This version of Kurt was great, but I personally thought the image inducer was a cop-out to Kurt’s inner struggle with self-acceptance of what he was, leading him to finding peace through God and allowing him to show the world to never judge a book by its cover, making him the greatest mutant role model that he was in other incarnations. That’s just my opinion.
To be fair most of the story takes place before the world found out about mutants and having most ep in a school or public places they needed a way hide what he looks like. They did some plots about his self-acceptance like when the world found out about mutants he still wanted to use his image inducer to pretend to be human. Or my favorite when he found out magneto did experiments on him as a baby and goes to finds his birth mother. But I do totally agree with you especially as a christan and a black guy I related alot to his struggles and wished it got more focus. Maybe if the show had got another season they could have more time exploring it but unforunitly it didn't.
I don't think I've ever hated any version of Nightcrawler. Sure, I like some versions more, but I don't hate any version. With other characters I'll like them in one version but find them annoying and/or useless in another. But Nightcrawler and Storm are consistently good.
If I made the X-men part of the MCU I would have given both him and Mystique an arc, Nightcrawler’s arcs being truly accepting himself and accepting Mystique as his mother. Mystique’s arc would be about her son (Nightcrawler) and kinda growing more hesitant after finding out that he is her kid, And that we would see an much more empathetic, kinder side of her since we would see her usual personality.

Tbh I grew up liking this Kurt better. I never really liked his regular design within the original and comics. Could just be bias butbim sure others agree

Nightcrawler has always been a favorite character of mine, but oh my gosh he is so adorable in this series! Poor guy is a Christian and he get's mistreated because he looks demonic! Yet he is still so positive and fun-loving! Nightcrawler is an inspiration!

It’s been confirmed that they’re holding off on magneto in the mcu because of the whole magneto, scarlet witch, quicksilver and Polaris family thing, maybe instead of magneto the big bad leader of the brotherhood could be Emma frost, Selene or mojo

He did wear the image inducer for a time in the comics too. The point of it is for him to abandon it eventually, thus showing character development.
