I quit my Cosplay/Craft channel because I just wasn't good enough at it and instead leaned into my passion and my career, cooking. Haven't looked back.
The timing of this video is amazing. I'm sending it to my husband who is feeling very defeated about our stocks. He just needs to whether the dip. Thanks Sean
Absolute GOLD, Sean - thank you. Your Christian values shine through in everything you present....so very needed in this world of ethical compromises. Thou rocketh!
HINT: When you start rehashing videos on same topic again and again and again while milking different keyword variations for gaming the SEO. YEAH, LOOK AT YOUR CHANNELS, SEAN.
I quite my RUclips channel (Ancient Insights) and started prioritizing this channel (Hisple Media) after watching a lot of your think media videos, it is the best decision I have ever made! Thank you
This episode was awesome! I often find myself comparing myself to other creators in my niche which ends up pissing me off. I need to focus more on the audience that I’m trying to reach instead of the competition. Thanks Sean!
I know the feeling! Use that energy to focus on improving one thing each video. Like you say, focus on the audience that you do have that look forward to your posts instead of the “wish” audience! Much love to you!
I feel like that every night and just need to focus on the people who enjoy my videos and make them better for them and not worry about other RUclipsrs
Hey Sean and Think Media team, just want to say a BIG THANK YOU, I've benefited much from all your videos ever since I started my channel a year ago - not just in terms of education, but especially so in terms of inspiration and encouragement. My journey's so far on RUclips has been a very tough and often discouraging one, but it is videos like this that keeps me going, reminding me to always go back to the reason why I started a RUclips channel in the first place for the motivation to press on. THANKS! Also, if you could, would really love to hear about the thinking behind the name change for this channel - from Think Marketing to Think Media Podcasts. Thank you once again, Greetings from Singapore. Blessings.
My channel is about careers: helping people get the job, love their work or advance their careers. I just ended my podcast last week (after 10 years and 300 episodes) in order to focus on my YT channel. This was a great and very timely episode, thank you so much! I look forward to the challenge and what more I might learn. Thanks for continuing to produce such helpful and amazing content. You are appreciated! :)
I'm vatigued today overwhelmed as I am six months in with only 28 subs - I needed this video word today. Will God ever financially bless the work off hands - I'll be 61 years old in 3 weeks & I'm broke.
Hello! Just wanted to stop by to encourage you not to give up. Like Sean said, it may require some rethinking on your part but by all means keep going.

this video is so helpful. I started a channel 2 months ago, and already started panicking because each video is only getting around 60 views. But, I guess it's not quite time to quit yet. time to grind. Also... I tell funny stories about my life as a diabetic.

This is hands down one of the best (for me) value packed vids (podcasts) you have done yet!! Today I will QUIT procrastinating and literally set up my RUclips CHANNEL, reach out to the graphics designer for my brand logo that's been in my head for months now!! Ordered 2 copies of book!! One for me and one for my son who inspired me on mother's day to focus on SUSTAINABILITY-- in life. God used this video to shine light on another facet of that diamond 💎 Sometimes less is more. I want to be doing RUclips long term and being able.to say NO to the non essentials is a great foundation for sustainability!! Thank you!! 😊Going to leave a review now!!❤
Thanks for the advice and tips. It's really hard to figure out to quit what we like. It's like either you stick to one niche and get bored (but there's possibility of growing), or just enjoy you channel and upload anything you love.
Absolutely brilliant video on when to quit and when to stick. I'm definitely in the dip and will study to see whether or not I quit, pivot or persevere! So, thank you for this great explanation of the DIP! God Bless, Tristar Diggin' Sam
Never quit. RUclips forever! 😁 P.S. if you are starting out on YT and not sure what to do, I've had good luck with a multi topic channel... make videos about whatever you like and when you get a bunch of videos uploaded you'll slowly but surely figure out what kind of videos you prefer to make as well as what topics you enjoy most. Then you can start a separate, new channel that is more focused. You may accidentally discover a good channel idea that otherwise never would have been found...
I think sometimes my goals can feel unattainable, but I’ve also done better than others in the 100ish days I’ve had a channel. I’m just ambitious but I let my ambitions take over and stress me out.
When Sean said he wanted to be the King David of Worship Leaders.....That took us out 😂😂😂 Great vid, Think Media is a gift that keeps on giving and we're here for it!
Always love listening to the inspiring words of Sean Cannell but this time, the lighting in this set was ON POINT! Also good thoughts. Especially for the craziness of 2021.
I sat down and thought really hard on how to rethink my channel. And I'm rethinking my cook and cleaning as a way to teach young people how to cook, menu plan and be a rock star future homemaker. Out with the old and on with the new. Thank you for all you guys do. It's very appreciated.
We do cooking videos too and I also have a cooking group on Facebook and our biggest video in 6 months was one I posted about how to use an instant pot brand coffee machine so I think the numbers tell me what works lol
I'm watching this podcast for the first time, and I'm wondering why I haven't seen it before 🤔 But again, I thank God it's now that I needed the message. Thank you Think Media. Be blessed 🙏🙏
It's interesting that you raise these issues Sean because I have a part of me saying I need to stick with the gaming channel I have but another part of me says I need to quit it and put my YouTubing energy towards something else. One thing I know I want to do is have another channel where I upload web-comics to RUclips regarding comic book ideas of mine. It's again interesting that you raise these issues because I have questioned myself about these things many times before in the past even long before you posted this video.
Mr. Sean and Ms. Heather you done it at right time todays your suggestion and Episode overwhelming 👊 Definetely I will make more Exclusive contents under progress editing lets explore the world😊
I gave up on 1 channel completely and two others to allow me to concentrate on just one. Slow progress I have to say but it is still progress. I am definitely in a marathon and not a sprint.
This was an encouraging yet honest episode! Loved every bit. And Sean wanting to become like King David🤣😂😭...that had me laughing! Thank you so much Think Media Team.
The was a fantastic episode even if you aren't into RUclips. I sent this to a friend of mine that is dealing with some work stuff and you have a great message in the episode!
Sean this is so true of my RUclips Kourtney,I was working 2 channels, stuck in the dip,,then about a year ago I quit the one with most views and subscribers, and focused on this channel.still in the dip but gone from 12 subscribers to over 800,and 100 plus thousand views..the dip has been good for me my production level is way better same for my comfort level.love what you guys are about,👍😀
I can definitely relate to what you’re saying. I’m getting more confident in my videos and less nervous the editing is a lot quicker and it feels like I’m being more direct and with a steady flow with my contacts and getting my message out there in a more clear message for the audience to understand. But at the same time it feels like my views have drastically decreased very confused?
Sean I am super excited to keep momentum and have dialed in value proposition, I need to stop all the superfluous marketing, too many projects, I want video and music.
It's a lot to think about. Our channel is for our podcast but besides posting the audio versions we do cooking/kitchenware, travel, mixology, gaming, and movie and collecting...so we have so many things going on...we set up playlists then watch the analytics and they usually show the things we aren't concentrating on the most as the best performing video content. Niche down is tough to do if its not always your main focus. In this instance do we create multiple channels or continue with playlists or try narrowing down to what has been performing the best? This video is exactly what I was thinking by asking myself what do I funnel down to for the best content vs what I enjoy and what is worth my time and effort. With only 61 subs I feel like right now is the time to experiment in finding our niche. Same goes for our podcast...we talk about such an array of topics it starts to show over time what content is most valuable to the listener.
Great video. The title kind of concerned me at first. Just because I'm just starting to gain some traction with my growth and I am fully invested to stay committed to my channel growth.
*I've been doing RUclips since 2006 uploaded my first video in 2009 and I could have quit ANYTIME before 2009 and just left it as is, BUT...I decided to NOT quit of course I just posted when I wanted to and then I Decided to start making content around 09 and then attended a convention I Heard about called Vidcon and went from 65Subs to over 746 subs and 300+ channel views. Sure It's taking me a long time BUT..I still haven't Quit and Now, I've surpassed the 4K views needed for Monetization and working on that 1K sub and I thank Think Media not ONLY for the Value in their Content BUT, ALSO for helping me Decide on my FIRST Camera and I won't Give up, the Best Quote I've EVER heard Was, "The Race is Long and in the End it's only with yourself" PERFECT Quote for creators because yes it takes time to build that channel and in the end you'll be the One to decide to quit or continue and I'm not Quitting, THANK YOU **#THINKMEDIA*
I’m on RUclips for 4 years with 240 videos and only 480 subs still getting barely any comments and views I love making videos and my passion art but I’m not getting anywhere affiliated marketing doesn’t work at this point because I don’t get enough views ;( !
I grinded to the point of monetization and product ambassador. I feel bad that I basically took most of this year off but I just needed a break. I surely don't want to quit youtube though, that much is clear. I have tons of video ideas, so I guess that means I shouldn't quit this channel.
We had so many crazy ideas about how it all works at one point we had 4 but wanted the views and subs on one main channel so went to playlists but now I'm considering going back to those channels to cut down on confusion when we upload...keep content seperate besides playlists...not sure which is better to do ...
Oh this is good. A little over half way and getting value! 7 away from 100 subscribers and so excited! Not sure right niche or right way i am going but i wont quit!
should I continue to use my 3 year old channel that I did not manage to work out because I don't have enough courage to upload my first video until I found your channel that gives me enough motivation to pursue my humble purpose & dreams or should I make another new channel?
Needing some guidance I’m getting 0 views consistently on RUclips shorts but I’m gunna keep posting. Just wanted to know if I’m doing something wrong. Thanks a ton and much appreciated
I like this "episode" (vid). Some words were well said! Quitting is a personal choice - sometimes "temporary", the other time - permanent. It's also depending on personal expectation I guess. It can be like "Spring's cleaning" - one gives up sth not necessarily mean one never liked it or not working... Maybe one just doesn't need it at that moment or permanently. But I agreed with Sean; yeah, quit rationally not emotionally, if any. :)
Good stuff was thinking about this. This week 1 solid episode and one where the Audio went out. Meh meh meh. Lol could you guys do a channel review. We are 8months deep and 70 subscribers s lol. Do you think my guests need to be youtubers?
Great video and very helpful! I am at the point where I am deciding this exact thing. Should I persevere? Or should I let it go. My channel is growing, and if I continue it is certainly likely to continue growing. However, the real question I think we all want to answer is this: What is the reasonable probability to produce income relative to the total time and energy I put into it, and how does this level of income from growing a RUclips channel compare to my other opportunities? For example, I am a nurse so can already earn at least $50 an hour with a nursing job. My husband is in real estate so I could help him and make at least $100 per hour or more and set up long-term passive rental income streams in a systematic way we already know how to do. I know that you also have to weigh the other benefits and things you get out of sharing your message with the world, but the bottom line is also very important. For those of us who want (or need) their channels to become an income-producing venture, or at very least cover all the costs involved, it seems like we ought to build a realistic / reasonably reliable pro-forma spreadsheet in order to make any empirical / numerical and comparative analysis to answer these questions. ***Do you or anyone reading this have a base-form spreadsheet to share that can help us build a real business plan to determine how much money we can actually and realistically make so we can consider this against other opportunities for remunerative exchange of our time and energies?*** I know that you need to build in multiple streams of income from, for example, affiliate sales, courses and other channels, etc. How can one best map that out to project when you will start to make a significant and meaningful or worthwhile income? I am almost to "monetization" on my channel with over 4k watch time hours and nearly 700 subs. However, at that point it looks like I will only get something like $30 per month and not much more for quite some time on my growth trajectory. So will it take 1 more year or 2 or 5 more years until this turns into something worthwhile from an income perspective, and outweighs the opportunity costs we are foregoing in the meantime? It seems like we need a pro-forma or similar tool to build a financial business model to have any real way to know whether to PERSEVERE or QUIT.

Thank you 😊
I like the "dip" concept!!
Ima keep going
Yeah, three years and past 150 videos, I'm not really making proress. It's time to quit. It's taking away time I could use to build a useful career.
I never wanna get to that point 😀
My slow ass internet still loading the video but I already know it was some kind of trick question

Interesting)
***Do you or anyone reading this have a base-form spreadsheet to share that can help us build a real business plan to determine how much money we can actually and realistically make so we can consider this against other opportunities for remunerative exchange of our time and energies?***
I know that you need to build in multiple streams of income from, for example, affiliate sales, courses and other channels, etc.
I'm laughing so hard about the linen efod.
