected is available. How some people just have such selective tunnel vision is beyond me.
I got mine on early Kickstarter for 200$. I like it. It's really a wellness tracker. When youre active however, bpm is insanely off.... by like 70-100 beats.. running it was at 69bpm and my watch was at 146bpm. I do however love how it keeps track of my averages and let's me know if things are off. Like "hrv" and "bpm". I'm using it as a wellness tracker and not fitness. I use my galaxy watch to track fitness. I went out to dinner and had a few drinks. It tracked that my hrc and bpm was higher than usual. It is pretty cool for wellness tracking. Makes me think twice about over doing it with alcohol as it seems everytime I drink my body tends to have a tough time overnight.
Let me tell you, its sometimes difficult enough to tell apart the sleep stages from a EEG, from a medical perspective its basically not possible at all to get even a low probability guess from a finger. I'm disgusted from what these health applications try to sell nowdays.
Backed it on kickstarter, got mine around 2/3 weeks ago. Loving it so far. Great product, only had to charge it twice so far. It's so light i keep forgetting it exist.
no subscription was 1 big key on me getting the ringconn over the others. Also being a backer before the kickstarter ended made it 1 of if not the cheapest legitimate smart ring on the market.
Top 5 pains in my life. When i used to wear a edgy ring then shook hands with a bastard that had to go through a squeezing competition with me for no reason...
The sleep apnea measurements seem highly inaccurate. It consistently shows no abnormalities, yet both my in-home and in-lab tests confirmed I have sleep apnea. This is disappointing because I specifically purchased it for the sleep apnea readings. Additionally, the step count appears to be off as well, as it seems to overcount. I am not even sure how accurate are the other readings, like O2 and HR.
Whilst I'm not health-conscious at all, this is actually kind of interesting for me, or at least it would be if it wasn't $300 US. I do have a smartwatch which has Blood Oxygen and BPM monitoring in theory, but I need to charge it every day and there is no way I'd wear the chunky thing in bed, it would be too distracting, considering I already have issues falling asleep. An unobtrusive ring would be doable. Again, the price is a bit of a dealbreaker. I don't care _that_ much.
I just use a cheap garmin watch, it has all the health and sleep tracking you need, battery lasts weeks (mine is 4 years old and still goes ~12 days without a charge) and cost about £120. I've never really understood the whole stand alone smart watch thing myself, the screens are too small and battery life is wank.
I don't know what watch you have, but I understand the thought of sleeping with a watch on. I have an AmazFit, that ShortCircuit talked me into several years ago, and at first sleeping with it seemed annoying. Like you I struggle with falling asleep and staying asleep, esp if there is anything annoying me. However, after few days to a week I got use to it and it I kind of feel naked without it. The main difference is that I don't have my watch connected to my phone, as I don't want all those notifications popping up on my wrist constantly. So I can go around 2 weeks or a lil more before needing to charge it. I simply connect it to my phone in the morning to sync my health and sleep monitoring to the app, then turn Bluetooth off on my phone right after. I'm sure if I had it constantly connected to my phone that my battery life wouldn't be great either. Also have the Always On feature turned off. I realize I'm in the minority as far as how I use my smart watch. Never understood why people keep it connected to their phones if they still need to have their phone on them anyway. I'd like a LTE smart watch so that I could go for a walk and listen to music with earbuds without having to carry a heavy phone
@@andyba01 I'm not planning to get another one, to be sure. I mostly just use it to quickly check the time and turn off my alarm (for start/end of break) without taking my phone out of my pocket. The novelty wore off not long after I got it.
Sleep Apnea works... I went to a sleep study...Meaning I had to sleep at a facility with tons of wires on my head and body. After about 3 days they called me to let me know I needed a CPAP Machine....Which I got through the VA.
@@DanKaschel Going through the motions for a product on a video that is hardly even 5 minutes does not inspire any bit of confidence even on the short styled shortcircuit type of videos.
They need to make a device that wakes you up after a set time of sleep. So like 6.5 hours of actual sleep, have an alarm go off. Why don't they make that?
Hmmm, forgetting to wear my FitBit Charge 5 at night is a big problem. I need to track my sleep and o2 levels, but sometimes it's charging, or I'm too lazy to go get it. The fact this ring lasts for over a week on 1 charge, I'd probably keep it on.
Why is it such a huge case? Why need to have 150 charges always there, when a thin case with one or two charges is more than enough AND could have a solar cell on it that could charge the case up enough so every 10 days you'd have 10 days charge in it again?
I have my gen 1 about 10 months back. Their customer support is kinda shady tbh but their product is legit. I guess it’s not too bad without a subscription.
I've had a few Fitbits in the past, but I currently don't wear a smart device. I might go for something like this, and having no subscription is a huge bonus.
All these comments about people not receiving shipments and yet Linus continues to have this sponsored garbage up with an affiliate link. Literally making money off people getting scammed
With all that monitoring... Do people go to bed stressed about the fact that they want a good sleep ? Therefore making it worse ? You know ? Like when you go to bed at 3AM with an alarm at 6 and then you pray all the gods that you just fall asleep in 10 sec ?
Linus you always talk about how you hate that you need to charge your smartwatch all the time and that you only care about notifications. Because of that I think that you should test a withings watch. 30 days battery life and notifications works perfectly for me.
About 10 years ago, you guys reviewed the zboard and linus seemed to love it. Would you consider doing a review of a newer product from a company like tynee, a small/upcoming company, who have vastly improved everything about electric skateboards since 10 years ago?
Interesting how this managed to be a sponsored piece. On the WAN Show Linus has openly and often his dislike of 1. Devices being unrepairable especially for batteires and 2. Companies collecting unnecessary data of customers. I don't mind sponsored pieces, would just like it if you commented or mentioned these in the video. It can be as simple as adding a line after stating how long the battery life is that battery is not replaceable. Additionally, mentioning there is no subscription cost but not discussing if they're collecting any health data or even just the price of the RingConn is interesting. The info about battery replacement and data collection would not be out of the scope of the video, not extend the video's lengths beyond reasonable means and this info is not obvious or self-evident. Additionally, I have watched the whole video. All I want to point out it is interesting that certain points discussed elsewhere are omitted when doing something sponsored. If a sponsor doesn't want you to talk about it, probably shouldn't work with that sponsor. Thank you for pinning the comment from RingConn saying they are working on their order management though, exactly what you should do to address the comments about extremely delayed shipments. Overall, my point is it is interesting that things championed in other LTT content are not addressed here regardless of whether it is sponsored. I am not upset, nor will I stop watching LTT (especially the WAN Show). It can be difficult to balance sponsorship talking points, opinions and etc all in one video. Usually LTT nails it, I think this time could have used some more work. Hope you and everyone who reads this rather long comment a very nice day. Note: edited to fix gramatical errors and add a friendly farewell at the end as well as this note.
Honestly my garmin venu sq 2 lasts 11 days and has (arguably) one of the best gps sensors plus a ton of extra features this does. Even with how small it is, the bulkiness just doesn't seem appealing.
Is the sleep day the evening day or the morning day? I consider tonight to be tonights sleep, but my Apple watch will consider it tomorrow's sleep. Just wondering what your mattress and ring think.

The ring does show health of user. Linus is as healthy as normal. He dropped the ring. See, it works.
Gives you an idea of how much subscriptions subsidize device pricing.
I want a ring that will buzz when I get a notification. I don't care about the health monitoring and actually see it as a privacy risk
Sleep Apnea works... I went to a sleep study...Meaning I had to sleep at a facility with tons of wires on my head and body. After about 3 days they called me to let me know I needed a CPAP Machine....Which I got through the VA.
Wtf kind of name is that? Ring Con... you sure this isn't a scam?
Are there more smart rings out there?!
Smart rings feel like a scam honestly
Damn they must have paid a lot for this ad. But it didn't even sell the ring as a good product.
Looks pretty great to me, I guess you're not the customer they're looking for.
Wow they sponsored on one of my channels long before ShortCircuit, have I arrived?
Says I hate subscriptions 💀
Asks people to subscribe to the channel. 🥰
When rings will have holographic imaging i might consider getting one.
It will not bother you if you not doing anything with your hands
This ring is fucking huge
Linus is unable to allow his Note 9 to rest
RingConn is a ring con. 90% accuracy for something as dangerous as apnea isn't great
I've had a few Fitbits in the past, but I currently don't wear a smart device. I might go for something like this, and having no subscription is a huge bonus.
Is it accurate and is the company fulfilling it's orders?
For people that use smart rings. How do you guys workout? Lift weights
Currently waiting on my ring to ship.
Fingers crossed it doesn't get lost with the black friday and christmas shopping influx
RingConn is an excellent name for a company that would want comparisons to RayCon and conmen
He exactly knew the fallout of this drop by the looks of it 😂
All these comments about people not receiving shipments and yet Linus continues to have this sponsored garbage up with an affiliate link.
The ring is gonna be more accurate than the 8 sleep. 8 Sleep tracking data is like 60% accurate for me.

No mention of the competitors in the smart ring area??
The thumbnail with the icebag on your head looks like one of those weird "RUclips Kids" videos
Honestly my garmin venu sq 2 lasts 11 days and has (arguably) one of the best gps sensors plus a ton of extra features this does. Even with how small it is, the bulkiness just doesn't seem appealing.
I got both sizing kit and ring just like they promised. No issues at all for me.
I want this hologrammatic version of the LTT shirt
The devices they're going to war with each other
No subscription? That's huge!
For sleep stages just trust the apple watch, no device comes close
Didn’t Linus talk shit about the Eight Sleep mattress not that long ago, and now he’s using it??
300usd is still too steep, 150usd would be a sweet spot imho
Waaay too little focus on privacy for a product like this
Smart rings?! Yes, please!
Do a sleep tracking benchmark on watches , rings , b*** plugs , clocks etc
Ive never owned a smart watch, too much trouble for recharge etc, but might actually be intrested in this.
Linus, please.... check your notifications.
Is the sleep day the evening day or the morning day? I consider tonight to be tonights sleep, but my Apple watch will consider it tomorrow's sleep. Just wondering what your mattress and ring think.
On the sleep thing, have you considered maybe they're both wrong?
You know you can mention the price of a product when you review it, right?
Hey I have sleep apnea and it sucks getting supplemented oxygen tomorrow and praying I can finally sleep for ounce in my life
Why does the audio on this video suck? What did you do differently? Too much echo and plosives
…ringconn gen 1 was on sale on Amazon so… I hopefully got one coming in the mail this Wednesday?
Planned to buy but after seeing comments no chance
