Il Grande Silenzio (The Great Silence) - Ennio Morricone

  • Questa è una colonna sonora praticamente sconosciuta di un bel film completamente fuori dai canoni dei soliti western spaghetti. Una musica che ci porta con l'immaginazione al Grande Nord innevato e gelido. I suoni sono cristallini e puri come note ottenute battendo sulle stalattiti di uno xilofono di ghiaccio. Grande Morricone.
    This is a almost completely unknown soundtrack of a good film that is completely out of the usual spaghetti westerns norm. This music accompanies us in imagination to the Great North, snowy and icy. The sounds are crystal clear and pure as the notes obtained by beating up an ice stalactites made xylophone . Great Morricone.

    La fantastica colonna sonora di un film bellissimo e, putroppo, sottovalutato!!

    • @silviazanicotti5054
      @silviazanicotti5054 4 года назад +2

      Sottovalutato perché fuori dagli schemi e avanti coi tempi, già nella scelta dei protagonisti, che sembrano usciti dalla penna di Shakespeare. Il "cattivo" Tigrero (Kinski) è un bounty killer che agisce sempre "secondo la legge", per quanto dura ed ingiusta ed il "buono", Silenzio (Trintignant) è invece una sorta di mercenario, sempre ai limiti della legalità. Sono però due antagonisti perfetti: Tigrero è astuto, freddo, avido ed amorale, considera gli esseri umani carne da macello mentre Silenzio è un eroe anomalo, vulnerabile, temibile pistolero, certo, ma anche un uomo menomato (muto fin dall'infanzia da quando gli furono recise le corde vocali, per una truce ritorsione). Entrambi si muovono in un mondo selvaggio ed abbruttito, dove non c'è più posto per bontà e bellezza, il finale tragico, ne è la naturale conseguenza.

      Spaghetti Western are the true Western Movies. The Italians taught the Americans to tell something different from the melancholy and childish stories with John Wayne. This is because Italians do not lack true and difficult stories but told with an extremely human and always profound and introspective attitude.
      It could be said that spaghetti westerns are true and hard stories simply set in an imaginary western that could be the perfect theater to give vent and freedom to the natuira of the protagonists.
      Obviously I speak of the masterpieces, not the many improvised who climbed into the bandwagon to live in reflected light ...

    What an amazing score - one of Morricone's more under-rated works. It is astounding as a piece of music and I haven't even seen the film. Riposa in pace, Ennio, il maestro!

    (I really want to see The Great Silence, but it is rarely screened in the UK. The Blu Ray is very expensive on Amazon.)
