From my observations on your video, you were not looking at the digital mirror during the backup. Be honest, you can't truthfully blame the digital mirrow for your accident. Admit you were not paying attention as you should have been but rather talking about your content.
Feeling betrayed 😂 The clickbait thumbnail grabbed my attention. Same with the intro, but then you don't show the damage on the car.. come on 😂 Also weird the parking sensors didn't alert you.. Well well
Well my dear friend... I was frightened to film the damage because of the consequences it might have had for the upcoming three weeks of other journalists at this press drive. At the time I was shocked and didn't even notice the parking sensors didn't sound. It was first after reviewing the footage later that day and remembering that these where pre-productions prototypes that had many bugs i realised that I wasn't at fault. We can talk about it more in the next podcast episode 🙂
Thanks for doing this video, we don't often see the lower trim cars at press launch, what's your impression on the ride comfort and handling of this trim? How was the Bio-attributed MicroTech material? Is it on the full seat or just the side? I like the look of the lighter Mist Tailored Knit seat, it looks blue or grey in some videos, would you consider this material more comfortable for use in hot climates? Please share your thoughts when you have a moment, thanks.
Hello Kris, Madrid is at 600-700 m, not sea level at all 😄 Also, in the charger you have to select first and then connect it (I have used it several times without problem). Cheers!
Also, what happened to the obstruction safety sensors that warn you of objects around the vehicle. I'm skeptical you actually hit anything especially since you never minded to show any damage. Hmmmm.
Fake. He didn’t hit anything. The P4 (if it’s like the P2) has a safety feature that will slam the brakes when backing up and it sense you are going too fast, and MIGHT hits something. I’ve had that happen to me 3 times. Saved my butt twice.

Doesn't the P4 not have ultra-sonic sensors to beep at you when you get to close to a immobile object like a pole for example? Not sure I'd call it a crash though more a bump. But as for the range test, 444km is what the Kona EV Premium on 19" gets for WLTP range and you got it real world on a P4 doing 120km well extrapolated it, will be interesting to see what you do get real world once you can test it properly.
I think 444 is pretty poor. I’ve driven 900km in my IX40 this week, mostly on 100-110-120km/h roads in an Norway and Sweden, it’s averaging 18.4kWh/100km, which translates to 400km a charge from a 76kwh battery.
The main screen reversing camera should have shown the pole. In both my cars the main screen reversing camera image is very clear, the pole would have been visible.
Those BP chargers are a headache. It runs off the screen below that lits when you touch it. It has long communication and shut down. On topic. I think it's a bit too expensive for a BYD clone 😉

Three things about your claim that you hit the pole: (1) You weren’t even looking in the rear view mirror. Look at where you are looking (in the video) as you backed up .; (2) The P2 has a safety system that automatically slams on the brakes when the car detects something, and you weren’t slowing down. First time it happened to me, and other P2 owners, yes, it feels like you hit something..it’s very abrupt, but it is doing it’s job by bringing you to an abrupt stop before you actually hit anything. That feature, in the P2 can be turned off. ; and (3) if you were close enough to hit something, the sensors would have been screaming at you. I heard nothing.
First off, I did the pole. There was big dent on the rear tailgate. Yes I was looking in the rear view screen and the screen. But because of the pole blended into to the background I was not able to see the pole due to the limited resolution of the camera and scree. This was a pre-production prototype with unfinished SW, so neither the auto brake or the parking sensors were working at the time.
