I just love how Puddles maintains his sad clown persona with the deer-in-the-headlights look, while Haley has this vivacious, unafraid and unabashed personality. I've always viewed her character as his inner voice, saying what he's unable to, like we're reading his mind as she's singing. A tiny, hidden voice, signified by her sudden appearance from behind him, and the extreme difference in their heights. Such brilliant staging and performance!
Meeting Puddles in person is quite a trip. He *can* be sad, but it's actually rare to see him fully sad. He's very much a comedic theatre clown who expresses emotions freely.
I just saw Puddles two weeks ago, and it's honestly one of the most amazing and fun shows I've ever been to. I loved it so much, I'm going to see him again next month. It's a comedy show, and he gives everyone a chance to have a personal moment with him. Literally. He stands in the lobby after the show for a free meet and greet, or even hugs. I know plenty of people who are afraid of clowns, but Puddles is the exception. I actually don't know anyone who is actually afraid of Puddles.
Love him. Saw him many years ago in San Francisco at one of the big downtown hotels w/ an active happy hour. I had NO idea what I was getting into. A friend simply called and asked if I could meet for a couple of drinks...I wasn't used to paying a cover charge to buy cocktails after work, but....hey. Somewhere half way through my first drink Puddles walked quietly through the crowd, carrying a small suitcase, and made his way up on the stage....what an evening that was! Alternating between laughter and awe at his voice/vocal control.
thoughts in passing: pathos meets perky, yet it works A peek-a-boo theme here, the drummer and Haley hiding behind Mr. Party.🥳🤡 2 superb singers doing a song that revels in creativity .. top-tier performance Haley's family is a band so she spent a lifetime in music. thanks
I absolutely LOVE Puddles!! We have seen him live twice in Knoxville. His show is AMAZING!! I highly recommend Puddles cover of Chandelier and Royals both with PMJ. Great reaction!! Thank you so much!! All the best from East Tennessee!!
My favorite Haley / PMJ song is Seven Nation Army then All About That Bass with Casey Abrams, Haley, Morgan James and Ariana Savalas. If you want to keep going down that rabbit hole check out their cover of Dream On feat. Morgan James. There are many others as well.
nice reaction larry. haley reinhart is one of the most "authentic" singers and performers today. everything that you noticed about her is spot on. she is the "real deal". not only does she amazingly sing these lyrics with superb skill and unique vocal talent, but perfectly embodies the vintage time period that pmj re-imagines. haley grew up in family of musicians that have their own band that targets the 1960-70 era but also deeply appreciate the roots of music throughout generations and time periods and you can "feel it" in her being everytime she sings.. haley also claims she is an "old soul" and that maybe part of it... and it's not just marilyn monroe, she taps into all types of singers including etta james, janis joplin, ella fitzgerald, stevie nicks, mariah carey, norah jones and even provides strange character splashes of minnie mouse, betty boop and yes, jessica rabbit that create this unbelievable combination of jazz, rock&roll and soul that is so unique... highly recommend her "seven nations army" collab w/ pmj and if you want a more recent solo "live" performance, her cover of "i put a spell of you" on her personal YT site from last fall is amazing. enjoy! 😎
Haley is probably the most versatile jazz interpreter today. She definitely belongs in the same category as the best from the jazz era. Seven Nation Army shows even more of Haley’s jazzy side.
We need more of your perspective! I love Haley too. Watched her American Idol audition, and followed the season. To your point of "how does a young artist" interpret older singing genre? She met on that season Casey Abraham, see his "Georgia "performance in that season. Anyway Casey, in my opinion, is the old school infusion for Haley's growth. While they both have musical performance family roots, Casey's is the interpretive Jazz line, via his mother seems to me, the origin I get this from what passes as "liner notes" in the American Idol vignettes. See their AI performance into "I feel the earth Move" for the connection I mention. They have performed and stayed close throughout the years, even do PMJ "All about that Bass", and he does other PMJ, "Crazy" with Hanna Gill (very underrated )comes to mind. Back to your perspective, I just watched your "Creep" reaction and subscribed, ((I placed your "reaction" among the best interpretations of Haley's voice, (on a cold read ) other tops: Fairy Voice mother, Charismatic Voice, and Julia Nilon.)) Like so many you have, to me a palpable naivete intro that is endearing, since I already know what your about to experience; and you don't dissapoint, so genuine!! I call this "face melt" when the mind realizes what the performer just did and begins to translate feeling in real time, no one has done this yet, all break, no matter their background or training-- it's a feature of all reactions to Haley's Creep performance. A comparative face melt is Maggie Renee' reaction, (Maggies "all about that base and Dream on" truly special reactions). As with all reactions, I rewatch many times, and circle back every few months to pick up new additions, that's How I found you. Some offbeat Haley performance, not reaction worthy, but rewarding. "Moanin" Casey and Haley first Jazz duet, on AI, Casey and Haley "Time of the Season" Idyllwild Arts Fest, and also AI "Blue" performance, Steve Tyler comments, first to "see" her potential. Again thank you, will try to learn more of your background music, because truly of voice of reason, and made "Mad World" a palpable experience for me, as I had see it reviewed by another, your just sold me! reaction for you maybe PMJ featuring Jennie Lena "Crazy Train" or Jimmy Barnes "Stone Cold"
Had a bunch of YT notifications. Blew right past 'em when I saw this one!!! Love, love, love Haley! p.s. I forgive you for spelling her first name wrong in the title . . . this time! LOL
Ohh man, I feel sorry for him. You don't even imagine how hard it is to find clothes and especially shoes for someone this tall... I'm 6'7 myself, wearing 15.5 shoes, lol 😅 I freaking hate when I have to go shopping... Loved the song, the reaction as well of course but I must ask you something. Where are treats videos?! 😀
@@patriciajohnson9654 Thanks so much!! Knowing I got you behind my back means a world to me. I'm so blessed I met you guys ❤️ I wish I stopped growing earlier too. It's cool to be tall, until your spine decide it had enough, you're forced to spend 11 months lying in bed addicted to the strongest pain killers, without being able to even get up to go to toilet, to finally hear from your doctor that you'll probably end up on a wheelchair at the age of 17... He gave me 10% chances to be able to walk ever again. And I'm so glad that the doctor was umm... let's say... pretty unkind, because that motivated me to prove him wrong... and of course, I did 😅

could see her sitting on his shoulder, whispering in his ear LOL
It's almost amazing they're the same species with their difference in size.

a nice example of bi-polar ....depression and manic
Haley is a human version of Betty Boop. She’s a marvel of both talent and beauty.

John Farnham... Help , with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Oldy but a goody. Get on it.
I agree, the SLAYER is the ONLY choice for the next BOND film, PERIOD!
You are so much fun to watch
Such a kind human
Thanks so much! I'm betting you're pretty kind!
Check Haley out with Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra.

you have too hear a song from sivert høyem (the prisoner of the road-norwegian refugee council). a powerful voice!

Hi Cutie
Wow that was amazing!
I hope all is well with you and the family 💛🦋
I didn't realize Puddles was that tall and I saw him live on Fry St. in Texas...was in my insobriety years, so probably forgot
this was the 90s so earlier in his career
Lol. At that time, he wasn't Puddles. Big Mike with the Useless Playboys.
@@Kay_The_Coffee_Weirdo my memory is fickle from those years...
Do PMJ "Smoth Criminal" please.

Hi Larry, enjoyed your reaction. Haley and P MJ did a cover of No Doubt’s ,Don’t Speak. She is like a real life Jessica rabbit

For me... Marilyn Monroe as with that 'cutsy' voice
I think Haley is more Betty Boop boop a doo.
Haley, PMJ
..Dont Speak
NOT the best of PMJ
Not the best of Puddles or Haley either. I loved the duet here, but they both do better songs for PMJ
