No. The Oak Ridge Boys are a legend in Country music. This was one of their biggest hits. They started in Gospel music then transitioned to Country. They had 17 number one hits. Great pick and reaction Harri!
The Oak Ridge Boys are Country Music Royalty in the USA, and this was one of their hit songs 40+ years ago. They were famous for four part harmony and bass pedal tones. The ORB are the older gents here and were a big influence on Home Free members.
I am so glad you reacted to this collaboration between Home Free & The Oakridge Boys. You can see the great respect these 2 groups have for each other. The Oakridge Boys are mentors to Home Free & it is like they are passing the baton to a newer version of themselves. They have performed together on the Grand Ole Opry. Adam Rupp is the vocal percussion beatboxer. He is the best in the business. He can simulate drums & any other sounds perfectly. Home Free is my favorite a cappella group. They are so talented yet very humble guys.
Older generation schooling the younger generation!! Love the looks they throw at each other when the other one is singing the part they usually do!! 🤣… Jeff Castellucci from Voice Play helped arrange this between the two groups!! The oaks have become friends and mentors to home free! They did a great collaboration last Christmas singing “oh beautiful star of Bethlehem”!!! Nice Reaction!!
My gosh! I’m an 8 year old again, sitting in the backseat of my parents car during a family road trip. They were HUGE fans of The Oak Ridge Boys (so was I). Thank you for a trip back to my childhood Harri.
The Oak Ridge Boys started out as the Oak Ridge Quartet, a 1940's gospel group whose genre was 50s Southern Gospel. I believe the original singers worked at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory near Oak Ridge, Tenn. The name change came about in the early sixties but were still doing gospel. In the mid-70s, they switched to country music but still do gospel as well as their country songs. Hari, there are plenty of Oak Ridge Songs to be reacted to. Good hunting.
#HarribestMusicReaction ... The Oak Ridge Boys... Now I'm 57 and Black from the Inner City; but I grew up around Quartet music and we all sang Elvira -- Everyone wanted to do the Bass Part!!! Great Memory...
Three Oak Ridge Boys songs I liked back in the 70's..."Come On In" ,. "One In A Million" , "Y'all Come Back Saloon"... Great sing along songs. Home Free really Idolized The Oak Ridge Boys. Home Free guys were getting oak ridge to sign their shirts. The one Oak Ridge guy had long hair and beard because he joined a group of folks who live like old pioneers from the 1800's. Loved their music!
Thanks for reacting to these two terrific groups. So much fun watching and listening to them all. Nice that they have become friends and have fun together. Lot of info below so I will leave it there. Thanks again.
Such a good video. Home Free and the Oak Ridge Boys are friends and have collaborated a couple of times. They really like each other and it shows. They’re all so good. You’re right Adam is the beatboxer. Rob (glasses) is a tenor, Austin (reddish hair) high tenor, Chris (ball cap or sometimes a cowboy hat) baritone and Tim (long hair) is the bass. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo and was replaced by Chance who is a baritone/bass. Helplessly Hoping, One Man Band, Take Me Home Country Roads to hear more great harmonies. Good reaction HarriBest.
The Oak Ridge Boys song "Elvira" came out in 1981, and was a big hit. It's original debut was in 1966, by another artist. Oak Ridge Boys were not acapella.
I agree with previous comments. This song is 40 years old this year. Go back and listen to the original. These guys were not a capella, but they were just a great country harmony group, and this was one of their biggest hits. I'm sure the guys from Home Free grew up listening to these guys so it must have been a great honor for them to collaborate on this one.
Speaking of Christmas - the Oak Ridge Boys were guests on Home Free's online Christmas show last December. I recommend checking out the video of "Beautiful Town of Bethlehem" with Home Free, the Oak Ridge Boys, and Jeffrey East. I've been a huge fan of the Oak Ridge Boys for years. They've become sort of mentors to Home Free. Richard Sterban (the bass for the Oaks) has probably the deepest voice I'd every heard - till I heard Tim Foust!
Tim's the bass from Home Free always wanted to be Richard Sterban. The Oak Ridge Boys have become mentors to them since they did this song together. Thank you for your reaction.
The Oak Ridge Boys are another great band. If you like this song, I'd suggest checking out Bobbie Sue by the Oak Ridge Boys. Another fun song from about the same time.
The Oak Ridge boys started as backup singers for Johnny Cash they went off on their own and became one of the biggest country groups in the US! Elvira is one of their number one hits.
Richard Sterban is the bass singer for the Oakridge Boys. In his prime he was sensational with songs "Elvira" "Bobbie Sue" and Dream On." J.D. Sumner (who I got to speak with on two occasions ---early 1970s and late 1980s) had what was regarded as the lowest bass voice for a few decades. J.D. was Richard's mentor. Richard was hired by J.D. as part of the Stamps quartet. The Stamps backed up Elvis in concert and recordings. But in late 1972 Richard joined the Oakridge Boys.
Enjoyed your reaction. They are called vocal bands. Two suggestions if I may: when the video you are reactIng to has a large number of performers you might consider letting it take up the larger portion of the screen. Also, Home Free and The Oakridge Boys has an outstanding collaboration "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem".
The Oak Ridge Boys, if I remember correctly, would stand in line at microphones and always have a backing band. They were not an a capella band. Elvira was huge in 1981. Country crossovers were doing well then, because of the huge hit movie Urban Cowboy.
A brief history of the Oak Ridge Boys. Disclaimer: I learned most of this many years ago so, I may have a few things wrong. Oak Ridge is a city in Tennessee, USA that was built by the government in the early 1940's for the then top secret Manhattan project. Everyone who worked there lived there. The Manhattan project was for the Atomic Bomb. They enriched the uranium used in the atomic bomb. Very few people were allowed security clearance to come to Oak Ridge to visit. There was one gospel group that were the entertainers allowed in. They were later named The Oak Ridge Quartet. They were a successful gospel group for many years. In the 1970's ( I think), they crossed over to country music and changed the name to The Oak Ridge Boys. They still sing some gospel. Fun fact: Richard, the one with the incredible deep voice, as a child was a boy soprano.
I think Geoff Castellucci helped with the arrangement of this. If you haven't already you need to check out some of his covers like Blackbirds, 16 Tons, and House of the Rising Son.
You should listen to the hit version The Oak Ridge Boys did in th 1980s - ruclips.net/video/78StTWsq9ag/видео.html There's also a video with them singing the song earlier this year at the Grand Ole Oprey.

This song is great. Even non country fans all knew this song when the Oak Ridge Boys did it originally. Fantastic collaboration! 🌺✌️

I would recommend reacting the Home Free’s freak of nature Adam Rupp’s “Drum Solo” to see why they don’t need instruments.

I have been an Old fan of the Oak Ridge Boys WOW......and put them with Home Free.....as you say RIDICULOUS!!!!
Oak Ridge Boys are legendary, along with the Statler Brothers ❤️

The Oak Ridge Boys are not an a cappella group but obviously they don’t need instruments to hit the notes on pitch.
❤❤
They got their start in 1947 as The Oak Ridge Quartet. They covered Elvira in 1981
Three Oak Ridge Boys songs I liked back in the 70's..."Come On In" ,. "One In A Million" , "Y'all Come Back Saloon"... Great sing along songs.

I agree. Home Free w/ The Oakridge Boys absolutely knocked it out of the park. And we won't rescue you. It's a good place in this rabbit hole.

Oak Ridge Boys are a country/gospel band that were really huge in the 70s and 80s. Lots of charted country songs.
When my daughter was 2-3 years old this song and ""Celebrate" were her favorites. Whenever we played them she would dance up a storm.
The Oak Ridge Boys song "Elvira" came out in 1981, and was a big hit. It's original debut was in 1966, by another artist. Oak Ridge Boys were not acapella.

Another Oak Ridge Boys song you might like is Bobby Sue.

Love this song oak ridge boys are a country group singers
Tim's the bass from Home Free always wanted to be Richard Sterban. The Oak Ridge Boys have become mentors to them since they did this song together. Thank you for your reaction.
I love this song by these two groups! Great reaction!
Check out the original version by The Oak Ridge Boys . I think you'll dig it . 👍🏻❤️☮️☕
The Oakridge Boys really made this song famous in 1981
so glad you finally found my favorite song at the moment.
This song is my childhood... we had a dance to it!! You should check out the original song they did. This is good but original is classic!!
Oak Ridge boys have been around since the 70's with a bunch of gold records.
Yes, Oak Ridge Boys did it originally.
Thanks for the reaction, Harri! Are you now officially a Home Fry?
The Oak Ridge Boys are another great band. If you like this song, I'd suggest checking out Bobbie Sue by the Oak Ridge Boys. Another fun song from about the same time.
The Oak Ridge boys started as backup singers for Johnny Cash they went off on their own and became one of the biggest country groups in the US! Elvira is one of their number one hits.
One of the saddest songs I ever heard is....I'll Be True To You, by the Oakridge Boys.
One of my favourite songs

The Oak Ridge Boys gospel song from the sixties, one of their best...Jesus Is Coming Soon.
they are country but originally they sang gospel.
Yep, Adam Rupp….he’s truly Amazing 🥰‼️🥰 And, he can sing …but prefers his Beat Boxing.
My mom would love this
Check out a live concert, Adam usually does a segment all on his own, showing off his skill.
Adam rupps best beatboxer around.such talent ❣️🔥🍟

Home Free is I think are the little brothers of the Oke ridge boys they're both assume.
Dive into Hone Free please! You will be amazed!!!!
You gotta review The Oak Ridge Boy's Elvira from 1981!!
It is said that Elvira bought all of the Oak Ridge Boys a new house!
I think Geoff Castellucci helped with the arrangement of this. If you haven't already you need to check out some of his covers like Blackbirds, 16 Tons, and House of the Rising Son.

Harri you should react to The Oakridge Boys , American Made
You should watch Adam Rupp's drum solo video. It is amazing
Try some Kindred Fire~ Valentine for a modern twist on this sound ❤️
Adam Rupp has a video doing a drum solo. He swallowed a drum set.
the Okridge boys are Country music like Alabama
Remember how hot the guy that’s bass used to be? Lol
👍👍👍👍💯❤️
The Oak Ridge Boys weren't an a cappella group. They were great, though!
You should react to The Statler Brothers song "We Got Paid by CASH"
ORB are country gospel royalty.
Hi Harri, I love you reaction videos, please I will love if you do the reaction to Boyz II Men - End of the Road (Home Free Cover)
Adam Rupp is the beat boxer!
Subscribed. I think this is the 2nd reaction I saw from you. Have you done Home Free "Hillbilly Bone" or "Mayday" yet?
Pull up the original song under the oak ridge boys. Live is good. I thought they were country first then gospel.
Adam Rupp.
this is ok, but i absolutely love the origional. i think it was much better.
The original version is better to me. You should react to it.
I think this terrible compared to when the oak ridge boys did it by themselves
Home free sucks , no original songs , should always do the original, oak ridge boys
