    For a perfect ground use conductive grease (not Dielectric) on the contact surfaces because it will prevent rust.

    LMC Truck , how about a tank relocation kit for 1988-1998 Chevy trucks , from side saddle to center rear .( where factory spare tire is located ) . I realize the cross member would need to be removed and a new set of cross members installed near the rear and near the axle to make room for the tank .

    showing the the installation of the straps would have been helpful as well as the anti-squeak kit. Does the Tank need to be level? The frame on the 66 Ford F-100 is not., at the location where the tank fits it has a slight arch in the frame..

      Long bed fleetside? I used an 85 Suburban tank (Spectra Premium #GM14B), along with the filler pipe and related parts to fit the same Suburban, including the cover ... which I bought from LMC. I grafted a fuel filler door from a 1974 C20 onto the RH box side. I chose the tank and filler with the larger 1-5/8" filler pipe option. The other size id 1-1/4" which I thought was pretty small and didn't want slow filling issues at the filling station. The vent tube is also larger. 5/8" vs 1/2".

    Why not mount the tank above the frame rails, rather than below. Instead of lifting the tank to mount it from below why cant you drop it in and let gravity help hold the tank to the frame?

    • @MrBeefyDelta
      @MrBeefyDelta Год назад

      Totally could, but if you ever needed to service the tank, you would be forced to remove your entire bed to access. Of course, pulling the bed can be done, but an extra chore for sure.

    LOL at the fact that they skipped the part about running the fuel line, the return line, and the wire to the gauge. Don't get me wrong, it is a good kit when you buy all the goodies you need. I'm installing mine today, but it isn't like you just put it in with 4 bolts, throw in a sending unit, ground it, and go. You have to run fuel line, which also involves a ton of bending lines and removing the old, etc. So, heed the fact that Kevin says this is a 4/5 job to do.

    You guys list this as a 29x29x13" tank.... That would be a square tank. You guys clearly used a rectangle sized tank. You can not fit a 29x29" tank in these short bed frames. Why is your link for a different tank than you used in this video? I measured my frame and my axle is 30x30... Id have to relocate my axle forward to fit a 30x30x12 tank in my short bed.

  • @chuckyz2
    @chuckyz2 2 года назад +2

    You kind of ripped through that and left all the hard stuff out. You said you could do this without removing the bed then said you can't get to some bolts with the bed on. You didn't show how you hooked up the fuel line or the sending unit wire. You didn't show how to remove the cross member with the bed on. Pretty cheesy guys. Really.
