Not really. The AF-D 70-300mm requires the camera to have a built-in-motor. Manually it will work but with no auto focus. You will need the AF-S 70-300mm G not D.
Good question. Unfortunately no. the Auto focus won't work when using a D3300. You will need an AF-S lens... What timing tho... I just listed an AF-S but it will be gone in 2 days. Nikon 80-400mm AF-S it's a big one.
This Nikon Nikkor 70-300mm AF D is an older lens (for full frame Cameras) built for film cameras like the Nikon F90x, F100, F4s, F5 or F6 but it will also run beautifully on a Nikon D2X, D3, D3s, D4 & D5. The 70-300mm is lightweight with a metal bayonet and takes amazing pictures... Affordable as well... If you can find a nice one with a clean, clear glass, no fungus, no damage and very minimal dust. I will try to do another video sometime in April... Trying to get motivated :).
The Nikon D7100 is a great camera as is the Nikkor AF-D 70-300mm lens. So without me having a look, I cannot say with confidence. It could have a fault in the electronics or the glass cloudy or has been tampered with... If you are close by (cumbria) I would have a look or if you have a 2nd DSLR, any model... You could test it against each other to rule out the camera.
Honestly, I would not do that even if you could... Teleconverters are wonderful for your Large, Fast, Prime lenses like the; 200mm f2, 300mm f2.8, 500mm F4... etc. It would be best to invest in a prime lens if you really want to use a teleconverter. Note: If you have a good Nikon Nikkor 70-300mm AF-D lens with clean optics then you got yourself a great allrounder.
Come here and watch. When I find a great lens, I go nuts testing & evaluating, I don't video everything .. You'll just have to have a bit of faith or come'on down cause like a flat Earther can't be convinced the Earth is round without taking him to orbit, I can't satisfy everyone without showing them the work I do if they don't believe. :).
I like how the guy is having a casual talk. Great lens, cool guy.
Nice rundown and review. Learning a lot about Nikon equipment from your channel. 👏
Thank you :) ... I usually try to keep things simple but if there'a anything you like to know more about, just let me know. I'll do my best.
I like the way you roll! 😀
I have already one it's very sharp and colorful
❤💛💚💙💜
Great Review just picked up one of these off of ebay in mint condition for $90.
Is the d5300 compatible with the 70-300?
Not really. The AF-D 70-300mm requires the camera to have a built-in-motor. Manually it will work but with no auto focus. You will need the AF-S 70-300mm G not D.
@@nessetainment great knowledge thanks!

Hi mate, I have just recently purchased this lens for my Nikon D7100 and it is not performing as it should. ?

Will I be able to use this lens without autofocus on a Nikon D3100?
Yes. The camera (D3100) should be able to read the lens just not auto-focus.
does D3400 compatible w this lens?
No. The D3400 has no built-in-motor to drive the Auto focus but you can use it in Manual mode with no AF... Self focusing.
Can i use the teleconverter on that lens?

@@nessetainment THANK YOU
How is the lens on F Frame?
the Nikkor 70-300mm AF-D works on many DX SLR, Full Frame Digital SLR and 35mm F SLR. Perfect on Nikon F4s to Nikon D4s.
Does it work on a Nikon d3500
I am afraid not... The Nikon D3500 camera does not come with a built-in-motor to drive the gear inside the Nikkor AF-D lens.
Nice commentary without testing the lens😇😷
