    I hate it when doctors say that "she's doing it for attention"
    I've been told that, I was vomiting and was having severe headaches non-stop
    And they tell me I'm doing it for ATTENTION ?!?
    It disgusts me
    Wouldn't you rather treat a patient with nothing wrong with him/her,
    Than leave another in pain and then tell her it's just for freakin attention?!
    Ugh

      Sounds like you have migraines. Have you ever gone to see a Neurologist? If you can't go, try to look up the foods that trigger migraines and cut them out of your diet. Maybe that is a start. My daughter gets headaches and then vomits from them. That started when she was 7 yrs old. at 9 yrs old it was happening every month. The Dr. referred us to a Neurologist who told us she has Migraines with aura. Gave us a list of foods to cut out and work back in slowly to find a trigger. Oranges and fake sugars are the main triggers for her.

    After hearing about this girl and slipping rib syndrome I broke down crying.. for years I've had the worst pain in my ribs and when I saw videos of her holding her rib I thought of myself because that all I ever did and it's gotten progressively worse through the years and now I'm to the point where breathing isn't a function it's a painful process that I have to force myself to do and I wake up at night in the worst pain now... I cry about it almost everyday being in this agonizing pain... my family thought it was because I was unfit and didn't exercise and my doctor told me it was Costochondritis.. however seeing this made me realize the truth and I'm so glad because now I'm trying to find a way to get better.. however the next step of getting better is a mystery to me and my family.. everyday I wish I was just a normal kid and I cry and cry wishing I wasn't in this horrible pain everyday.. it gets so bad that sometimes I get light headed and feel like fainting.. seeing her happy and seeing how she figured this out is amazing and I wish I can get the same help to make it through this.. I'm just so happy to have figured this out because not a lot of doctors know about this and I would have never found out about this if it weren't for this amazing girl.. it would've gotten worse and worse without this showing me what I have.. so thank you for this.. I will keep moving on and trying to be strong until I can breath easily and move without pain.. thank you

      Also gym class and exercising is not an option for me.. my ribs pop too and it brings me the worst pain..

    • @XxMrsMangaxX
      @XxMrsMangaxX 7 лет назад +5

      Also people have told me so many times that it's growing pains or just stupid things which made me think that it was all in my head and it wasn't there but the pain getting worse showed me that it's not.. I can't raise my arm up without hurting.. sometimes just walking or getting out of a chair hurts so much..

    Yeah that girl is lucky they must have money. I've been dealing with slipping rib for 2 years now. The doc told me my ribs are "perfectly normal," but she can see "there is a problem." She suggested I'd see a chiropractor. Yea ok... only if my insurance covered that. Oh well, I guess that means I should be functioning like a normal human being then. Except I can't walk for long, run, pick anything up that's heavy, lay on my stomach, and sides, workout, and many more I'm yet to discover I can't do. Just your typical normal living. I've been dealing with it for so long that I've become use to the pain.

      Ash c: I'm not so sure I tried doing research but be very descriptive with your doctor tell them which ribs are hurting and when they hurt and hopefully you get a diagnosis. :)

      Jung kute thank you! i have a condition that affects my ligaments so all of them are loose and lots of my joints are severely affected and pop and dislocate a lot, so it would actually make sense

    • @TrueDirectionerHLLNZ
      @TrueDirectionerHLLNZ 7 лет назад

      Ash c: I'm that way too. my sports injury doctor explained that since I'm double jointed that most of my ligaments and stuff are like rubber bands so my shoulders dislocate a lot and very easily and if physical therapy doesn't help then I'll have to go into surgery.

      TrueDirectionerHLLNZ i have the same problem, they believe it's ehlors-danlos syndrome but haven't confirmed it with a genetic test yet. the only option left for over half of my joints is surgery at this point. hopefully they'll figure out a better treatment option for people like us!

    Ok this made me cry but probably for a different reason. I’ve been dealing with this for over a decade. In fact when I was asked if it hurt when I breathed deeply I said no but then I took a deep breath and felt the sharp pain. I didn’t even realize I had gotten used to not breathing deep. I’ve had epidural blocks in my spine and trigger point injections and my gall bladder removed.
    They say surgery is a last resort. No one wants surgery if they don’t need it, but right now I just want this dadgum rib out of my body. I want to walk and sit and bend over and BREATHE without this awful pain.

    I was diagnosed with this, but didn't have surgery, I had many chiropractic treatments and it got better. It came back a couple years later, more chiro, got better again. I can't believe they moved right to surgery. It's a VERY VERY painful condition.

    I'm 25 years old and I have had this problem with my left rib for years and never knew what it was until now (I'm assuming it's this) I went to the doctor's when I was around 17 and he examined me and said there's not much we can do for ribs, the floating ribs aren't sitting right and basically told me I have to put up with it. It's got worse over the years and I always get this clicking and grinding feeling. If I expand my chest you can see my rib poking out, looks like a little lump. It's my party trick to push it from the back of my rib cage and it will poke through my stomach and it really grosses people out. Mine isnt that painful, it can be at times but it's mostly a huge discomfort and stops me from doing yoga and most exercise really. After seeing this I'm definitely going back to the doctor's asap to demand something is done.

    have this. I would actually call this an injury. For me it was an obvious injury, but it was not obvious what I had. I believe symptoms are different for everyone. Mine has progressively gotten worse. I have been misdiagnosed several times. I have been trying to figure out what is wrong with me for 9 years now. All I know is I was doing a twisting exercise, and since then it just feels like the left side of my body was dying. I was EXTREMELY active before hand running 4 miles a day, and lifting weights 5 times a week, plus boxing, soccer, and basketball. I was told varying things by doctors who had no clue. This is very misunderstood, and very elusive. If you have discover you ACTUALLY have this, and ACTUALLY have been diagnosed correctly, congratulations. I want to help people who have this because I know it has been extremely life altering for me, and feel great sympathy for those going through it, as it can be quite lonely. There is one test a physical therapist had me do as I started my journey on the right path (all thanks be to God). I stood sideways to a wall, and reached up and over towards the wall, stretching obliques and ribs. ( similar time a stretch you see the you lady in this video do when in pain) My side of injury was WAY MORE “flexible”. My other other side was SUPER TIGHT. Do this test and see if you find the same thing. If it does, there is hope. I want to give you all my knowledge I have gathered here but it is an overwhelming amount of information. I do want to inform you that out of desperation we try SEVERAL things. Some were antagonizing and harming my injury. Since I saught so many treatments and saw so many practitioners, we tried massage, stretching, surgery, considered drugs for pain. The stretch this young lady does is harmful. Think about it. If we stretch the side of pain where theoretically we have a rib slipping, we are putting it in a position where it is elongated. Those muscles that create stability there are already stretched enough. We want to strengthen those not stretch them. Another thing I want you to know is there does not have to be an obvious cause. This injury was not because I did that one movement only, and I doubt it was just one thing for you. That instability on that side was created by habits of positions I am comfortable in. You will need to become ultra aware of what your body is doing ALL DAY LONG. You will notice you aren’t able to sit or lay the same way you do on “the other side”. This actually isn’t easy to discover or notice and will come with time. You will need to learn your body. This should be done even if you already had surgery as I stated it was caused by body position habits and muscle imbalances you still have. The muscles I suspect are involved are the quadratus lumborum ( the ql muscle for short), erector spinae muscles, psoas, and obliques. It could be some, or all involved in your injury. I also have pelvic issues and I learned the the ql muscle attaches to the last rib and the pelvis. It is a great potential culprit for the lack of instability. I am right now working on learning if the uninsured side is over right in compensation for the years the injured side has not been working right. I have been stretching it, but it is for sure obvious the real application is strengthening the injured side to create stability so that I can heal. I would be cautious to just start stretching things and getting things to relax. I took this approach out of desperation and I know it was counterproductive. I hope this helps. I am willing to offer more help by email Tico clary @ gmail com last thing I will mention if you don’t reach out. I started a program called moveu. It was pricey, but I spent more on 2 sessions with one of the doctors what I paid for a lifelong membership. It is not a cure, it is a tool to learn assist in learning your body to aid in solving your injury yourself. I recommend it. I have been doing it daily as time allows and have learned quite a bit.

    I was diagnosed with this earlier this year due to one of my ribs on the right side always causing so much pain not only along the rib, but right next to where it attaches to the spine. Pain even gets so bad that it causes severe muscle spasms in the back muscles above it at times. Then had an x-ray done recently, and they found that instead of just one, I have two slipping ribs on that side. Trying to take deep breaths is very lovely indeed. I understand that pain, though mine are higher up. The treatment my family doc gave me? RICE method, stretches, and offered PT when I feel I need it. That's it. All of that helps, but never makes the underlying issue go away, which is constant. Makes me want to have a surgeon just remove that entire rib some days when the pain is at its worst. :/
