The fact that the first dog only got lucky because his owner was sent home after an emergency tooth surgery shows just how close he was to dying and how dangerous poisoning is
The sad part is tho that it’s so common. A lot of neighbors if they hate animals and your pet does anything to annoy them enough, like bark. They will poison it. They know it will stop the problem. Some people are sick😡
It has happend for me my neighbors poison my 5 dogs that i had only 1/5 survive.(but that was long time ago like 2 years ago now that only survivor died to due to old age.) Im disgusted that its so common to poison someones pets and only some get charges and other just go back to their normal life.
My neighbour hit my cat on purpose and said it. Was a mistake but continued to drive 50 up and down the driveway after and we have other cats so I hope he gets his karma
I love that this show doesn't just show animals getting treated and all the happy endings. Far too many shows do that, this also shows the sad reality of being a vet and also possible heart breaks and how much it may hurt to lose a pet out of the blue.
I have 5 cats and 1 dog.this is so heart breaking. Our dog was breathing fast and couldn't eat,we were so worried so we prayed to Jehovah our God.He didn't taste food in one day .We were so worried that when we always wake up in the night for glass of water we will go to her and pray for her. Thankfully God has answered our prayer and healed her from food poisoning. This is to show that God is a Miracle working God.Amen
Its safe to say that anyone who would poison a dog or any animal is a cruel and callous person. So very hard to watch, but at the same time I have complete faith that these animal heroes with their knowledge and love will pull them through. Heartbreaking lucky didnt make it, rest in paradise little one 💜🐾🙏
Both sad and ironic, cat named lucky but was unlucky that day.. hope he is in a kitty paradise with all the toys he can play with and all the grassland to run and stalk and play in.
The way that the kids look at their dog Archie is really wholesome. How the vet did such a good job on caring for the dog and staying calm just shows how amazing they are at their job and what they do.
The first doggie, Archie, and the snail bait… That really does sound like a neighbor angry about kids having a new puppy, which makes them be louder and more playful outside. It’s obvious no one in the family put that stuff down. And the fact that whoever did it specifically chose snail bait, which looks just like grass, is scary.
@@Plesamae That’s so awful, I’m sorry you guys had to go through that. I saw you said somewhere els that Archie lived a good 13 years despite this incident, I’m so glad he got to be with you guys for so long. Did the neighbor admit to it or you guys figured it out yourselves?
Aside the fact that those dogs/cats were poisoned, this made me imagine how much pain they might be in.. Not even to mention how scary and confusing it must be for a dog/cat!
Lucky’s story broke my heart. I had a cat named Beans, he had cerebellar hypoplasia so he walked a little funny but was otherwise a healthy and energetic kitty. His mom rejected him knowing he was different, so I became his momma and bottle fed him. As long as he had the drive to eat, and clean himself, then I couldn’t give up on him. He had his own wheelchair I built so he wouldn’t fall over when walking and it kept his joints loose and muscles healthy. One day I came home from work and called out to him like always. He’d meow as loud as he could from his pet bed so I could pick him up for cuddles and playtime. He didn’t that day and I noticed how sleepy he seemed, he didn’t want to eat his dinner or even purr when I petted him. I tried giving him water and that’s when I noticed his gums were too pale and he had a chill to him. I had to drive an hour away to the only vet open at that time of night. they scooped him out of my arms when I ran in hysterical because he was declining so quickly. They tried from two different spots to get blood but his pressure was too low, his temp was too low to even get a read. They tried warming him and giving oxygen, they tried everything to save my bottle baby. But alas, he was just too far gone and was ready to rest. They brought me into an exam room and laid him on the table, with his fleece blanket wrap around him. I broke down again seeing where they had shaved him trying to get a blood sample, I cried so hard even the vet got teary..I gave him so many kisses and told him how much I loved him, my beanie baby. Then with my go ahead, they put him to sleep right there in my arms. I left him there to be cremated, as I lived in apartments and didn’t want to bury him somewhere I couldn’t visit often. That drive home was awful each time I looked at the back seat where his empty pet bed and blanket were, remnants of his light gray fur that still felt like a kittens after 5 years. They figured he must’ve had panleuko virus despite being vaccinated. The tears came back while writing this, because the hurt never goes away. Pets are like our children, they rely on us for everything and we’re their entire life up until the end of it. He was my baby that I fed every two hours and wiped his bottom when we had no one else to love him. I fought beside him till the very end. RIP Bean baby.
I had a dog that had to be put down. I know it's not a cat, but your story is hitting hard and I'm still crying for you.😢😭😭😭 I so badly wish I could give you a hug and just cry with you for such a loss. 🥺My dog was my baby. She looked to me for everything. She was my everything. 🥲😭🥺😢😭

@@dandyrebellion I wanna be a vet when I’m older and I would cry as soon as the animal is brought in. it’s so sad and I have a sensitive place in my heart for animals. I can’t imagine loosing my dog because someone was so selfish to put poison in my yard for some snails that i’m pretty sure do nothing? like if it’s that big of an issue, make poison that is only toxic for that animal, not another animal that has done nothing and has a happy life!
@michaela unfortunately it isn't that easy- many animals have no toxin that harms them but doesn't hurt another animal. Take rat poison for example- it is toxic not only to rats, but can also be lethal to pets and even people in high enough doses. And unfortunately in some cases it might be too late for an animal, and that's just a fact you'll have to get used to as a future vet. Yes it's sad, but you can't let your emotions hinder your ability to help an animal- because that can sometimes be a matter of life or death. I strongly encourage you though, and good luck on your path! Just be prepared to meet some horrible cases.
Awful what people do to animals. I am so glad Zeena made it through. My baby Rotty is Xena, and I can't imagine being without her. Bondi vets are absolutely amazing. Thanks for being there for all our four legged friends ❤
The first dog is so amazing. I had the exact same thing happen to me with my yellow lab. I got home and called the vet ASAP because he wasn’t acting right. Unfortunately he didn’t make it after a heart attack in the icu that night; but I’m so glad they were able to save him here.

I feel so sad for Lucky's mum. :( My little boy also got poisoned by some heartless neighbors. After a week of desperately searching for my cat, sadly, we found his body dumped at a random alley. 💔 Brought him home for a proper burial.
My poor kitty got poisoned a few weeks ago. He was a 3 month old tuxedo cat named Ant for his small size and shortie legs. We raised him since he was born, and one day, he went playing in the backyard as always. But while we weren't watching over him, he ate a dead rat with toxine inside of it's body. We took him to the veterinarian immediatelly, but the poison was faster than us. Once we arrived, he had passed out already. The vet woke him up and did some tests (he was coughing blood and foaming at the mouth, and seemed extremely uncomfortable) and gave him some vaccines, but it wasn't enough. Poor Ant died in my lap. I miss him. His 2 siblings are still alive, but they aren't as active since Ant was gone. When I returned home without Ant, his siblings tried looking for him in my hands, inside and outside the house and everything. But he was gone. R.I.P, Ant!

As this video is regarding poisoning pets, I want to share my personal experience. There were 4 street puppies in my area, in the year 2017 as far I remember. One of those puppies pooped in the parking area of my neighborhood, and of course, they were street puppies, and untrained. Two days later, when I was returning from school, I saw those puppies gloomy and they seemed to be sick. I offered them treats, but they didn't seem to like it at all. I too didn't pay much heed to it. During the night while taking a stroll in the yard, I saw one puppy laying on the sidewalk. I gave a shout, but it didn't move. Out of curiosity I went to check, as I have seen them sick earlier. I found it dead, and other three too. I couldn't sleep that whole night. The next day I took one of the dead puppies to the vet and found out they were poisoned. I was sure it was the neighbors. While I charged them for doing that sin, they admitted it and even did not repent for their crime AT ALL. I was shocked!! I complained about them in the municipality, but as they were street pups, they could easily go through the crime charge. 5-6 months passed by, the neighbors went to party at some place, and you won't believe what happened....... 2 of the family members DIED because of sea food poisoning..... I was hella shocked!!!!! From then I believe from the core of heart that the work you do to others ALWAYS comes back to you in some way or the other, let that be a good or a bad work. KARMA will never spare anyone.
I used to want to be a vet when I was younger. It wasnt until I got older that I realized I cant stand seeing animals in pain. Vets are special people to put that aside and do what needs to be done.
Facts. I'm too emotional toward this stuff, I could never survive without constant breakdowns, I could also never put an animal "to sleep", it hurts my too much to think about, let alone do.
I used to want to be a vet when I was younger but also didn't want to have to put animals down and do all kinds of things I really don't want to fairly recently I've tried to save an animal where I realized so many vets were not that good and there are also not enough especially for most animals that aren't cats and dogs and decided to become one and then I also started volunteering and saving all kinds of animals honestly it's harder to see them this way and not being able to do much but now idk if I can be a vet because the school work is hard might get to be a vet assistant tho! Hopefully

I think the whole concepts of vets is absolutely amazing when you think about it. We literally have doctors and nurses to care for our animals. Years ago there would have been no such thing, people literally study years to be able to care for our animals. I think it’s amazing!
@@Digital_Nomad_Media Wrong kinda, ok so unlike medical clinics for humans which get government subsidiaries and pay lower prices for medical equipment and disposables; Vets particularly owners of Vet clinics have to pay full prices, I got a family member who owns a vet clinic and they've showed me the literal tens of thousands they spend on medical equipment for animals such as x-ray machines and drugs, it is in the thousands easily, they charge the amounts they do out of necessity, I don't believe in the government paying for it but the reality is that the way the system is isn't because of lack of empathy and to suggest Vets are happy to let your pet die is ridiculous, very very few people become Vets for money.

Note to self that if my pet is ever poisoned, I'll give the vet immediate permission to administer any life saving medicine/antidote without pause as SOON as I hand the pet over. I'm sure it wouldn't have made a huge difference, but I can't help but wonder how much time was wasted going to ask permission, and if Lucky might have been saved if they'd just done that immediately.
nope it would not have made a difference lucky was on deaths door when she got him there, but if luck would have let them prep him sooner then yes it would have helped.

At least this vet seems to take poisoning seriously. Mine ate an anti-psychotic and was unconscious. He was 8 weeks old and the desk told me the doc wouldn't be in for an hour! Where were the nurses?? Luckily he survived!!
Same happened to my dog he was 8 months old and we took him to the vet at 7:30 in the morning (it was an emergency 24 hour vet) and when we went in they said, o yeah sorry the vet isn’t in until 9:00 but u Can see the vet tech, she looked at him gave him a shot and said he was fine, we brought him home and in the next 10 minutes he was going in and out of consciousness and at one point my mom said he stopped breathing so they took him back to the vet and 5 minutes after getting there he bless out in the floor and they were insisting to the vets that it was an emergency, then a nurse came out and called someone else who was there just for puppy shots, luckily the man with the puppy told them to take us first, but he ended up passing once he went in
I know right know the veterinary field is drowning. We see about 150 appointments a day and still have to refer pets to other facilities. The volume of pet owners who adopted during the pandemic is insane, enough to start shutting down facilities since there isn't enough staffing. I'm so sorry you experienced this. Whenever an emergency situation, always head over to a 24hr facility, never wait for a local vet. They likely won't have appointments, so it's safer to be seen right away.

We had a next door neighbor that was starting to act crazy towards us this year. It started out small, with him cutting my lilac bush mid-winter and then it escalated to the point where he actually hammered some nails in some 2x4’s and laid the wood boards, with the nails sticking straight up, in the street. We were starting to fear he would try to poison our dog or shoot us or something. So we moved and I am so relieved. You can’t put a price on the feeling of safety. If your gut tells you your neighbor can’t be trusted, listen to it. The day we starting moving our neighbor grabbed a chair and sat in his garage and watched us while we packed the moving van. My husband yelled over at him and asked, “Are you really just going to sit there and watch us?” And our neighbor replied, “Yeah. I think I’m just going to enjoy myself.” The following day, he took my daughter’s ball, that she had accidentally kicked into his backyard months prior, and he hung it on a string. At first I thought it was a balloon, but my daughter pointed out it was her ball. The sicko hung it up like it was a trophy- to celebrate our moving away. And what makes it all this worse it that he used to be our friend. We invited him over for thanksgiving and dinners all the time. He even went to one of my daughter’s plays. Well, I don’t know what happened to him and why he made us his enemy, but I know this: I have zero regret moving. He told us one day we were his only friends. Well, congratulations buddy, now you have no one. The couple friends you had literally moved to another state to get away from you.

Ahh but because of you he had a wonderful life.

I think the whole concepts of vets is absolutely amazing when you think about it. We literally have doctors and nurses to care for our animals. Years ago there would have been no such thing, people literally study years to be able to care for our animals. I think it’s amazing!
And it pays well.
Unless you don't happen to have loads of cash at the time. Then they are more than happy to let your pet die.
@@Digital_Nomad_MediaSo true.
I feel being a vet is harder than a doctor
Oh man, I was weeping like a baby, probably for the first time in a couple of years. I hate and at the same time love tragic videos on RUclips. Thank you for saving puppy’s life. It was heartbreaking😭
Some people actually sued the vet for not asking permission. They don't do these things for no reason. Look more into it before criticizing. It honestly makes you look bad.
@@GuardianTiger to me if you sue for the not asking permission you didn't want your pet to live in the first place, it is fucked up to sue for them trying to save your f-ing pet.
They asl cuse if they do it with out and you can't afford it then the owner is stuck with a 10 thousand dollar bill butpst ethical vets will work with you on something like the first dog they will do whatever it takes to save the dog ethically no worry about money then worry about it latter and only charge you all you can afford abd that's the bull for saving the dogs life ethically

@@chiquisdisco4dayz528 yup. Same answer for you. Sue them for malpractice and damages.
@@chiquisdisco4dayz528 Oh I'm soooooooooo sorry!!!!!

Him not having any friends speaks volumes. He is crazy so no one wants to be around him. People like him are dangerous because they befriend you to hurt you. Maybe he is schizophrenic or something 🤷♀️.

It's always so heart breaking when I see the owners and how much they love their pets. Some people are just so cruel. I will never understand how people can purposely hurt an animal, and personally as a cat owner, if that happened to my cat, I would be so angry and hurt. And it's always the animals that have never done anything to them. Just shows how absolutely cruel people can be when it comes to animals.
