Most iconic British rock clubs, including the Cavern, were jazz clubs. Musicians always went to jazz clubs. Pop groups were put on at the Cavern at lunchtime to subsidise the jazz club. This is why Ringo and the other British drummers of note were so good. Because they LISTENED to the jazz drummers and we were able to ask questions. A legendary Liverpool drum teacher was Red Carter. everyone seemed to go to Red at some time or other.

This is the best demo of a killer swinging solo. Everyone from Tony Williams to John Bonham are covered.

Bruce, I wish I'd had someone like you to learn from years ago. Is it ever too late to remedy problems?

The eye-catching first impression is watching Bruce ripping around the kit but looks like slow motion.

Student needs to feel the wave from the elbow down and not play just from wrists. Look at the teacher’s elbow.
