Great video! So happy my city have a 5.11 store. Love 5.11 merch, have a Rush MOAB 10 & 6 and looking into getting this 12 2.0 . The 5.11, MOAB 10, really proved itself to me during the 8 years of contracting in Afghanistan. I beat that bag hard and today it's still looking good. Thanks for the video.
Shame it don’t have a water bottle pouch on the side, I really think most bags need these
I agree with you on packs that don't have a bladder. Most of the time I only need one or the other. If I consider it a "low-intensity" bag (edc, fishing, disc golf, etc.), I usually want a bottle holder, since I can usually stop and drink out of a bottle any time I want. If it's more of a "high-intensity" pack (mountain biking, running, hiking, etc.), I prefer a bladder since I will usually be drinking on the move, and water bottles can fall out unnoticed too easily.
I like the added grenade pouches on the 1.0
I’ve had my Rush 12 for a few years. I like that hidden compartment. That’s a nice new feature. They are well made packs.
I have to agree, the Rush 12 is an excellent pack, and now its even better.. a much needed update.

I carry my 5.11 Rush 12 Multicam for 4 years now as my EDC!!!
And I LOVE IT!!!!!!
I also own the 5.11 Rush 24 Multicam backpack,.. but I dont use it much,.. but it is designated as my B.O.B!!!! I use the Rush 12 99% of the time, since it is my EDC and gladly I did not have to bug out jet,... lol

He did mention that. He didn't mention the mesh pouches on the inside of the main pouch though.They are super handy for commonly used small items.

I'm fortunate to have a 5.11 store within 10 minutes from my home and stop by there on occasion to check for sales items. Everything I've bought including clothing apparel have been top quality. I picked up a Havoc 30 backpack this week for 49 bucks which originally sold for 140. It has great organizational pockets including one for my CCW and extra magazines. The waist belt has two small pockets but I removed it and stuffed it in a side pouch. I wanted a "grey man" EDC bag and use it for carrying my gym needs as well. Another pack I found on sale I set it up as a 72 hour bug out bag; the front pouch can be detached to use as a shoulder bag with its own strap. It is black and has a molle system and does not stand out as a tactical bag. When I travel I travel light with just a backpack and a duffle bag. The 5.11 duffle can also be used as a backpack and holds everything I would need for a week of travel. Unfortunately, it was not on sale and it was the smaller 40 liter version at 170 bucks.
Wish the included water bottle mesh pockets.
Agreed, but i use their AR mag pouch as a water bottle holder. It will hold a typical bottle of water, and compress to almost nothing when not in use.
@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel yeah i got the rush 12 also i carry a thermos 16oz bottle and a nalgene bottle it gets annoying when you want a drink and have to unzip it to take it out, 2.0 looks sweet just wish they included those pockets on the side instead of forcing us to buy those separate pouch to attach it.

@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel i did sadly i found out about the Covert18 after i bought the rush 12 plus they dont sell the covert18 in Canada not that i know of... and seems like 511 site dont make them anymore. These backpacks cost more in Canada sadly.
@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel Oh yeah I also bought the rush 24 first but damn when i got it the thing was huge lol i'm 5'3 so carrying it around looked like i had a turtle shell on me, I ended up selling my rush 24 and bought the rush 12

Good on them, but I ordered two Rush 12 originals on the same promo and my $50.00 only worked for one of the bags so I refused to complete the order. Off to the BBB to rectify this fiasco.

Can I just ask? On your Rush 12 you have two small pouches attached just beneath the top front pocket. What are they and where can I get them?
I have both the Rush 12 and rush 12 2.0 and i switch between them as a driver's bag and an EDC bag, both almost identically stocked with EDC gear so I don't have to move gear from bag to bag.

heard 40 lbs is fine
I always cut the side compression straps off, they get in the way and they make unwanted noise when deploying.
Yes, I also cut the back straps as well and carry it by hand, so I can ditch the bag quickly whenever the Taliban attack during my 9-5 office work.

Can water blaatter section be used as labtop compartment. Is its buttom padded?
The bladder section is too small to accomodate a laptop but is perfect for some documents (A4/letter), the actual laptop compartment is separated from the bottom of the pack so the PC is protected
What color is that new pack?
I used to love these bags... but after awhile of use I just got tired of the whole tactical look it's just too much.
I can see that, this is why i own their Cover18 pack as well. These "tactical" packs have their purpose, but once in a while a nice discrete pack is whats needed
@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel I'm really digging the Mystery Ranch 24 Urban Assault packs and am highly considering picking one up. Tri-zip design seems refreshing, separate laptop pocket, rugged like the 5.11's but with better straps and water resistant zippers just seems like a bit more thoughtful quality for the same price range ish. Not to mention very streamlined design that doesn't scream tactical.

It will be perfect with back and straps ventilation. Not a good backpack to travel a lot, because you will have huge thermal gaps on public transportation, runs inside an Airport, with the same climate sensibility as an army condom or places when the weather looks choiced by my mother in law.... in a bad day.

@@AngelikuS_ the 2.0 is essentially the same bag, but with upgrades as more organization.
@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel the organization is not better, but some things change. It depends if you are interested in those changes or not. changes a somewhat larger glasses pocket (little more), they change a pocket with a handle for a laptop pocket, they remove drainage holes (error in my opinion), they remove rubbers along the drain (well done because they wear out), they leave only a hole for the tube the hydration bag and add (the best for me) the hidden pocket. In short, the only thing that attracts me is that hidden pocket (I have no weapons), otherwise, they are the same! I already have version 1 in black (I use in city and travel) and I will go for the sandstone (use in nature).
