Thank you. Great video, Ram. Just a quick question. Can I invert the dependant variable and the factor variable in PSPP and run the ANOVA test? My research questionaire is exactly opposite of the example: in my model one categorical variable functions as dependent and a host of different continuos variables are independent.

Thank you Eduardo. That's an interesting question. In one way analysis of variance, the dependent variable needs to be in the continuous form as the the results of the test are interpreted using the mean scores. In your case, the best option would be to either transform the continuous variables into categorical variables and perform a chi square test or, you could opt for regression using dummy variables. All the best!

Excellent Ram, how can we do repeated measures ANOVA in PSPP?

Hi. As far as I know, there are no options availabe for performing ANOVA with repeated measures in PSPP. However, a simple soultion to this would be to perform ANOVA/ t test one by one. For example. Let's assume that we are interested in examining the covid 19 positivity rate in 50 countries 1- Before masking was made mandatory, 2. After masking was made mandatory and 3. After vaccination of more than 70 per cent of the population.
In a repeated measures ANOVA, we would know whether there was a statistically significant difference between 1 and 2, 2 and 3, and then 1 and 3.
However, since we do not have that option, we need to do a t test between 1 and 2 first to see if there is any statistically singificant difference. The repeat it with 2 and 3 and then finally with 1 and 3.
      Hope that's useful!
