Binatone 5-Star CB27/81 UK FM CB radio - demodify, repair & service alignment.

Another situation where a flagship Cybernet 134 has been played with & had the 'kiss of death' illegal 80-channel modification. Unusually the set turned out to be still working.
After removing the illegal expansion board, it was discovered the delta tune switch had been repurposed so loads of time was wasted researching how the three position switch needed to be rewired. It transpired that the person doing the illegal mod had made the set receive in permanent minus delta tune position. The channel 9 switch had become a channel 9 switch; this was reversed too. A crystal filter had been fitted, which I left...though it isn't a 10.695Mhz type meaning the rx will be very slightly lop-sided. In reaity, it doesn't matter.
The low power preset needed replacement.
Later on it wss discovered the set didn't select all channels owing to a cracked PCB track on the channel switch sub-board.

Nice to see the rubbish modification removed and the set restored to it's former glory it will work for many years to come now, and I look forward to the scratchy corner test.
