Incredible Edda Dell'Orso. She is out of this world. Nobody can remotely come close to her. She has a spectacular voice that will transcend time and space for eternity. Infinite thanks Maestro Ennio for choosing her for many of your amazing works of musical art. I would gladly die in her arms when my time comes. A voice of an angel for sure. Maybe she is secretly one. I would have loved to see her perform live.
Edda SOARS. I always dreamed of being in the studio, hearing her doing it live. Legend has it that she did her performances in one take (a little bit exhaggerated, I think) and only the fantasy words - Pidgin English and other vocal sound effects like panting and screaming - she improvised on the spot. She recorded a lLOT of these cues. She was a very, very professional vocalist for sure, and in Rome hot in demand. Europe and America had no idea what Italy had in store! There was Christianne Legrand, Daniele Licari, Letty De Jong and one other I've forgotten, but there was no Edda!
In an interview, the Maestro said something about this: "Edda is very professional. But she's not suitable for live performances" Whut? I always doubted that. He suggested that she has not enough power in her voice?? Edda was famous for studio recordings in one take, witnesses have said that she rarely had to do it over again. And vocal volume can be enhanced, in the studio. There's more to Morricone's remark, I suspect. But we'll never know.... There is a clip on YT from a 1967's TV show where about six female singers from I Cantori Moderni perform a song, conducted by Ennio himself, and every singer has a short solo moment, and the last one steps out of that line to the front-- Eddah. She sounds fine, but I don't know if this was really live... I must say that during the last 10 years Edda performed in a small venue series, (they are to be found on YT somwhere) but by that time her voice had lost it's clarity and power notably. She was already in her late seventies.
OMG ...so beautiful tunes, how he used to make......from INDIA Mumbai....RIP Morricone... So many greats like Allessandro, Morricone, Bruno, Trovajaoli, Piccioni, Berto Pisano, Cipriani, Bongusto......endless....originates from ITALY 🇮🇹
where is this recorded from since there is no vinyl crackling sounds in it ? I bought copy of the 2016 re-print and it's even mint! and it has those crackling sound in it I think the original print has them since even after cleaning those crackles sounds the same :/
I love this music.Does anyone know of any other film scores to check out that would be similar to this? I know of some Morricone, mostly the spaghetti western stuff, I want more of this moody jazzy style of music!
Hi Ladypodtron, I'd try his Veruska soundtrack as the gold standard ruclips.net/video/v81dgyeIlJI/видео.html and maybe this piero piccioni compilation ruclips.net/video/8rZA9jVTqho/видео.html and getting in to the realm of less serious music there's the soundtrack to Vampyros Lesbos ruclips.net/video/bg-HMdpRpFs/видео.html and this French compilation ruclips.net/video/4Y5j3M0mrlU/видео.html and to top it off a sprinkling of this Piero Umiliani comp ruclips.net/video/m-9-5an-XMs/видео.html all from my youtube channel, its been great listening to some of them while making this list! there you go, I've let you into all my soundtrack secrets!
@george michas - After reading your comment I went for a look about RUclips. As you say, there's no English subtitled version. But, I did get RUclips's translator to "work" in a somewhat clumsy fashion. A struggle at times but it's doable.
@@georgemichas3393 - Here's the one I found on RUclips. It's only 1 hr and 15 minutes though. Not sure if some is missing or the uploader has speeded the film up a little to get around copyright. You can change the subtitle language to Italian in the settings and to translate into English. As mentioned, it's a little clumsy and sometimes the subtitles aren't there long enough to read it all. Despite those minor niggles, George, it's watchable. Hope you enjoy ... :) ruclips.net/video/_L-J1ddvkEo/видео.html
george michas this sounds like a fun challenge. I wonder if there are some boards still around that i bookmarked that had a lot of foreign rips and giallos. I still know a couple there are around. Have you tried using the English title?
True but the soundtrack being so good has it's use in other things. I use it for a playlist for a ghibli fantasy game. It Absolutely lifts my spirits and takes me to a whole new world of imagination and fun

Wonderful selection!
Piero Piccioni is a must!
Piero Piccioni, Armando Trovajoli, Stelvio Cipriani
I've often thought that Martin Hannett borrowed from Track #3 for this production of the Name's "Night Shift."
Also, bass line of title track borrowed for Hannett's production of ESG's "UFO."
Can't find the film anywhere with eng subs.
