i want true chaos. i want overtime in game 7. next goal wins the cup
Add chaos by making the Cup-winning goal a controversial one😂
Please no
Henrique, in 2OT, 12 years later to eliminate the Panthers yet again.
@CastleBrookKrew Yeah, and, no, natural disasters, and/or, political assassinations, before Monday, the, NHL, has no raindate, if anything goes wrong, the, Cup, won't be awarded, and, the, NHL, is responsible because, they stalled out the, Final, beyond any reasonable length, period.
Tbh I feel like we are destined for this.

Crazy how rare a game 7 Stanley cup finals game is. Only 1 in the last decade
But a few times in previous decade so it happens.
@@jonfreeman9682 but then disappeared for years between the last two
Before the Flyers-Oilers seven game series, they went about 15 years with no seven game final. I believe the last before that was the Chicago-Montreal series in 70 or 71. I went practically my whole childhood and teenage hockey watching years without ever seeing a seven game final.
Best ticket in sports. Best game you can name. 🏒
shows you how uncompetitive some finals have been compared to othersports
Vegas did not win 4 in a row, they won twice in a row two times to win the scf against the florida panthers
First goal is critical Monday. Only 1987 Flyers lost after scoring first.
Mike Kennan...
Wow! Also, Game 7's in the Finals seem to always be low scoring or not very close or both. You never see 5-5 and going to OT
@@judcitizen706
Edmonton scores first, I expect another 5-1 victory.
Florida does, I expect them to lose, anyway. I’d be shocked if they win by 2 or more.
The Panthers need a power play goal for the love of elevation.
The 1987 Philadelphia Flyers are the only team to score first and lose.... Look who they lost to.. Florida Panthers should be actually pooping themselves rate now
I got two hockey guy videos going off on different devices. Stereo Shannon !
fun fact : last time the NHL had a hockey game on june 24 was in 2021 and the habs won it to go on to the finals.
june 24th being quebec day, i really hope the oil brings back the cup! there will be celebrations in the quebec province if they do or if they don't but it will be better if they do
The Canucks are twice on this board, yaaaaaaay…
Yeah, Vancouver obviously sucks in Game 7. They lost to the Oilers this year in 7.
@@mynameismud-qd9vu And Vegas in 2020
@@mynameismud-qd9vu The Canucks are 6-7 time in Game 7s, it isn't great but not nearly as bad as some other or coaches (sorry Bruce Boudreau, but you are the first one I thought of when it comes to Game 7 records). They did however, lost all 3 of their most recent Game 7s (2011, 2020 and 2024).
Here is what I find interesting. They have never won a Game 7 outside of the first round. They are 0-3 in Game 7s in the second round (2003, 2020 and 2024), 0-2 in Game 7s in the Finals (1994 and 2011), but they are 6-2 in first round Game 7s (both losses to Calgary: 1989 & 2004).
They have never lost a Conference Finals. Every time they made it past the 2nd round, they get to the Finals. In their 3 Conferene Finals, they have never played a Game 7. In fact, all 3 Conference Finals, they beat their opponent relatively quickly in 5 games.
Lol... Luke Gazdic with the original post.
Imagine complaining your team made the playoffs
The 2001 run was the most fun of the three cups I’ve experienced as an Avs fan. Bourque, Blake, not having Forsberg, it had so much packed into that second season. The party that night too, that was legendary.
Most importantly, Scott Stevens got the smirk wiped completely off of his face, people went from, "I, really, truly, don't want him to win," to, "him losing is the only just outcome."
@@matthewdaley746 dude, I was in the Pepsi Center 10th row Game 1 when I saw Sakic absolutely school Stevens and burned him for a goal from the slot. Incredible play. Super Joe was one of a kind.
@rawnchydeard4669 He's certainly irreplaceable, unquestionably.
No coming back from this if the Panthers lose. With this squad, they could get back there next season, and mentally collapse again and again!
Bob is getting to old for that to happen. Possibly to old now
Leafs fan from Toronto, favorite game 7, was Pittsburgh over Detroit, recalling Detroit fans singing livin' on a prayer at end of game two being "half way there" and Pittsburgh then winning 4 out of next five was absolutely thrilling. This year's final, feels like Florida's mistake was thinking the series was over and in the bag after game 3, mgmt. Discussing on secretly flying family into Edmonton for game 4. Just felt like they had assumed their fate as winners before winning anything. Now doubt along with fearing of losing in epic fashion is plaguing the team
That flying in the families BS was fatal. Hopefully we never see a team do that again.
I remember the 1987 finals and it's one of the biggest heartbreaks of my sports fandom. The Oilers up 3-1, going back to Edmonton for game 5 the newspapers published parade routes for the next day and for a while it looked like the series was over as the Oilers had a 2-0 then 3-1 lead but the Flyers battled back to win 4-3. Game 6 back at the Spectrum is probably the greatest hockey game I ever saw. The Oilers up 2-1 with about 7 minutes left when Brian Propp tied it up then a minute and a half later, a shot on Fuhr deflected all the way back to the blue line when JJ Daigneault hit a slap shot past Fuhr for a 3-2 lead. I swear I heard the pop from my house in South Jersey when that goal went in. Then game 7 which was a day before my 22 birthday I thought it was destiny(the Sixers on their last title on this exact same date in 1983). Flyers take a 1-0 lead but Messier tied it. Then the Oilers score in the 2nd and with both teams battling, Glen Anderson slid one under Hextall and the look of dejection on him broke my heart. We've been back to the finals twice since then but both were anti climactic by comparison(4-0 loss to the Redwings and 4-2 loss to Chicago). My heart still aches over this series.
I think Murray Craven came very close to making it 2-0 which really could have made for a different outcome.
Not a good idea to be a Philly sports fan.
1 title is earned by 50 years of heartbreak , disappointment and lost Finals.
If it weren't for the Blackhawks & Bulls , i would say the same thing about Chicago.
Panthers have been looking deflated the last 3 games. Oilers are going to win the cup unless a miracle happens for Florida.
That being said, what are your thoughts on Florida as a franchise if they lose game 7? What steps should they take to save the franchise?
It looks like the Panthers hit a wall
I'm understanding why Paul Maurice walked away from Winnipeg. The team was always deflated and now when I matters most losing 3 games in a row shows it was always him that was the problem in Winnipeg after all
@@rozzie101 panthers dont even look the same like they did unless they turn it around somehow
Save the Franchise? Buddy they are in game seven of the finals, they don’t need saving.
@@ukrainian.g.o.a.t.566 To be fair no coach seems to be able to win in Winnipeg
Connor mcdavid should get the conn smythe regardless of who wins Monday. He’s having a generational playoff run that is only matched by Lemieux and Gretzky
Yeah even with him being a bit dull last game he is still the current GOAT.
We need a dark horse Conn Smythe candidate; Bouchard would be my pick, 32 pts for a D-man and plus-14?
Yeah, I think THG is off base with his predictions on this... odds seem to favor McDavid heavily win or lose.
But it usually goes to the winning team. Don't think they've ever given it losing team.
@@jonfreeman9682 you didn't watch the video did you.

Definately my favorite game 7 was 2001. Seeing Raymond Bourque lift the Cup still gives me chills!
The last 7 teams to win a Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Final had won a Game 7 that year in an earlier round.
9:09 "There is no clear cut favourite" except betting sites have McDavid at -3500. So if you bet $3500 now for McDavid if he wins you get $100. That is extremely heavy favourite.
As a Ranger fan, I always give credit to Trevor Linden scoring 2 goals in that game 7 - that is a clutch big time performance. Thankfully the Rangers did get the win.
It was the New York Oilers that beat the Canucks once again😮
Roy vs Brodeur was epic. I remember it fondly, as I quit watching hockey when the Nords were moved, if anyone knows how the Habs vs Nords fans rivalry was, it was to the point where it could start fights between uncles at christmas parties after having too much to drink, I never saw the Toronto/Ottawa Ontario rivalry as intense, only maybe Alberta has something still as similar as that. So my team was the Avs but there was no way for me to watch the games other than what TNS/RDS would decide to showcase when the Habs were eliminated, I didn't watch the Habs, ever, plus, soon after the Nords left, the Habs probably had their worst/darkest era, the late 90's, they were still okay for a while after losing Roy to 2 players I liked very much when they were Nords, but the Avs in their first year were aggressive in their trading, having lost Steve Duchesne, they needed an offensive D, and what a player they got in exchange of Nolan just 9-10 games in the 95-96 season, then they sent Kovalenko, Rucinsky and Thibault for Roy and oh boy, there were already rumors Roy wanted to be with the Nordiques since he's from Quebec City, but the humiliation only happened in the 95-96 season in that ridiculous game against Detroit where Roy demanded a trade live.
Roy retired soon after that 2001 cup, kind of early, but he sure taught the next great goalie, the guy who would go on to break a lot of Roy's records in fact, it helps he played until 42 or so, but, credit where credit is due, it was an amazingly TIGHT stanley cup final, a lot like we're seeing now, and Roy, a bit like Skinner, was known to give the out of nowhere bad goal too, despite being amazing otherwise, he's no Patrick Roy but when he's in his zone, he's as good as Bobrovsky, who also was known to give weak goals out of nowhere when younger, especially with Philly. I'm biting my nails to the bone for the Oilers to do the unthinkable, even my dad will stop by our house and watch it, he wasn't even alive the only time it happened so he wants to see this with the whole family.
It was only tight because Peter Forsberg went down, if he were playing, it's over in, Six Games, no doubt.
@@matthewdaley746 Yeah, could be, but NJ's defense was so good and hard to pierce, especially in that dead puck era where hooking, holding, slashing even checking from behind was never called, it would maybe have ended before game 7 but the rules helped NJ a lot nonetheless.
@severed111 After Scott Niedermayer got injured, they were finished, Larry Robinson, indefensibly, left him in, despite, the Game against, Toronto, being salted away, that he knew Pat Quinn's reputation from their playing days, only makes the decision worse, simple as that.
The back to back Finals between the Red Wings and Penguins was the most entertaining hockey I have ever watched.
Florida fan here. McDavid has definitely shown Austin Matthews who is the best player in hockey. Go Panthers.
I watched EVERY game in the 1994 and 2001 Finals. Great hockey series'.

The most lopsided 7-game series, 23-8 in goals!
@@SverigeiSverigeNever that close, seriously.
My favorite was 94. Loved Linden. Still do.
In Game 7 of 2006, the Hurricanes came out with a bang and took a 1-0 lead super early; which put the doubts behind them and all the momentum back on their side after blowing 3-1 series lead. That’s what Florida needs to do.
That Oilers team should have lost to the Sharks, but, they gave away, Game Three, before quitting, if anything, Dwayne Roloson's injury prevented a far worse travesty, simple as that.
@@matthewdaley746Yeah that Sharks game 3 loss is one of the biggest “what ifs” throughout all the years of Sharks choking. They were one of the best teams in the league that year since acquiring Jumbo 😔 If they took a commanding 3-0 series lead and went on to win, they likely would have gone to the finals, maybe win the cup, who knows.
@poejavelski148 Yeah, the Hurricanes only beat the Sabres because of catastrophic injuries, and, nearly, blew, a, 3-1, lead to the Oilers, despite, playing the backup goaltender, Cam Ward only won, the, Conn Smythe Trophy because scoring, inexplicably, began to tail off, that's that.
@@matthewdaley746 Yeah Sabres would have won the cup with a healthy roster.

2019 was so so sweet in st.louis beautiful run
Going 2x and winning once: Boston 🤝 Edmonton 🤝 New Jersey
losing both times: Vancouver 🧢🥴🧃
Man, that 2019 game 7 was rough. At least 2011 was still relatively recent. I have no idea how this year’s is gonna go. Absolutely watching, despite not having a dog in the fight.
Pretty wild that over the course of 10 years, (2001-2011, only 9 seasons, 2005 lockout) there were 6 game 7's.
Conn Smythe this year will be McDavid and, unfortunately for us Panthers fans, Edmonton will win the cup 😢...unless there's some kind of miracle.
Colorado has to be the best one only because I still get goosebumps watching Ray Bourque lift the cup
Avs weren't intimidated, unquestionably.
The Oilers will win unless they get lazy. Florida is still playing at the peakl that got them there but #Edmonton is outplaying them.
McDavid will win the CS if he has an outstanding performance regardless of the outcome.
Game 7 in Tampa was amazing! It's definitely my favorite. I was outside the arena with a buddy, and we were on the edge of our seats all game long. One of my favorite memories.
Horrid officiating late, unquestionably.
@Keith-shit75 They didn't win, the goal was an optical illusion, however, the officials did give them an absurd, Power Play, late in, Game Seven, it cost Nikolai Khabibulin the, Conn Smythe Trophy, and, potentially, could have cost, Tampa Bay, the, Cup.
Edmonton's going to win the Stanley Cup, Shannon. 31 years is too long for a Canadian team to win it, and their fans have suffered long enough.
My father still has his old VHS recordings.
I was there for game 7 in Tampa. I figured one way or another I am watching the cup get raised. 68 dollars for the ticket. lower bowl maybe 20 rows up. I bought them prior to game 6 as a total gamble. It was a curious in there. Before the game, during, and after. I figured at the time its the only way I would see a FL team win a cup. 30 years later, still in that same situation.
Go Oilers bring back the cup north of the border
in 1994 when Nathan LaFayette hit the post late, that was the last snipe by the Canucks to possibly win that game 7.
The 10th one, ICAW, was 1971(Canadiens won Game 7 3-2 against the Blackhawks).
That was truly, indefensible, the Blackhawks took a, 2-0, and, lost, in regulation, at home, to a Canadiens team that was worse than them, I'd feel worse about it if Bobby Hull wasn't such a terrible person, simple as that.
i suddenly want ice cream
Florida probably needs the Cup more than Edmonton does in terms of stabilizing their fan base beyond the die hards who have been around for years
I don't disagree, Edmonton is in as stable of a financial position as it ever has been, but it's been tough for the Edmonton faithful at times.
The Oilers had so much success so quickly in the 80's that many fans under 30 (like me) have just the 06' heartbreak to hang on to and some not even that at this point. Not many fans around have actually seen them win it all these days.
Love seeing the FIFA World Cup getting love here! I recommend people check out the Euro and Copa America competitions!
Its going to be either ”The Great Comeback” or ”The Great Escape”
Great Nothingburger's highly, likely.
I think what’s happened in the past really means nothing from other series .. what I will certainly admit to is I was amazed how Shannon was thinking maybe Edmonton can make a comeback when all I was seeing was Florida doing a continuation of the Ranger series .. Shutting down the shots and the goalie edge of Bobrovsky a clear edge for Florida .. wow how things can change .. The question is how teams do under pressure especially the goalies and Edmonton has faced elimination, Florida has not until now and not since Vegas but before that they did have a 3-1 comeback against Boston , but I guess who HASNT come back against Boston? It seems Edmonton has the edge but i wouldn’t be surprised if Florida found a way
Maximum hockey is fantastic!
Still pissed ab thr Bs losing to the Hawks in game6 after Chicago pulled their goalie.
2019 Marchand goes to the bench and Alex Pietrangelo scores
As an Avs fan, it's a given that 2001 was a favorite season for me, especially seeing Bourque raise the cup.
But also 2019, O'Reilly was such a staple for the Avs during the team's rough years that I was THRILLED to see him win, even moreso the Conn Smythe.
Rooting for Edmonton for the epic comeback. It's time for Canada to raise the cup again.
The Panthers choking is, sadly, going to be the headline, unless the Oilers win again next year, simple as that.
I am 51/49 In this final as to who I am cheering for Some days the 51 is Edmonton, some days the 51 is Florida. This is how neutral I am

Lost in all this, is Adam Henrique being a nice pickup for Edmonton.
2 GWG's in a SCF are worth a first round pick all day, he has been an absolute anchor in the middle six since returning from injury against Dallas.
All I ever asked for is a game 7 ot. I can’t imagine that. Probably won’t even be able to watch
As a Lightning fan my favorite is 2004 obvious. Honestly besides it being the game we won our first cup it’s also great for arguing with “it was in” people.
People like to say “Calgary deserved to win that cup” or “Calgary should’ve won that cup” alright if they should’ve won why didn’t they in OT of game six. Or hell why didn’t they in game seven?
STL-BOS game 7 was goated
The 2003 Mighty Ducks are the most legendary team that lost in the championship round. Off the floor on the board. Mighty ducks help put hockey on the map with their Disney brand. Glad they won it in 2007. Hope they gave Paul Kariya a 2007 Mighty ducks ring.
As a Blues fan I have to say 2019... but I also didn't start watching the NHL in full until 2011-2012, so didn't really have other options. This final has had me pretty torn so I'm hoping Game 7 is at least competitive from both sides - outside of Games 3 and 5, most of these games have felt over early.
Roy vs Brodeur Game 7 would be my favorite.
i remember being 16 and really wanting the ducks to win. pittsburgh's rematch with detroit is the last time i really cared who won; 2 great series back-to-back, osgood still gets no respect....then i just accepted that toronto was never winning so why care about anything.
My favorite was NJ 2003 now this one is new favorite
The way this storyline has gone so far, game 7 definitely going to overtime
2004 was definitely the oddest for me. I had a pre-season bet on Tampa to win the cup. The only time I've ever bet on hockey. I was talked into putting up a couple of hundred dollars in partnership with a non-hockey fan friend who liked to bet on sports and was trusting my judgement. What made it odd is that I'm a Flames fan and never dreamed they were the ones who'd end up playing the Lightnings for the cup. So I had to decide, do I root for Tampa and the money, or do I root for my favorite team and the glory of winning. Sorry team loyalty, I ended up rooting for Tampa and the money and when the Lightnings won I ended up with about $2000.
Can we take a moment to reflect on how the Oilers season began with an 8-1 loss to The Canucks? Did anyone think they would be in this scenario after that outcome?
2019 =sniff=
2006 was a very exciting series, between Canes and Oilers.
My opinion on why this year’s finals are kinda flat, is that they really are not playing with a lot of speed or physicality. Or at least not what I usually see in the finals.
I think if Florida wins, the CS still goes to McDavid. I would hate to see that, it would be awful for him I'm sure, but with his production and performance in these playoffs, I can't see awarding it to either Officer Bob or Comrade Barkov.
Blues were desperate for their first cup and also blew a 3-2 lead. They lost 5-1 in game 6. They were the more desperate team and won 4-1 game 7. I feel like panthers will be just as much if not even more desperate and throw everything at them. I think panthers could win, but especially the first team to score.
The real difference maker in that game, though, was Binnington, particularly in the 1st. And a poorly timed line change at the end of the first for Marchand. The team who wins this game 7 is going to be the one with the better goaltender and who capitalizes on the other team’s mistakes.
Both the goaltenders in this series are either world beaters or can’t stop a beach ball. And Bob has a long history of that
I'm hoping the cup finally comes home
Hope the Oilers story is boosting your likes amd subs. 🤙
This would have been a good opportunity to mention that Sydney Crosby snubbed Detroit in the 2009 handshake line.
Going to be interesting. My two cents is I can see McDavid winning the Smythe regardless of who wins, and if I had a vote I would vote for him regardless. Barkov and Bob had a case but McDavid having 8 points in the first two games of Edmonton's winning streak and smashing Gretzky's assist record seals it for me IMO.
Sergei Bobrovsky is the only reason the, Final, isn't over, he, may, or, may, not, win, the, Cup, but, as far as the, Conn Smythe Trophy, is concerned, That Ship Has Sailed.
Win or Lose the Conn Symthe will go to McDavid since he has been the best all around player in the playoffs
tampa mentioned go bolts
Game 7 in the SC Finals - the only double elimination game in the NHL. Both teams’ seasons come to a crashing halt.
I actually think this is going to be an overtime game winner this time
Zero late nights, hopefully.
The Wings losing to the Pens in seven hands down the worst for me. I blame it on Hossa...............
OT would be unbearable for fans of the two teams but lots of fun for everyone else and kind of appropriate given what has happened so far. My dream scenario is that Stuart Skinner scores an empty net goal with a minute left, which holds up as the game winner after the Panthers pull one back in the dying seconds. Just so that he can prove the "you can't win a cup with Skinner" brigade wrong in the most literal manner possible.
I hate Edmonton and want them to win
Mcdavid best player since Gretzky in the same jersey god made this for him blessed us with his son
McDavid is the best player since Bobby Orr! Nobody in-between, including Gretz was as good.
2006 Oilers losing to the Canes that was my least liked game 7! LETS GO OILERS
Potential has limits, unfortunately.
i cant wait to watch the nhl Netflix series on this season!

'Rida needs to get their game together, I still think their material is superior, especially Bob, but he hasnt looked good in these 3 meltdowns. He has it in him to steal game 7 at home.
4:30 2003 Conn Smythe, idk what else Brodeur could've done to win the media votes tbh. NHL record 7 playoff SOs that yr, record tying 3 in the Finals (and a 4th regulation blanking in a 1-0 OTL) 😑 JS was very deserving, absolutely. He was phenomenal and a great story - but c'mon man. @@sst6601 yeah, factually that's probably what carried the media vote. And he was stellar in all 3 rounds before the SCF tbh. Definitely deserving. I guess the better argument for Marty is it's not like he wasn't ever deserving of a Smythe in his career between his 2003 and 2000 #'s.
