Thanks there are tabs on my website. Check out my Artmagic DVD's for Acoustic guitar styles for more licks and tricks, available on Amazon or Artsmagic website.
I like your feel for the blues max, these simple licks ARE the blues, the great blues players kept it simple so thank you for taking the time to show a great sound.when you have time can you do more call and answer licks in a E blues 12 bar format so I can make up my own lyrics to it
Max, thank you for all your videos. My Blues playing has vastly improved in no small measure due to your clearly presented lessons and very clean playing!
Greetings Max, Thanks for making it easy to follow. everyone learns in their own unique way and your teaching style suits my learning style quite well. I appreciate the time and effort that you have put into making this knowledge available to would-be blues guitar players.
Max Milligan I must agree with Alfred below, it's funny and satisfying to play these legendary and sweet sounding riffs - only problem is, that you can't stop just jamming with the clip when you have learned the first one. But now I'll go and stay super focused and will learn it all. What differs this lesson from similar lessons at RUclips is that you take your time to follow the riff to the last note, so we understand at precisely which note to come home, which is the most important to make that authentic blues sound.
Thanks, would love to see more of this kind of stuff. I'm very experienced in country blues and slide but want to develop more acoustic lead and especially in E. Thanks again!
Hi max this is a great little lesson mate. I'm sure you are a busy man but maybe one day you could you show us and break down some lightnin Hopkins trademark licks? Much appreciated. Lee.
Awesome as always Max. Very clear and at a nice slow pace. I know these are basic licks but it really helps us new blues players have something to build on. A great platform to work from, thanks once again.
Hi, yea a bit manic at the moment with gigs and recording. I am working on a Chet Atkins style dvd lesson for Artsmagic at the moment along with Elmore James and Pete Townsend. I will work on your request. :o)
That's fine, I never push exams onto my students but I do have several who leave school at a professional playing level and a grade 7 or 8. Here in the UK they get UCAS points from grade 6 to assist with entry into University so at least their skills and study are recognised by educational institutions. The most important thing is that you get enjoyment from playing at whatever level.:o)
Hi Max Milligan, This little lick has taken a long time to get to New Zealand mate, Maybe thats why, we only heard you (At the end of the lick) say, I'm using a B & D notes, by the time it got to little old NZ the name of the chord must have drifted off, Anybody who says you look like David G must be shagging sheep,,,,,, Regards,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Gib
I have had this video up a long time but I just changed the tags to be the same as my most viewed lesson an all of a sudden it is getting more views. :) Check out the dead thumb lesson.
Hello Max Finally got your DVD sent to me in Thailand Blues & Ragtime.. Are the TABS on your website?...I noticed you had a lot of tabs there.. from the Artists styles you used in the lessons "MAKES things EASIER to learn"...but no mention in the DVD about Tabs
Yes just go to the website and click Blues & Ragtime DVD and there are pdf's there. The company I did the videos just wanted them to be like an hour one to one at a low budget.Putting the tab on screen would have cost too much money so I kept my studio charts and posted them on my website. Good luck.
Hi Joe, I have an E blues jam track on my channel. I will upload an 8 bar groove in the style of "Send Me an Angel Down" soon.Busy with gigs at the moment.:o)
