I used to listen to this with my parents when I was a kid! My dad owned this particular episode on cassette, and I made him play it over and over again during the holidays. I’m 22 now, and remembered it just now and thought to look for it now because I can’t sleep lol.
I did not see the 1947 film anywhere on television for the first time. I could not be more grateful for the DVD. This story about warmth is always needed
@@LAFan You are so right. The 1947 version gives you that at home during your childhood feeling. The only time we did not worry. We all need to feel safe. Happy 2022 to you
I found this by accident! I’m a fan of several old radio programs and a fan of the ‘Miracle On 34th Street” movie; but had no idea this existed. To hear the audio adaptation - with several of the main characters being portrayed by the actors who were in the movie - was a wonderful gift! Thank you for making this available! How fantastic!
the lux radio show did that for all its shows, when possible. They hired the original cast for all re broadcasts, these were done as a very deliberate gift to service members in ww2 who were not home but overseas serving. The American public was incredibly involved in every issue of morale and support imaginable. M. IL. Marine daughter.
Very nice! It's amazing how good of a job they're able to do with trimming a full movie down to less than an hour. If you took out all the ad time, you've only got what, maybe 45 minutes of story? Yet it doesn't feel like it's missing much.
I think this is one of the best Lux episodes I've heard, ten out of ten in all department (stores!!!!) So so good a must listen and we all need a Chris Cringle don't we!!??
Thank you so much for sharing this. I am listening to this a month away from Christmas, but I have to admit I listen to this anytime I just need a smile or to have fond memories of the first time I saw this on television as a little girl 😊
I looked for this movie my favorite Christmas movie but it wasn’t shown for free this year since some company remade it modern style and are promoting the watching of that version- MAJOR DISAPPOINTING & NOT VERY CHRISTMAS-¥! But then THANK GOD FOR LUX RADIO RE-dramatization! It’s a MIRACLE ON MY STREET! What a GIFT!🎄🎅🏼👨🏼💼👩🏻👧🏻💋👂🏼
This is such an amazing production. The best movie and the radio show! And I missed the very beginning... I know Mrs. Walker, Susan, and Mr. Galey are the same as the movie. But is that also Edmund Gwynn and Thelma Ritter too?? I’m up late by myself, sitting here listening to this while I write out my Christmas cards. I pray that all viewing this have a wonderful Christmas full of love, joy, and hope.
The real Miracle story! wish we could see the film on RUclips. so many great old films are hard to find! Thanks so very much for this. Keep safe and Have a Happy, Merry :} 🎄🌲🕯✨
It is a shame that no one airs this movie any more! It used to be shown on TV years ago. But it seems like, recently, no networks have been airing it. It SHOUKD be aired RIGHT AFTER the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!
"LUX PRESENTS.....HOLLYWOOD!" {theme up and under} "Lever Brothers Company, the makers of Lux Flakes, brings you....the 'LUX RADIO THEATER'! Well, we are by no means "stars", but in our own right we do community theatre and this show, (in radio format) is up for auditions. My wife and myself are members of the Hardin County Players in Ohio and we listened to this to get a feel for ehat part we might want to try out for. I am pretty old, but still have a voice and to bring a smile to an audience ... well .... that would be icing on the cake. I think I will shoot for the part of Mr. Macy and hope for the best.

Still listening to Lux radio theatre in 2021. Thanks for getting me through covid pandemic.

I just watched it last night. It is available to stream online for FREE. The 1947 film version will always be the classic.

Lux Theater always did a fine job of condensing the popular movies of the period into sort radio presentations. It makes for very good listening!

I’ve loved this movie my whole life and I’ve never known about this. What a wonderful surprise and Christmas gift.

I did that too.
First I havent left one .But anyone who listened to this beleaves as I do in Santa Claus.
Its one of the best old radio plays in relation to Christmas who can deny?
That sounds really cozy!!
I love this. The fact that they got the original stars to partake in it and reprise their film roles makes it all the more special.

@@mwatts-riley2688 I feel so lucky for discovering these gems.

Lux soap helps nylon stockings last twice as long? 🤔 My wife will be thrilled! 😄
Good show! I really want to do a GoAnimate version of a radio play based on this one.

I know this is an absolute long shot, but four years later I’m curious how those auditions went.
love that excited gasp when they mention Frank Sinatra will be in next week's episode.
The very young Natalie Wood.
Mr. Macy sounds like Fred Flintstone.
Robert Elmore ....he is
That is Alan Reed😘The Voice of Fred Flintstone.
Don't make um this good anymore.
No miracles this year!
You are wrong there are miracles
My mother used Lux to wash out my mouth after that I had a sparkling Tongue lol
