One "Grumpy Video" a month is way better then none! Always appreciate what you share, and I'll definitely will be stealing your combiner box design in the future! Take care.

Hi Grumpy do you expect any power loss between your panels and cabin using solid core wire and also what is the wire gauge and length of run do you have?
Also please reconsider your thoughts on video quantity yours is one of only a hand full of channels that I religiously watch and subscribe to.Thanks for the informative content that you always put out.

I don't think it will drop that much. I am adding another panel. UF cable makes it so easy I decided to use it. Thanks for the comment on the quantity of videos being uploaded. That said the volume is too low on views. So I'm going to focus on video quality content.

Something I've been wondering is you can use the solar panels as a water catchment. If you were to bolt the solar panels together using bolts and nuts and skip using the Renogy panel brackets except for the top and bottom of your 3 panels. The panels would be close together. Trying to plan something from the couch and actual experience are 2 different things. I'm just wondering if there is something I might be missing. My plan is being in the high desert where water is scare and I'd be sharing my solar with a friend so my solar array would be greater. I'm hoping to use the panels as 1 source of water catchment. I appreciate your videos and looking forward to enjoying a life like yours.

Also, just out of curiosity, is there really much difference between the stranded and uf wires? I understand the stranded use with dc,but is the difference negligible?
I also know all to well about use what ya got, especially with prices what they are now.

I think there is a point or two when it comes to voltage readings. But UF is made to be outside and sure is easier than running conduit.
