No worries bud! I figured as much BUT I will be doing a Z cut in the future times...when I build the next one. Gotta just jump and get started. Its a fun time, especially when you see your work come together. Share some pics with me on my instagram!
My sending unit for the gas tank has 2 wire plug. I installed a new unit, plugged the wire plug in. Gauge still doesn't work. Is It possible that I plugged it backwards or is there only one way to that plug could go on , I can't get back to it cuz it's on top of the gas tank. Or is there a certain amount of gas I need in the tank for gauge to start registering ?
Looking good, i personally would have mitred the box tube, no open ends then, and put a rubber gasket between it and the tank lip for added prorection against rust and rubbing.........just me
Hey Matt, nice work on the truck. I was wondering how you ended up mounting the fuel fill location? I am building a ‘69 F100 4x4 with my son and want to put the fuel filler behind the license plate and looking for ideas.
Hey Matt was curious if the rear sway bar interfered with the tank.... I've heard other guys mention this issue. I noticed the sway bar wasn't installed during your mock up and was wondering if if was a problem to install later. Look forward to every episode and enjoy watching.... keep up the good work Matt.
Hey Ronnie! Thanks for being a subscriber and for the awesome words! The sway bar doesn't interfere with the tank BUT I believe it will interfere with the wheels that I have selected. they are a deep dish and the mark viii IRS was not intended for deep dish wheels. I want to find a way to keep the sway for the added stability.
I am building 70 f100 with Tbird IRS. Tried using a 70 mustang fuel tank and it wont come close to fitting because of swaybar. Dont know how you have the clearence?
Hey man, nice work and nice video. Im building a 1970 f100 and im trying to figure out a plan for the fuel tank. I like what you did on this one. Im doing a 4.6 swap from a one owner grand marquis and using the harness, etc. from the donor car. What fuel pump setup could be used with the mustang tank that would be as close to plug and play as possible? The grand marquis tank setup is vertical mount and theres no room without putting a hump in the bed and thats not an option, i want the bed to stay like it is.
I wanted the bed flat as well! The 4.6 SOHC is a 30-45 psi of fuel pressure while idling. 65psi max. the 2003+ 4.6 is a return-less system. So it depends if your car is 2003+ which if your using the aluminum IFS then it is. There are a multitude of pumps to choose from. ranging from $150-$300. I would look on summit. They have full kits with the tank, which would make setup very easy.
I'm glad to see that you're going to have a flat bed, I don't like the "hump" in the bed, and have you seen the 2002(?) Ford Lightning frame swap from V8TV?
you and me both! its a truck! it needs the bed!!!!! i have seen the lightning swap! that truck actually came out really nice! i always wondered if that would work and it looks like it does!
@@joeschlotthauer840 i have! they had to mod the underside of the bed to get it to set flat/level with the cab but it wasn't as extensive as i thought it was going to be. I really like how they placed the AC vents inside the cab...us AZ boys love AC as you can imagine lol. i think it was a ranger model wasn't it? very clean. id love to build a lightning motor some day but those things are almost as much as a coyote which is crazy!! i liked there idea of just buying a wrecked lightning and swapping it. maybe ill be lucky enough to do that in a future build.
Yea that’s one is cool too but I was talking about the music at 1:25. If you can remember let me know. They play the same music at whiskey trib RUclips channel lol
Haha I was trying to create a way to end the scene instead of it just cutting to the next. I've seen other channels do it and decided to try copying it.
Yeah if you reinforced in behind I get it it’s strong . I enjoyed this project , can’t wait to do it myself

Did you use the sending unit for the 70 gas tank or the f100 one?

@@BlackLabelGarage all of my parts are coming from a 2006 Grand Marquis
Don’t grind completely, grind a line in middle for flat end screw driver, then pop the top with a chisel, lots faster and Easter.

Exactly, without the bed it's dyslexic...
If you seen that video from V8TV, that truck came out real nice...

Came out nice bro!
Thanks man! It was an idea in my head at first but I think it finished out well! Now to do all the plumbing for the dang thing...
Get an air hammer with a chisel tip and a small flat face it will speed up the process by 50%
How many gallons is the tank please I need one for fuel injection
It's faster and easier to drill those rivets than it is to grind them.
Nice job how did you mount the tank frame to the truck frame
I used the threaded Rivits to bolt to the frame. I also used Rubber "washers" between the tank frame and the truck frame.
@@BlackLabelGarage Nice !! What size did you go with?
@@scan1960 The tank is from a 69 mustang so it will hold 20 gallons of GO JUICE!!!
@@BlackLabelGarage Nice! One last question what size rivnuts did you use? Thanks again for the great vid.

Sorry that response was about cutting the frame ,
I really like this music you play lol what’s the name of the first one?
LOL and this is purely from memory it's called iced tea
Like the music. I did the same swap on my 1963 Chevy truck . And yes I used a mustang fuel tank, they're cheap
@@mariorowland8342 haha yes they are! and they are everywhere! If it works it works. Happy you like the music!
Nice job, great vid. Keeping smacking the camera. Fade to black label, they don't understand.
Great video, clean your camera lens
haha thanks Cory. ill clean that baby asap! i think its the outer casing though. need a new one
What's the deal with you smacking the camera.. I've noticed you're trying to make that your thing.. But It's extremely annoying.

No return or vent on that has tank.
stop with the music
I got that on the last one
