Actually, your phone /Google/Facebook can read your minds now. First they were able to recommend content based on your conversations with friends/family. Now they can read your mind. Its true. Even in your Gmail, you'll see ads targeting you based on what you actually said during the day. Your phone is always listening. Even Amazon does it.
Backgrounds are a pain to draw, but great rewards are at the end when you finally color/paint it then finalize it.

I like drawing backgrounds more than i like drawing the characters on the background after i finish'em. It's irritating, i spend you're time detailing the place to create an atmosphere, and then you have to cover half of it with people... Sad, sad story. BTW, loved the black chick, she reminds me of a character in Static Shock.

If you master the basics of manga, background is cheesecake. The problem is they take too long to finish even the undetailed ones.

Stick with backgrounds which can be easily painted, saves so much time instead of drawing background by hand. You can draw the things in the foreground
backgrounds can also be useful for tactics during a fight.
I LOVE your character designs! Their facial expressions as well as body language really portray each characters' different personality. As a fellow manga artist, your videos have really helped me try to improve my artwork. And the turtle is so cute!

My favorite backgrounds would be
Konoha from Naruto, the Moon Kingdom from Sailor Moon, the Seireitei from Bleach and the Spirit World from Yu Yu Hakusho, to name a few. They hold a lot history within these series and the design is amazing. Which is why I picked these but there are more.
I feel like opening a bottle of whiskey at the thought of drawing backgrounds........ but watching this video made me realize I got no choice but to improve.

Backgrounds are the most underrated thing in drawing
Been a bane of mine, just due to the my lack of skill in perspective. I kind of pull a Jack Kirby or Akira Toriyama and give a backdrop in one or two panels to establish the where and then go on with characters ...but much needed reminders here thanks
Yeah soul eaters dwma was my favorite mostly becuase the 3d was used to make it perfectly symmetrical which made more sense then to just 2d it.

My mother walked in during one of the AoT clips. Never hit fast forward so fast. Would have had a hard time explaining that one.
Backgrounds suck to draw, BUT they just look so good when they’re done~ ugh! Backgrounds take so long though and then you have to cover up the hard work sometimes with the characters. Not to mention, when I try to draw characters in dynamic poses, drawing the background from certain angles gets really confusing.

screw backgrounds man. I work on a few pieces at a time and also procrastinate backgrounds so it always ends up that I end up working on backgrounds for 3 days straight because that's where my logjam is. appreciate the tips

Maybe i don't have the right to give advice but here something i learned over the years. Practice and Studing is the answer. Just like calculus, literature, a sport, etc Art is a skill that you must learn by drawing everyday. But make sure to draw challenges yourself. Draw something you bad at somedays and other time draw what you absolutely love. Also make sure to study. draw from your imagination or copy from a reference or draw from real life sometimes. make sure to study seeing how you will represent a object. Than see hlw other people did it.You need to train to see the world as artist and not as a non artist. You might have to look that point up for it to make sense. you might like a math class go read a textbook about art and do homework/practice what it says. Like reading about composition or how to draw stairs than practice. Of course art can be abstract so you might not like that certain way the text told you to do. It okay to not added it to your skills set but just practicing it once can still help you learn. So summarize dont be afraid to try new things and keep drawing. If you don't feel like drawing go read a book about drawing or watch a youtube video. In end you must train your muscles and mind to draw. Keep learning and practicing.
But it's just so damn time consuming. I can barely get a comic book completed even WITHOUT detailed backgrounds.

Just finished drawing a huge background and a tiny foreground I have been working on it for 3 days it was a eagle eye kinda view of a city so you could imagine the details required.

I know growing up you were a fan of Tite Kubo and his series Bleach. Bleach had amazing backgrounds when the Manga first started, but sometime after Aizens defeat Kubo started drawing much more bleak and bland backgrounds, this along with the decrease in overall content, lead to the fall of the series.

I just wanted to say the leaf village wasn't remade in a day. They were living in tents for a while. And the destruction of the village brought danzo out of the shadow and started the whole political war between who's gonna be hokage. Also it wasn't supposed to seem as bad because Naruto saved the day and there was no casualties in the end. Good video though Whyte👌

fat oof I'm learning this the hard way right now. im such a lazy bastard I never practice unless its fun for me. I started drawing a comic recently and the backgrounds look like complete shit! I'm having to learn pretty quickly how to draw a lot of things. All you young artists, learn the stuff you dont want to draw RIGHT NOW your future self will thank you ;_;
What do you do when you have to draw the same thing but from a different perspective? Like EVERYTHING and what if you suck at perspective and stuff its just haaaaard .
