Yes I want the archive series rebooted but I will say these Japanese SHM cds sound superb and the packaging is great. Still hoping for an archive release of London Town and Back to the Egg!
Great channel - subscribed. I will admit to having a number of Japanese CDs- both Macca and the Beatles. I do really like Japanese vinyl though. I would really like Archive box set of London Town though. I have previous archive sets for Macca and Beatles (and othe Beatles refugees.😮
Bad news on my predictions. But this is the second wave of these. Slipping London Town helps my prediction. These so far have had an Archive or a Colored Vinyl reissue or both. So the next wave will be: McCartney II Tug of War Pipes of Peace Choba b CCCP Flowers In the Dirt Guessing there will be a fourth release a few months after that featuring: Paul Is Live Flaming Pie Chaos and Creation in the Backyard New Amoeba Gig Then we won’t see anymore as there’s no other Archives or colored vinyl reissues.

Unfortunately, I suspect you may be right! which, if your prediction ends up coming true, would totally ROT considering the WIDE SWATH of McCartney titles that are yet still to be reissued (besides the archives of London Town and Egg). In which case, please be sure to consult my standalone comment above for further detail. You'll totally understand where I'm coming from. Trust me.
I really don't understand these SMH releases. They'll be people that buy it though. I'm not worried about London town. I think it's awful (mostly). Back To The Egg however is one of his best albums!! I'd actually like a REMIX of that album, rather than just a remaster.
But you love Paul... but don't, but do.... 😂. I am not a massive fan of London Town or Back to the Egg, but would love to hear them remixed and given the deluxe treatment. What I really want is footage of 'Girlschool' as in was there ever a video made? Also footage of Wings recording in the Virgin Islands. Part of me thinks there is not much London Town footahe though... Back to the Egg would be great as we could have a live Wings 1979 Bluray/cd. But... I want Press to Play more than any of the others. In a nutshell.... I want to see and hear stuff I have not seen or heard before not just a release of cds like the 🇯🇵 ones 😂 👐
I haven't bought any of Paul's box sets, in fact the only Beatles remix set I bought was The White Album. I've bought them all in every medium throughout the decades, I'm done. "Venus and Mars" is my favorite of Paul's, "Wings at the Speed of Sound" is very good, "London Town" is even better and I think "Press to Play" is very underrated. "Back to the Egg" seems like a collection of leftover tracks, no stand-out songs. Rockestra was a dumb concept gathering a load of excellent musicians and have them all play at once, what a waste of talent. What I would buy as a box set is all of Paul's non-album tracks, all those b-sides, tribute tracks, soundtrack contributions and other orphaned songs. I've made 4 CDRs full of those.
Thanks for watching and commenting I have all the Beatles Boxsets on cd and find them amazing, with Paul's, I am missing McCartney, Venus and Mars and Speed of Sound, When I see them cheap (if ever) I will buy them as I want a complete collection. Press to Play is the Archive I want as I believe with the proper remix it will get the credit it deserves. Everytime I play Girlschool ( as I am doing right now), I simply cannot believe it was not filmed in some capacity, especially as it was deemed a double A side. To see an MPL video of this would truly blow me away 🙂👐
When the "first five albums" on Japanese SHM-CDs were announced, I paid attention to the fact that the mixes used for Archive Collection were used for all of them. Then I was sure that if there were going to be more albums in the series (i.e. "first five" was used not just to say "the first five albums in the Paul McCartney back catalogue" without any future obligations), the "next five" will be those that were actually released under Archive Collection label (or were in any form reworked recently). This easily explains Thrillington and Wings Greatest standing in the line, and why Back to the Egg and London Town are still (again) forgotten. Are there going to be "another five"? If yes, then that would be McCartney II, Tug of War, Press to Play, Flowers in the Dirt, and... Flaming Pie? Hm, who knows. There were three more re-releases: the Russian Album, Paul Is Live, and Amoeba Gig. We'll see, we'll see. P.S. I love the sarcasm you add to this video 👍

With my videos I try to add some humour whilst keeping to the point and will always say how I feel, and obviously so many of us have different views on releases. I will probably become a hypocrite and buy the Japanese ones, if they have way superior sound and, when they are heavily reduced in price. 🙂🇯🇵👐
With the exception of "Tug Of War", which DID receive a fresh remix in 2015, 99% of all other archive releases used the ORIGINAL mixes. Unless you mean to refer to the Archive REMASTERING.
I'm going to hedge my bets on this pending announcement concerning something NOT needed or asked for. Thus, besides the BADLY-NEEDED archive reissues of "London Town" and "Back To The Egg", let us also consider the wealth of other McCartney material that, by now, could use even a bare-bones standalone reissue (like what they did in 2018 with "Chaos and Creation", "Thrillington", "The Russian Album", "Paul Is Live" and "Amoeba Gig"): "Driving Rain", "Give My Regards To Broad Street" (preferably a 2xLP to include ALL of the film music, as the original vinyl was severely edited down), "Press To Play", "Memory Almost Full", "Off The Ground", "Unplugged: The Official Bootleg". From there, we have his various one-offs and collabos, such as "Liverpool Sound Collage", "Twin Freaks", the three Fireman albums. Let's also not forget his classical output from 1991-2011: "Liverpool Oratorio", "Working Classical", "Standing Stone", "Ecce Cor Meum", "Ocean's Kingdom", and so forth. But sadly, I expect all we're possibly getting in December are nothing more than double and triple dips of the same albums that have been reissued over and over for the past 6-7 years. Ugh!
Sorry Dino, you're stuck with this subscriber. I will go for the Wings Over America CD, but not the rest. I have a copy of this superb live album on CD but it does need an upgrade. I think we'll probably get a new McCartney album sometime in '25, my guess being spring
@dinovesh nope. I feel McCartney's management team/record company is just milking it now. They know there's a new generation of fans and they'll put their hands in their pockets and spend the money. As a Beatles fan from before they hit the big time, I love how they are still at the top of the tree, but in the current climate, there's more important things to buy. Yet, some will leave themselves skint so they can buy these.

Yes, Dino and Matthew Street both inject their comedy acts into their videos. That style of presentation is not my cup of tea either. I watch these videos to learn, to be educated about the subject of The Beatles as a group and as solo artists. The comedy routines don’t really make sense to me. Perhaps both of these broadcasters are basically frustrated comedians who use their videos as an outlet to showcase themselves. Themselves. Misdirected focus. I wash they would stay on point and leave the comedy with those who are professionals.
