It was triggered on basic attacks, so guan didn't use it that well. It was bought on every assassin and made them way to strong early. It was basically giving everyone da ji basic attacks except it also made their basics slow.
I used to love the old Fatalis. My favorite god at the time was Chronos and with his two and no backstep penalty it made for great times. It was hilarious watching the melee players chase you and them never being able to catch you while you were still able to attack facing them
Not sure if you played or not at the time of this item but bakasura was actually really strong at that point of the meta so building it on him was actually double op, and made bakasura extremely hard to fight at early levels because of his passive as well as the slow from the item.
Strolling Shishilan you're lucky to not have seen that. I had a build for rama arena what I called the Quadra maker (because I never managed to get pentas but I got a lot of quadras with it) that it was basically buying bloodforge, warrior tabi, and fatalis as 3 first items, you had all you needed, then you bought executioner and sais to melt tanks and kill everybody, and ez pz quadras. Seriously fatalis on adcs was awful, and it was even worse with frostalis, you're losing a 1 v 1 with anhur for example (one of the best to do frostalis) ? Get frostalis, lifesteal and sais, you won
Personally I would love to see season 2 golden bow back in the game. Or have golden bows passive be an enhanced feature like rage or shamans ring do just by doing damage, kills, assists, or even just over time it gains the aoe effect that merc and art loved so much.
I think Golden Bow should make a return as a starter item, but with the passive effect only affecting minions/camps and either have no power or very low power on it. I think they could make that item balanced, it just needed number tweeking that they didnt seem to want to do. But i think it would make for a good starter item.
Bow was Removed BECAUSE of its proc on minions, if it came back as a starter itd have to be a low amount like 10-15 damage in an aoe, helps but you dont lose lane just bc your opponent beat you to it
A lot of the items that are "existing items but with a different passive" came from a period during the beta where hi-rez tried to implement alternative upgrade paths for items, situational variations. There were no items trees back then, you only had one path, spend gold to upgrade an item into an stronger version of itself, so that was a kinda important change. Most of these items were removed when the current item trees system was added (because the old item were merged into groups, the Tier 1 items).
the four stacking over time items were released after their minion stacking counterparts were already in the game, the theory was they would be decent for players learning the game who didn't farm right ,focus increased duration of cc so you had ymirs walking around with like 4 second stuns (remember no DR on stuns back then either ) you could only buy either frostbound hammer or frostbound amulet not both ,original fatalis also removed the backpedal penalty, wall of absolution was a mage item bough to counter assassins/mages built partial tank back then with void stones and either wall of abs or breastplate, fun things you missed were gem of binding (gem of iso's AA based sister) which was core on chronos and zeus, and dementors doll which was %hp per tick (think kuku/ then old AK)
Wrath of Heaven works on the old Nu Wa kit, where u have to use all of her abilities to activate her final for as a serpent, which she becomes stronger. With that she could use that item. Plus her old 3 ability, after casting it, made her basic attacks do aoe damage. Maybe mostly works on Freya, and Nu Wa (old)
Old nu wa with a basic atack oriented build was far more broken than freya, and way too fast, yu would just see her pop her cage with all the enemy team trapped there, pop all their spells, become that hot snake lady and melt all the enemy team while running at mach 10 and dodging litterally everything, and get near her was a NO-NO cuz of her 1 following her
Yeah that why when she pops all her abilities for the her final serpent, she can get Wrath of Heaven. Plus i like the old Nu Wa better. We need more basic attack oriented mages. Her only major abilities that does damage was her Ult and her 3rd ability. Also being, she could spawn 5 minions which made her an insane solo/mid pusher.
khaled aladsani yeah we need but hi rez hates them tgats why mage build works better on chamos that were designed to be aa oriented aka sol and chronos
Sol didnt have to use all her abilities to get her passive, so the item will be useless. People like freya and NuWa (old) had to use all their abilities at the same time. For Nu Wa's case, so she could activate her old passive. As for freya, she would banish, then use 1 and 2, then ult. That would proc the item mostly. Even if she got her 1 and 2 back, she could use them again. Banish and her ult will still be on cooldown. On Sol it might work, but it just works way better on the Old Nu Wa and Freya.
Manikin scepter was incredibly broken for warriors because of the slow which with 3 autos stacked to 24%. Thats a 24% slow at lvl 1 including dot damage it just was way way way too powerful
NinGangsta tbh I dont think so. I doubt we would ever going to see osiris, bel etc building a crit item and those are the ones that take advantage the most of cleave.
NinGangsta easy man. Just make it so aoe/ cleve basic hits. The effect either doesnt activate or it only does 10% of the damage. Basically the way lifesteal works or damn it whats it called....... Oh well. The starter item that gices mana amd health per basic hit. I know i suck.
Wyatt Davis I played for about 6 months before I got removed, u could literally take any hunter anywhere any lane and do well cause they had good clear with golden bow. it also broke duel cause people only played hunters. but who cares about duel lol
Matt Bell it was only bad for a short period in season 3 and then they removed it. It was never op before that and was pretty much only built by merc and Artemis
Ma'at's tome, devourers touch, warlocks ring, and ascendance weren't changed into the items that are currently in the game they all existed at the same time. This was back when items didn't all branch from 1 similar item and instead had their own trees. They were just alternate build choices that were easier to stack but didn't offer as much stats in the end. You could build one or the other.
Manakin Scepter was one hell of a trip. Easily the most overpowered, most single-handedly game breaking item to ever exist in Smite. That was a fun PTS lol
Gauntlet of thebes used to be a stacking item that would award permanent health for minions/god kills. Think of warlocks sash but only with health. I think when it was stacked all the way you gained 1000 health total with the base health plus stacks. I used to build it on release geb when his damage and shield scaled off of your health pool. Good memories. They removed it a long time ago to break the game out of a tank meta, and because it was hard to stack on most tanks anyway. Now its come back as an aura item, and I do like its current form, even it isn't quite as noticeable.
The items that took time to stack were around with the ones that required kills and minions to stack at the same time, they weren't changed into the stacking items they were just removed
Golden Bow was the perfect item if you wanted a "No Boots Build" on a Hunter. It also used to crit, even on throwing dagger. I remember Soul Eater in that season too before they nerfed it. Freaking hunter meta with a Bracer of Undoing item that auto proc'd, gave 30% attack speed and 20% life steal. Stacked up to 20 and gave you an extra 10% movement speed and 10% life steal. All for a small price of 2000 gold. The nail in the coffin was when Bloodforge arrived. Almost 50% lifesteal, a shield on kills, and a Bracer of Undoing you never had to press.
Man, i miss S2 Soul Eater. It was by far the most overstacked item in the game but no one was building it because it didn't have the right mix of meta stats. Then when the meta fit it they changed it... then nerfed it... and now we have the current Soul Eater. one of the worst mix of stats on any items.
Manikin Sceptre was probably one of the most op items in the game ever, and it was a starter item. It made gods like Osiris absolutely unstoppable early game
You missed the most important thing about Fatalis: You didn't move slower backwards! Which, back in the day, made Thanatos waaaayy too OP, you could run AND hit with your Q, miss that time..
I can see ascendence being used in xbal builds over transcendence because he doesnt really have the wave clear he needs to have to get the full use out of the item immediately
Because it was stupid. You could just be a late-game hunter and just stalk somebody from a distance while dishing out 200+ damage an auto while not being slowed at all because of the effect, if you hit auto's consistently at least.
Not sure if you will see this comment, but if you do I hope you know how far you’ve come as a being. Hearing the difference in your voice in more recent videos (only started watching your videos within this year btw) is amazing. You sound so much more confident and content with yourself, much love dude! Appreciate you and your love for this game more than you know
Mananki made physical gods insanely strong, and pretty much guaranteed a kill early on in solo. Early game, once every 2 seconds was basically every auto.
The timed versions of stacking items weren't their old versions, for example maat's tome existed ALONG book of thoth, they built of the same item, same with warlock's ring, ascendence, etc. That's why they have similar, but not the same, names.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the rituals. Hey. let's turn Blink in to a 750 gold (later 1000) consumable that you can use any time you want, even if you're in the middle of getting jumped by three enemies at once. It was great for getting out of ugly situations but I understand why it was removed.
Whilst I do miss hastened fatalis wall of absorption does seem pretty cool along with all those stacking items (ascendence, devourers touch etc) I never really used golden bow so yeah
smite.gamepedia.com/Manikin_Scepter Basically like Bluestone Pendant where it did tick damage but it worked on your basic attacks instead of abilities. Also it slowed people on hit.
Maniken Scepter would stack multiple times for each individual that had the item... Essentially resulting in a root if you had Atleast 3 people running which wasn't hard back in the day
Number 2 would be really broken on quite a few gods, say ao kuang. 1 vs 2 you lower one of them down enough to ult and you land nearby, pop your dragons and Invis and then unleash dat dragon and boom you got a god who will hit you faster than a lmg with an extra 50% of his magic damage. Sounds insanely broken. Just imagine a poly ao kuang doing that to you, and everyone knows how much poly on ao kuang does
Man I really miss Achille's Spear. It was a active and not an item but it was so cool and unique. Used to just buy it at the beggining of the match on Bellona, Ravana, Osiris etc.
It was definitely good to see fatalis taken out. That was such a stupid concept for an item in that game. What were they thinking with it, this is a game that is based off of positioning. If you screw up your positioning, then your opponent escapes. So naturally they added an item that completely removes the concept of positioning, and replace it with, hold forward and attack button. Now they just need to get rid of the replacement that they put in for the magic class.
Man i used to build bakasura with golden bow and hastened fatalis with frostbound hammer with the rest being crit and at the time it worked surprisingly well
Actually Ascendence and stuff where added up in addition to the current stack items and then removed cause the stacks where still stronger and noone bought the minute versions.
I miss hastened, I made a signature build with Poisden called the tidal build were I build pure speed. Now to make a long story short you know that buff that makes you shoot 3 basics instead of 1. Imagine that itcept you can't escape cuase hastened allowed me to catch up plus with all the other speed items and the other buff's ability to increase movement speed, and my full passive . I ended up having 1.5x stronger sprint every 10 seconds I will miss thoose days.
trust me, the focus mechanic was so horrible. Nowadays people still complain about how much CC this game has, now imagine an ymir with a freeze that lasted longer than 4 seconds. That's not fun.
Hastened Fatalis and Golden Bow. When they were removed I was not happy. It wasn't the end of the world though. I almost quit Smite over Hastened though. I barely have any boxing potential against assassins or warriors in a team fight now. I used to be able to punish foolish assassins for attacking me head on. I have ro admit though, since my movement isn't so wild, my carry game has improved.
Ma'at tome and the other items were not changed they got removed, they were in the same trees as their counter parts but got removed because no one built them.
Mercury is strong but it was better and funnier to play with golden bow Fatalis in other hand was best for me i played since 2014 and now its gone now hunters are weaker and we need to deal with that
most cancer items ever made and we all happy they do not exist anymore, made me play again.... I still have flashbacks getting killed by rama at level 1 with my support dying trying to bodyblock me... Fuck my life.
I miss golden now, not the ok version but I miss the weird builds you could have. With it. It was sometimes used I the old unicorn builds if people remember them
the reason that manikins scepter was never introduced is because it would have been extremely unbalanced. can you imagine a hunter burning you down with basics or how about belona and erlang shen blowing you up with burn damage every basic they hit and stacking! fuck that shit that would mean i could stun you and burn your health pool even faster than quins sci's already does. more importantly though it's passive is similar to malice, Odysseus bow and mystical mail which are still very bloated items in today's meta. for all you new comers to smite i highly suggest taking time to read passives on tier three items. basically makes your experience if your a smart player much more enjoyable.
Ankh was amazing because I would build a straight health athena and get that. It was so good because building pen did nothing against me and I had a lot of power
I dont think Fatalis was OP so to say... I just think they could've taken the penetration off it and it wouldn't have been as abused... even though I'm SURE it was removed because Cernnenos was released at the time and had a free frostbound in his kit but eh, details.
God, i was using golden bow for so long, getting made fun of for it... The thing was so fucking under rated before they buffed it, it did not need those buffs and could of remained the secret for those of us who were "dumb" enough to use it.
creamsykle Same with hastened fatalis for me... (just came back from a year break of smite to see it being removed) i used to get it on hunter just cause i love the feeling of not being so god damn slow... and everyone was like "lol that deals no dmg"
For most of these kids, if the pros are not building it, then the item is trash. They have no clue how to create their own builds. That requires Math, Vision, and more importantly lots of time in jungle practice attacking a bot.
Remember season 2 tank meta, can you believe there was a time when hunters had full power pre nerf golden bow and fatalis but it still wasntt OP because Tanks and Warriors were even more OP, back when Bellona and Vamana were literally S+++ tier Threat Level: God because of the old Runeforged Hammer
now future generations of smite players won't ever know how fatalis was and wonder how hunters would be if they had a "haste" effect :o
Sprint
Heavenly Wings*
Git memed my son
UGHGHGHGHGHGGHGHGH
good dont let them know about the cancer
Raul Sanchez hastened fatalis was for Bad Players...
Manikin Scepter was removed because it was as OP as Guan Yu on his release
It was triggered on basic attacks, so guan didn't use it that well. It was bought on every assassin and made them way to strong early. It was basically giving everyone da ji basic attacks except it also made their basics slow.
I don't think that was what he meant. I think he was comparing it to release Guan Yu in OPness, not literally saying it made Guan Yu OP.
Exactly micheal
F. Lovati guan was magical man, than get changed later on. What you talking about?
Yeah i misread. whoopsie.
the only 2 items I've ever had the chance to use were Fatalis and Golden bow.
Franco Venica same
Franco Venica yeee bin ther done thet...

I used to love the old Fatalis. My favorite god at the time was Chronos and with his two and no backstep penalty it made for great times. It was hilarious watching the melee players chase you and them never being able to catch you while you were still able to attack facing them
Yes, manakin scepter was taken out of the game because gods like osiris/arachne could just kill you lvl 1 and there was no counterplay.
Zachary Barkhorn Oh god I see it now. Osiris with 2 slows at level 1 would be fucking cancer.
Not sure if you played or not at the time of this item but bakasura was actually really strong at that point of the meta so building it on him was actually double op, and made bakasura extremely hard to fight at early levels because of his passive as well as the slow from the item.
Guess who's back.. Not broken as before but it is back
Golden bow would still be around if Hi-Rez didn't buff it in the first place.
I miss hastened fatalis. I used it on every assassin I had (low rank person, never saw a hunter with it, never saw the horror.) and loved it.
Or have golden bows passive be an enhanced feature like rage or shamans ring do just by doing damage, kills, assists, or even just over time it gains the aoe effect that merc and art loved so much.
CryptoChronos that any hunter loved*
LikeADerp99 well it was only ever built on merc and art until they buffed it if the took it back to where it was it could make art usable again
MAKE FUCKING GBOW MELE ONLY EZ FIX
i built it on everyone before it was buffed, but then they buffed and everything changed
Elijah Franks your going places, but you gotta think, technically ullr is a melee
I think Golden Bow should make a return as a starter item, but with the passive effect only affecting minions/camps and either have no power or very low power on it. I think they could make that item balanced, it just needed number tweeking that they didnt seem to want to do. But i think it would make for a good starter item.

Your prayers have been answered my friend 😂
I love the change on the confidence in voice over the years
A lot of the items that are "existing items but with a different passive" came from a period during the beta where hi-rez tried to implement alternative upgrade paths for items, situational variations.

And sol since she already gets a max of 25% extra basic attack damage from her passive + 50% that would come from the item.
Sol didnt have to use all her abilities to get her passive, so the item will be useless. People like freya and NuWa (old) had to use all their abilities at the same time. I'd hope to say my content has improved since these days haha

RIP GOLDENBOW
They really should bring back golden bow and make it melee only
MoMoGon Agreed. Really helped solo laners who couldn't cleave out.. The problem is that it would make cleaves even more op. How do they fix that?
NinGangsta tbh I dont think so. I doubt we would ever going to see osiris, bel etc building a crit item and those are the ones that take advantage the most of cleave.

Oh how I miss Golden Bow, the item that made Bakasura relatively viable for a short period of time before it was removed.
Your #8 spread a bit of misinformation. They were counterparts to current items, the current ones are pretty much the same as theyve always been.
Ma'at's tome, devourers touch, warlocks ring, and ascendance weren't changed into the items that are currently in the game they all existed at the same time. This was back when items didn't all branch from 1 similar item and instead had their own trees. Manikin Scepter got removed because it broke the game in the most un-fun way for everyone except the user

Cesar R.I.P Hastened Fatalis, I used you since season 2 and now you're gone ;-;
Old gauntlet of Thebes and Hercules=unkillable
How abouy midas boots?
They removed all the items that make you feel like a god.
I liked Dementor's Doll most. they managed to bring it back in the game in a much weaker way with the current Ethereal Staff though.
trust me, the focus mechanic was so horrible.
I miss the old ethereal staff
Manikin Sceptre was beyond broken, it made Arachne SS
I will miss Hastened Fatalis and Golden Bow so hard one of the best items
Rest in peace, sweet Mercury.
Mercury is strong but it was better and funnier to play with golden bow
Fatalis in other hand was best for me i played since 2014 and now its gone now hunters are weaker and we need to deal with that
most cancer items ever made and we all happy they do not exist anymore, made me play again....
I still have flashbacks getting killed by rama at level 1 with my support dying trying to bodyblock me...
Fuck my life.
Nigga said hunters are weaker now that fatalis is gone lol
Hunters have been strong for a while now, Fatalis just catalised that(when it got buffed with the 10 flat pen)
Boombas mask being by far my favorite one
There's a new item for physical coming out soon that's exactly like the number 2 item but instead of it being magical it's physical
Wrath of heaven cdr works against the passive. My abilities wouldn't be on cooldown long enough for me to take use of it
golden bow with jing wei was amazing
Thanatos with manikin scepter was a problem as well as other assassins.
I miss golden now, not the ok version but I miss the weird builds you could have. With it. It was sometimes used I the old unicorn builds if people remember them
Golden Bow should return as exclusive item for Assassins and Warriors like Fatalis full effect.
the issue with Ankh was that ORIGINAL thebes meant that you just stacked stupid amounts of health and it was not fun to play with xD
SuperSonicBlur old school Herc with gauntlet of Thebes and ankh :)
Fatalis will never be forgotten
AlinBOSS 2005 im glad its gone, crutchlike if you ask me
Mercury main so golden bow :(
the reason that manikins scepter was never introduced is because it would have been extremely unbalanced. can you imagine a hunter burning you down with basics or how about belona and erlang shen blowing you up with burn damage every basic they hit and stacking! fuck that shit that would mean i could stun you and burn your health pool even faster than quins sci's already does. more importantly though it's passive is similar to malice, Odysseus bow and mystical mail which are still very bloated items in today's meta. for all you new comers to smite i highly suggest taking time to read passives on tier three items. basically makes your experience if your a smart player much more enjoyable.
Ankh was amazing because I would build a straight health athena and get that. It was so good because building pen did nothing against me and I had a lot of power
We can all agree that most interesting meta for hunters is the one with Golden bow. I mean come on Artemis was viable for once.
rageface memeaholic she's still fun and good to play
FlufflyKittyEater only cause she voiced by touka
I felt like old quins with lifesteal was pretty crazy
>top 10
>no particular order
RIP frostalis meta you will not be missed
I dont think Fatalis was OP so to say... I just think they could've taken the penetration off it and it wouldn't have been as abused... even though I'm SURE it was removed because Cernnenos was released at the time and had a free frostbound in his kit but eh, details.
actually those items were not changed to the ones in game... you could build both way back then in the beta
4:30 Me favorite item...
#REST #IN #PEACE !!
Lol at the end clip, -sees Group up spam- *begins typing: Group the fuck up. Pls.*
Beautiful
Lmao. Entire team was spamming to group up and then walking off into the jungle on their own anyway.
Inters3ct Gaming haha isn't that every game though? :,)
Why did you quit you channel is awesome
What do you mean? I still upload
Should've seen the old Gauntlet of Thebes. You could have like 3k health at lv 11
we will miss you golden bow...
Fatalis was cancer. Good riddance to that bullshit crutch.
They should make a katana that works like golden bow so hunters can't access it but mercury and serqet can have their niche item back
They do its called golden blade
This popped up on my recommended and manakin scepter finally made the cut😂
The nostalgia
Fucking loved that meta. Cause I'm a solo main. I can see it being pretty cancer for non tank players though.
