Gary, that's a pretty neat system with multiple stages. Mine has only the UV canister. While changing the lamp a few weeks ago, a plumber did check it for sediment and dumped out a fair amount. But I think that was the first time in several years that anyone did that. I also have a water softener, and an acid neutralizer that's about five feet tall. A different plumber installed them years ago when I complained about all the sediment I was getting. I don't know why I wasn't given a _sediment filter,_ but I have to admit, the sediment is greatly reduced compared to what it was originally, so I guess the water softener and/or the acid neutralizer are removing a good bit of sediment, too. 🤔Is that plausible?

Yes, but yoyu really should have a sediment prefilter before the UV. We have them here waterestore.ca/products/hum-cottage-pre-filter-kit-10-bb-5005-micron

@@GarytheWaterGuy Thanks... and in that case, why would my plumber (the one who installed the UV canister OR the recent guy) not have told me that? I'm kinda frustrated by some of the bad advice I've gotten -- and the advice I _didn't_ get. The installer in fact did something so bad that even this layperson sensed it was wrong. He had the well supply line going directly into the UV lamp, upstream from ALL the other equipment I mentioned! I objected when I saw what he was doing, quickly researched it online and confirmed my viewpoint while he called his boss, who (supposedly) said it could be done either way. 🤯 That may have been the last straw; I haven't used them for years. Imagine the sediment I would have had if he did it _his_ way!
By the way, I clicked that link and saw the product for several seconds, but then it went to another page that just said: "404 / page not found." The first time, a USA/Canada selector popped up and I chose USA. Then after getting the error message I tried again and I ended up in the same place after briefly seeing the product.
I'm curious whether my plumber would be willing to install it, but I'm certainly willing to ask.
