Most perfectly proportioned hammered roof I've ever seen on a four door Merc. This person who did this was more than a wonderful craftsman, he was also an Artist.
This has to be the nicest chopped 49-51 Merc I've seen. You really did a nice job. The proportions are beautiful and the metal work is terrific. Keep up the good work!
Reminds me of when I was a kid thumbing through 1950's custom car magazines. From the color to the interior, to the craftsmanship, everything about this says old school build. Absolutely gorgous.
This is just one stunning chop and build!!! Hats off to the metal fabricators who worked on this build, truly talented person/people!!! I will be looking for more videos from this channel. Fabulous workmanship here!
I'm researching chopping tops for my first custom project and trying to figure how I want my wifes car to look. Theres so many different looks depending on how much you chopping from front to back off. Amazing work in this video
My thoughts....PRICELESS 🤩❤️..!!! Beautiful build awesome work real eye 👁 candy would love to own and drive this hand made American work of art 🖼 great job thanks..!!!
Really Nice job on the old Merc. Although I did not chop mine It has some similar treatments to the 49 I had back in 1963, especially the front fenders. You can see a bit of it in the my thumbnail.
I would have used a donor and took the back glass sheet metal and all one piece to tie into the front half roof.. if I had a donor car, always try that if they are avalable and not too costly! These guys do good work.. I love this chit ! ART on wheels !
I hate four doors but this one looks real Groovy ! Damn that is a lot out work. My friend has a four door 1957 Chevy that he turned into a two door. I have seen a 1955 Chevy four door turned into a two door. I never thought that this could be done or that it would turn out this cool. "CHOPPIN AINT EASY ,IT'S NECCESARY !"
Pretty cool and clever. One day an original unchopped old American car will turn up at a car meeting and everybody will go "Wow that is unique!" Will there then be a roof raising movement? 😁
incredible job. I would have to warm up with an Egyptian pyramid first but I'm short the 100, 000 slaves so I'll just enjoy watching your fabrication talent
Where do these guys get the replacement glass tho? It's all flat glass? Been Studying on this for laminate glass, gonna grind some down. I'm told it's been done but might take several tries.
Beautiful 50's era look people don't get it those solid colors were what people would drive around in this way if it got scratched or God forbid wrecked it was easy to color match , It can use a few other little tricks but it is a good representation of a car of the period , Kandy paints are nice but it is a pain in the but to match slot of people I know wind up pinstriping over chips or having murals to cover where repairs were made it's cheaper than painting the whole car And Paint Jobs Aren't Cheap
Oh cool! A modern Twist on the barris hirohata Merc with a more-door. It's got the spot on 50s look that's for sure. Nice, I'd drive the tires right off of it. I wonder what the drivetrain is??
Dam nice job,,,I build and restore classic cars,,have a street rod I built from scratch all aluminum body have 9 trophies from car shows with it,,,have 8 classic cars waiting to restore,,,just finished a 45 dodge pickup and starting a 72 chevelle,,,so I know what you went through. Like me it's a good thing you can do it all.
Very nice job. At least it's got paint, not like some of the rusty rat-rods. Why the heck they go to so much effort building a car then letting it rot away sure beats me. Kids, eh!
Good job but the videos are mixed up,I once stretched a Cadillac 48 inches with all the imenities of other limousine,it was quite a job, started a limousine business.the only thing i had done was the extra back seat upholstered
To anyone who thumbed down: do a parts search for the little bells and whistles for a better appreciation. Like that dash assembly or even the smallest chrome bezel. . . . I'll wait!
AMAZING METAL WORK I'm not yet your caliber. Through trail and ERROR and enrolling in CNC Machinist degree classes I hope I'm finally get there. Lots of times I find myself getting "burnt out/bored" with an extensive build and start rushing to finish and mess up. Also I may put in in the shop corner to sit a year. Any advise on handling this flaw of mine. Thanls and top notch metal fab. Also Ive got 20yrs experience on my own. Paint/body was taught by dad but metal fab and mod I'm self taught
Do something every day big or small even if it just sweeping the floor just to keep you motivated. Small jobs get done faster a lot of little jobs turns into a big job done
having this done would it up a cars value or lower its value, book wise. people like what they like i know. what kind of cost would it be to bring to primer
P.s. a good look at the dashboard will tell if it’s 49 or 50..and the skirts are from a 51 mercury well I saw the dash and it’s 1950.it could be. Early 1950 and some 49; parts were used.
I’m not so sure it’s. 1950 , if you look at the rear window it’s three piece window ,I had three 1950s and am pretty familiar, still a beautiful car and my all time favorite.

This is just one stunning chop and build!!! Hats off to the metal fabricators who worked on this build, truly talented person/people!!! I will be looking for more videos from this channel. Fabulous workmanship here!
The metal wizardry never fails to amaze me.....I'm sucker for traditional hotrods and kustoms....I want it! 😉😄😂👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻😍
What a great job, we need more people like you guys that have the skills and experience to do this kind of work. Not just a skill but an art as well.
One of my favorite custom cars!! After this, a two door is allmost boring. I just love it. The grill and rear bumper is a piece of art by it selfe.
The Hirohata Merc as a 4-Door! Utterly cool, thank you.
Thinking out of the box!!! That s what it s all about, not just another cookie cutter chop. Well done!!!
What a beautiful restoration to a car that will last for many years!! The 49 and 50's Mercs are my favorite cars! Wish I could afford one!!
O
Damn! Space!
And it seems to me that it was
cooler in black👍
I like the skirts, the suicide doors and everything else. If I had the money this car would be in my collection.
Loved seeing it go from a beat up bundle of rust to a thing of beauty!
that is the exact opposite of what my wife has done
I'm researching chopping tops for my first custom project and trying to figure how I want my wifes car to look. Theres so many different looks depending on how much you chopping from front to back off. Amazing work in this video

my graduation present in 1960 was a four door 49 merc god I loved that car .
Really Nice job on the old Merc. Although I did not chop mine It has some similar treatments to the 49 I had back in 1963, especially the front fenders. You can see a bit of it in the my thumbnail.
Beautiful workmanship - beautiful result !

One day an original unchopped old American car will turn up at a car meeting and everybody will go "Wow that is unique!"

Great job 👏🏻
incredible job. I would have to warm up with an Egyptian pyramid first but I'm short the 100, 000 slaves so I'll just enjoy watching your fabrication talent
How many shops would dare take on a 4dr chop? Kudos to all the teks involved, especially the metal master, great result!

I think if the color was candy I would be way better same color just a little darker mix .... But great job on all that work.....
Its a shame its Not a 2 door But does look Great with suicide Doors, great chop, I think a Merc is a Great looking car

perfect restoration of a classic car. It looks great with that green malibu and the details
That's not a restoration, it's a re-creation.
Looks like Voodoo Larry’s Voodoo Hawaiian Mercury.
Oh cool! A modern Twist on the barris hirohata Merc with a more-door. It's got the spot on 50s look that's for sure. Nice, I'd drive the tires right off of it. I wonder what the drivetrain is??

Such a beauty, so hard to get the lines right on a 4dr Merc, and that car is so right.
Phenomenal work!
Classicos nunca devem ser violados na originalidade..
Cortar colunas p capota ficar baixa..
Acabou cm encanto.
Un trabajo majestuoso!!

GREAT CAR AND PROFISIONAL WORK ;-)
awesome roof to make a panoramic glass roof/rear windshield
How much does this coat & how long does this usually take?
Why does it have a 49 rear window?
Back seat like a living room
What product do u use to make it shine. Polish flawless love the show
But only the rich could afford a ride like that , awesome though
Cosa dire ,meravigliosa.
