Can I withdraw my refugee claim and get back my seized passport from Canadian government? I no longer want to live in Canada. Please advise.
Yes, you can withdraw your asylum case in Canada, but you must do so before the claim is referred to the Refugee Protection Division (RPD): 1. Complete and sign the IMM 5317B form, "Withdrawal of a Claim for Refugee Protection Prior to Referral to the Refugee Protection Division" 2. Complete any other required documentation 3. Submit the completed form to your regional RPD office by mail, fax, or in person You cannot withdraw your claim by email. Once you withdraw your claim, you will not be able to make another refugee protection claim in Canada. If your claim has already been referred to the RPD, you must withdraw it at the RPD.
@AbdullahAbid-u3w I think my case has already been referred to RPD. We were also given work permits at the time of submitting our family passports. I am going through severe stress and depression right now since I came here. I have no work/job/business here. Just spending money I brought from Pakistan.
