I hate adjustable mounts. Add an extra panel if you need more power. My neighbors had an adjustable panel. Key word had. It made a great sail. I want the array anchored down firm. If you notice solar farms. They 4 point mounts to reduce maintenance costs. Also the adjustment vs an extra panel is not worth the risk of damage. I've notice most on RUclips showing adjustable and motors moving the panel. Are RUclips engineers. I've seen motors burn out. Trackers burn out. For $100 dollars you can just add a 100 watt panel if your system is that marginal.
Glad to see you quit making off grid videos 😂😂😂. j/k of course. Appreciate the heads up on this stuff. Looks much simpler than figuring out all the unistrut stuff. Thanks!
Nothing like being the best of what you want it to be the way you designed it for your purpose . The PVs will look more uniformed with more room for future PVs installation and the new production of power will make you feel real proud to have such a system to serve you at this time & age .
I sure appreciate your videos. I am setting up my own system here in Arizona. I don't have any trees or clouds to block the sun. It sure is a lot greener in Tennessee. Thanks, Bonnie
This is just the video I need. I will be starting off with the Harbor freight just so I can learn then moving into what you are doing now. At first I'll be using it for my green house in the winter. Once we learn and get figured out just what we need will be having the shop and green house both on solar and all the outside lights. It will also be a back up for the house if we ever loose power so we can keep the freezer and Icebox on.
Thanks for this info. This is something I have planned for this Spring once we warm up. I've been wondering how I want to build my solar panel mounts. I like this idea!
Great product find man! Thanks for pointing out that Vietnam is not China!!! I got stuck in Vietnam after the CCP virrus spread. Overnight, VN shut down it's borders to protect everyone. VN is the most pro-US place I have ever been to and they absolutely hate China. VN is a great place to visit especially if you were here 50 years ago and need to heal inside.
Hey Mr Grump,, nice going on the mount and timely. How deep did you dig the holes for the post? I need this type of set up but am put off by the amount of rocks in my area. J
I let the turbine cure for 6 months. It was a pay as I go job so I wasn't in a hurry. Plus it has a ton of rebar in it. I will wait a couple of weeks for the array to cure. I have high wind loads. The holes were a minimum of 1.5 feet deep.
Talking about sat tv, did you know there is still such a thing as free to air or ota satellite tv? I just found this out about 6 months ago, I mean I remember the big old dishes and somewhat big dishes of the 80s early 90s but I thought that stuff went out, Robbie Strike has got some good vids here on youtube about it
Oh yeah. Only thing is the KU FTA , it's mainly PBS channels which I already receive OTA. I was going to install Orby TV but they didn't make it. ( bankruptcy) My order was canceled yesterday. I have 2 OTA antennas and I receive 52 channels. I'm going to install a 3rd antenna to pickup another town.
@@GrumpyMountainMan I'm doing something similar w/ the antennas, I've got an old dish network system that's long since been cancelled, looking into setting/program adjustment to see if I can pick up any fta channels that way
You going to use a motor? I might still go FTA if I do I will try to learn the motor. From what I've read a 72cm is the smallest dish. A 96cm is better . Still I'm holding out for Starlink. IPTV is future of TV. But it's a cat and mouse game with it.
Just like your mom... Love this channel.
Ha someone caught the joke !
Of course we caught that $#!%🤔lol
Ha ha ha...the ole ya mama joke.
@@GrumpyMountainMan Not bad👋 Nice delivery 🤣
Really nice I’ve got to get our house done so I can make everything permanent, one day I’ll get there
Using that kit makes it a no brainer. Worse part was digging the holes. I have 1 inch of topsoil the rest is rock : )
Mines like yours but clay and rock lol
Is the kit real expensive?
@@southernohiosolarhomestead8477 I don't think so. You can pick and choose on the kit.
I've heard they're a great company with excellent products. Thanks for sharing 👍😊
Everything I've gotten from them has been top notch with great customer service.
Thanks for another informative video. The flag and pole look great - nice addition.
“Just like your mom” that cracked me up more than it should!!! I guess I wasn’t expecting that! 😂
Ha...that made me smile...ha ha ha
Thank you for staying on youtube and sharing this video! Have you thought about making the mount angle adjustable?

Glad you liked it. And yes unistrut can stop the show with one missing part.
Your videos are so educational. Nice to see actual video that is helpful. Thank you love your sense of humor.🤣🤣🤣

Yes sir. I just kept putting it off. Feels good knowing I installed a solid product. It should last a lifetime
looks great it should do the trick. keep up the great work and have a great week as well
You too and stay warm.
They are a good company. I know someone that uses their products too. Diy all day with them. Thanks for sharing 😃 GBU 😃
Ha that's actually funny. Glad to see someone else likes them too : )
I definitely believe that you have to do what you have to until you can do what you have to! Looks good so far!

Learn something with all your videos. Thanks!
Awesome. I am hoping it helped. Thank you so much for leaving a comment and for watching the video too : )

Harbor freight is great to learn on . It's like a kids chemistry set. Once you figure out how it all works then you can graduate up.
Nice! I've been looking at their products. Now I know they are legit. Thank you so much.
If you need they have it.

It's a no brainer. They make it very straightforward. Just unbox and get going. I wish I did it sooner.
Next time I will wear a bikini

I went a minimum of 1.5 ft. I had to chisel out rock. It's why I looked whipped in the video. I have high winds in my area
on to the next step
Like yer mom.🤣🤣🤣🤣
SpongeBob time markers, hilarious
Looking forward to the next steps,
Take care,stay warm.
Ha awesome. Thanks for the laugh.
The concrete I poured for a turbine mount took much longer to cure than any above ground concrete I've poured.

2 inch work great
