Bruce Becker is one of the top Drum Teachers on the planet. He does a great job of explaining the physical movements of drumming. I have tried to explain what I have learned from him to my students. And of course I am still learning myself. That never stops.

The best Moeller lesson I've seen so far. Everything simply explained. Great teacher :)

Bruce...Love your videos...Good way to show Moeller without getting crazy like some guys do....This is the way Jim Chapin taught me..A very simple approach. All my students get this stuff.I demonstrate Gruber,Murray Spivack, and Henry Adler, which was taught to me by ed Shaughnessy.Good work.

Great teaching. Super clear.... deepest Moeller video I've watched. Mind you I've only watched 3 :)

Great video. For those that are wondering, it’s more of an interview of Bruce explaining the theory behind the Moeller technique and how he approaches the system.

Excellent lesson and I loved his reasoning behind practicing rudiments to benifit overall playing. very inspiring.

Moeller helped me a lot, but not as much as push/pull. Push/pull saturated everything I did and fixed all weaknesses I had with finger control. My doubles and singles got faster without practicing them. Just by doing 30 minutes a day of push/pull practice I was able to hold doubles and singles at 200bpm when previously I had been stuck around 180.

+RazeTheWeak That's great! Maybe because the Push-Pull involves more the motion of fingers and wrist so it helps practicing those parts of the body, while the Moeller technique is more of an arm whipping motion!

RazeTheWeak use both! moeller is really useful for getting that pop from your snare when playing rock music. Try playing just the first stroke over and over to develop power on the snare. when playing a big arena Show, you have to exaggerate your movements to be seen. practicing the Moeller full stroke will get you that while still being relaxed

RazeTheWeak how did you practice push/pull? I have been practicing it daily but can't seem to get any faster on it. Maybe because its not a very small motion? (Wrist plus fingers)
Any tips would be helpful :)

I do not know if this was a real lesson or just recorded for the youtube purposes. But if i was the student sitting there, i would rather play and have him giving me all the good advices. Whereas in this video it seems, that the student would not be able by any chance to learn this technique by simply listening to him going throug all these different aspects of the technique. He is moving far too quickly and not letting the student actully try it enough. It would have been interesting to see more, what kind of mistakes the student does, as that would be generally similar to what anybody does, who watchs this video.

i'm a teacher -- not drums! -- and i get the same impression: this is just for YT. Katzbach is right about actual instruction, though. nice post.

This isn't teaching. This is "watch me do this." I would last exactly one practice with this guy.
